TULSA MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO 2020
MURDER OF CATOOSA MAN
On January 5, the suspect in the 2020 murder of a Catoosa man plead guilty to multiple
charges in Rogers County District Court.
Bradley Bales, 36, pleaded guilty to Murder
in the Second Degree and Desecration of a
Human Corpse in connection with the murder of Bart Kutt. As a result of his plea, Bales
was sentenced to 40 years in the Oklahoma
Department of Correction.
Kutt was found dead on June 8, 2020. Catoosa police officers were conducting a welfare check in the 18000 block of East Archer.
The homeowner, Kutt, had not been seen or
heard from for several days. When conducting the welfare check, officers noticed a foul
smell coming from the garage. They then saw a body lying on the floor deceased. Kutt was burned beyond recognition but was able to be identified by
dental records.
Bales was arrested by OSBI Special Agents on July 15, 2020. A second
suspect, Madison Broyles, 18, was arrested by the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force
at the Airport Inn and Suites in Tulsa on August 2, 2020. Broyles is charged
with Murder in the First Degree, Larceny of an Automobile and Desecration of
a Human Corpse.
A third suspect was arrested on June 18, 2020. Kayla Harche, 25, was
arrested by OSBI Agents in Tulsa. She is charged with Accessory to a Felony.
Both Broyles and Harche are scheduled to be arraigned later in January.

“‘Girls Gone Wild’ hot tub party”
Patrol officer Maegan Hall, who is married, was
fired last month for engaging ‘in a sexual relationship’ with multiple men on the La Vergne police force
Four police officers from the Nashville suburb of
La Vergne were fired for allegedly having sex on duty
with a female cop, who was also fired and accused
of taking off her top at what the local mayor called a
‘Girls Gone Wild’ hot tub party.
Patrol officer Maegan Hall of La Vergne Police Department is at the forefront of the investigation after
it was revealed in December that she ‘engaged in a
sexual relationship’ with at least four male officers.
Fellow patrol officers Juan Lugo-Perez, Lewis Powell, detective Seneca
Shields and Sgt. Henry Ty McGowan admitted to the accusations, according
to the report, with Shields claiming he had oral sex with Hall in the department’s gym while on duty.
It’s unclear if any of the officers will appeal.

FLIPPIN’ MAD
A 26-year-old Pryor man was taken into custody
after he head-butted a woman when she flipped
him off during a road rage incident.
Brandon Cummings, 26, was charged January
9 with aggravated assault and battery in Mayes
County District Court.
According to a Pryor Creek Police Department
press release, on December 29 at 12:59 pm, officers responded to the 400 block of Park Street
in reference to a road rage incident between two
vehicles that resulted in one of the driver’s being
physically assaulted.
The investigation determined that the victim, a
local female realtor, allegedly failed to use her turn
signal while turning into a residence for work-related purposes. The other
driver, later identified as Cummings, honked his horn. The victim responded
to the honking by “flipping Cummings off”.
Cummings exited his vehicle, approached the victim in the driveway, and
told her she needed to learn how to drive. The victim told Cummings that he
needed to leave the property or she was going to call the police. Cummings
then “head-butted” the victim in the nose, causing her nose to break.
The victim went to the road and got Cummings’ tag number. Cummings left
the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
On January 5, Cummings was located, arrested and taken to the Mayes
County Jail.
“We have been contacted several times from realtors concerned for their
safety,” the press release stated. “This incident appears to be isolated and not
targeted toward any particular profession. As always, if you are concerned for
your safety, instead of getting out of a vehicle, drive to the Pryor Creek Police
Department at 504 East Graham.”
Bond for Cummings was set at $10,000 with the condition of “having absolutely no contact with the alleged victim,” according to court records.
Bond was posted and is is scheduled to appear in court on the preliminary
hearing sounding docket February 9.

A Delaware man was taken into custody after deputies found a concoction of dangerous drugs on his
person during a traffic stop in the northwest part of
the county.
The Nowata County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) stated
that Jerry Wayne Anderson, Jr., 56, was arrested for
possession of methamphetamine/fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felon in possession
of a firearm.
According to a press release by NCSO, Anderson
was stopped in a vehicle in the northwest area of
Nowata County for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, a substance believed to methamphetamine mixed with fentanyl
was found in the vehicle and in Anderson’s shirt pocket. A loaded semi-automatic handgun was also found in the vehicle.
Anderson is a prior convicted felon.
Anderson is currently on bond in Cherokee Nation Tribal Court for trafficking methamphetamine and felon in possession of a firearm from a
July 2021 arrest in Nowata County. A tribal judge set Anderson’s bond at

ROBBERY ARREST -- Suspect bites clerk,
steals cigarettes, then tries to outrun Officers
on a bicycle.
On Jan. 9, around 1:55 a.m., Officers responded to a larceny in progress at a convenience store near 71st and Riverside.
The caller said a man, later identified as
Jeremiah Wooten, was behind the counter
stealing cigarettes and assaulting a clerk.
Video of the incident showed Jeremiah
Wooten walk behind the counter and grab
multiple packs of cigarettes attempting to
steal them.
The clerk tried to stop Wooten, and the two
got into a fight where Wooten struck the clerk
multiple times and bit him in the chest. Eventually, Wooten got away and left
with a tote bag filled with stolen cigarettes.
Officers swarmed the area and found Wooten riding a bicycle near 6800 S.
Rockford. When Officers tried to stop Wooten, he began to pedal faster and
started weaving between the patrol cars.
Eventually, Wooten turned down a dead end street and ran on foot. He
climbed a fence and ran into a backyard where he was taken into custody.
The tote bag with 15 packs of cigarettes was recovered and returned to
the store.
The clerk had multiple injuries, including a possible broken nose.
Jeremiah Wooten was arrested for:
- Robbery by Force or Fear
- Obstructing a Police Officer

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty 19 | FEBRUARY 2023 CRAIG COUNTY
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

PLAYING WITH FIRE
Two inmates at the Ottawa County Jail allegedly
wrapped another inmate in toilet paper and set
him on fire on December 23.
According to the police report, an officer reviewed surveillance footage from the incident that
occurred in the C Pod. He watched as 29-yearold Justin Randall Gering and 22-year-old Tyler
Tavis wrapped a fellow inmate in toilet paper while
he was sleeping. They wrapped him up over his
blanket, from his chest to his knees. Tavis then set
the toilet paper on fire.
Flames engulfed the slumbering inmate until
some correction deputies rushed to his aid with
fire extinguishers. Luckily, the blanket the inmate
had been sleeping under was fire retardant. He
was not injured in the blaze.
Both Gering and Tavis refused to speak to the
officer about the incident.
The officer asked the victim if any problems
had occurred between him and his toilet paper
wrapping assailants. The victim said no, and he
thought it was just a joke when they lit him on fire.
When the officer described how the men
wrapped him in toilet paper, the victim replied,
“Well, I was pissed when it happened and was
going to fight them.”
The officer informed the man that the only thing
that stopped him from being severely burned was
the fire retardant blanket.
Gering and Tavis are being charged with arson in the first degree, possession of contraband by an inmate in county jail, and malicious injury to property
under $1,000. He is being held with no bond. Both men were scheduled to
appear in court on January 18, 2023.
