TULSA, Okla. – A Tulsa man who said he was just looking for a place to sleep was arrested after he caused thousands of dollars in damage at a local cemetery on March 2.
Luckily for Joshua Dean, there are beds in jail.
According to reports, officers with the Tulsa Police Department were dispatched to Oaklawn Cemetery at 11th and Peoria at approximately 10:30 p.m. due to reports of vandalism in progress.
When they arrived, they found several gravestones that had been toppled over – the gravestones were cracked and damaged.
Officers and marshals with the Tulsa Fire Department placed Dean under arrest. Dean told police that he was looking for a place to sleep in the cemetery.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Dean caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to the cemetery.
He was arrested on a complaint of felony malicious injury to property.
