ARRGH!
A 23-year-old Blackwell man was arrested
in January after he allegedly took some packages from a residence on September 21.
According to reports, a Blackwell officer
was dispatched to a residence in the 100
block of South Main to investigate mail theft.
When he arrived, a resident told the officer
they had ordered a Collector’s A Team DVD
set and a transformer.
They were notified that the items had been
delivered to their address. When they went
to retrieve the items, however, they were not
there.
A neighbor told police that she saw a man
leave the area carrying two boxes. She said
he was wearing a white hat and was dressed in all black.
The woman also identified the man as “Isaac’s cousin.”
Officers identified Dustin Dewayne Toney as a suspect in the theft. They
attempted to speak with him on October 27, but the man said he wasn’t in
town. He also said that he didn’t want to speak with officers.
A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest on December 16. He was arrested about a month later.
Toney is being charged with porch piracy and malicious injury to property
over $1,000. His bond was set at $1,500, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on March 3, 2023.

AROUND THE STATE
ROBBERY ARREST -- Suspect bites clerk,
steals cigarettes, then tries to outrun Officers
on a bicycle.
On Jan. 9, around 1:55 a.m., Officers responded to a larceny in progress at a convenience store near 71st and Riverside.
The caller said a man, later identified as
Jeremiah Wooten, was behind the counter
stealing cigarettes and assaulting a clerk.
Video of the incident showed Jeremiah
Wooten walk behind the counter and grab
multiple packs of cigarettes attempting to
steal them.
The clerk tried to stop Wooten, and the two
got into a fight where Wooten struck the clerk
multiple times and bit him in the chest. Eventually, Wooten got away and left
with a tote bag filled with stolen cigarettes.
Officers swarmed the area and found Wooten riding a bicycle near 6800 S.
Rockford. When Officers tried to stop Wooten, he began to pedal faster and
started weaving between the patrol cars.
Eventually, Wooten turned down a dead end street and ran on foot. He
climbed a fence and ran into a backyard where he was taken into custody.
The tote bag with 15 packs of cigarettes was recovered and returned to
the store.
The clerk had multiple injuries, including a possible broken nose.
Jeremiah Wooten was arrested for:
- Robbery by Force or Fear
- Obstructing a Police Officer

Special Agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of
Investigation (OSBI) have secured an arrest warrant for
First Degree Murder for Brock Thompson, 34, in connection with the disappearance of 23-year-old Devin
Wade Viles.
Viles was reported missing to the Bartlesville Police
Department on August 5, 2022. On August 10, the Bartlesville Police Department requested assistance from
the OSBI.
Viles was last seen on July 11, 2022, at a family member’s house. Investigators developed information that
Thompson was the last to be with Viles before he disappeared.
Human remains were found on September 30, 2022.
The remains were discovered in a rural pasture approximately 10 miles east of Highway 169 in Nowata County. The Medical Examiner’s
Office will determine the identity of the remains, as well as cause and manner of
death. However, the remains were found in a location that Viles and Thompson
were last known to be together.
Thompson is currently in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. He was convicted on charges related to Trafficking Illegal Drugs in January
2016 and was paroled in April 2021. In December 2022, Thompson was reincarcerated for violating his parole.

MAN CHARGED WITH THE FIRST DEGREE
MURDER OF A WASHINGTON COUNTY COUPLE
A Bartlesville man was charged January 23
in federal court for killing a Washington County couple, announced U.S. Attorney Clint
Johnson.
Lucas Anthony Walker, 20, was charged by
Criminal Complaint with first degree murder
in Indian Country and discharging a firearm
during and in relation to a crime of violence.
The Complaint alleges that on or about
Dec. 19, 2022, Walker entered the home
near Dewey while the victims were sleeping
and killed the couple when they awoke. It further alleges that he and a minor later buried
the victims in the home’s back yard.
On January 20, 2023, personnel from the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrived
at the residence to conduct a welfare check
based on the suspicious disappearance of the couple, Deborah and Larry
Dutton, who lived there.
According to the Complaint, Walker and the minor were occupying the
residence when law enforcement arrived. During a search of the residence,
evidence was allegedly discovered indicating a crime had likely taken place.
This matter will proceed in United States District Court in Tulsa, where the
Complaint is currently pending. A Complaint is a temporary charge alleging a
violation of law. For the case to proceed to trial, the United States must present the charge to a federal Grand Jury within 30 days. Once a Grand Jury returns an Indictment, a defendant has a right to a jury trial at which the United
States would have the burden of proving the defendant’s guilt. All defendants
are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and the FBI are the investigative agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorneys
Eric O. Johnston and Shakema M. Onias are prosecuting the case.

“‘Girls Gone Wild’ hot tub party”
Patrol officer Maegan Hall, who is married, was
fired last month for engaging ‘in a sexual relationship’ with multiple men on the La Vergne police force
Four police officers from the Nashville suburb of
La Vergne were fired for allegedly having sex on duty
with a female cop, who was also fired and accused
of taking off her top at what the local mayor called a
‘Girls Gone Wild’ hot tub party.
Patrol officer Maegan Hall of La Vergne Police Department is at the forefront of the investigation after
it was revealed in December that she ‘engaged in a
sexual relationship’ with at least four male officers.
Fellow patrol officers Juan Lugo-Perez, Lewis Powell, detective Seneca
Shields and Sgt. Henry Ty McGowan admitted to the accusations, according
to the report, with Shields claiming he had oral sex with Hall in the department’s gym while on duty.
It’s unclear if any of the officers will appeal.

February Is Teen Dating Violence
Awareness and Prevention Month
Being able to tell the difference between healthy, unhealthy and abusive
relationships can be more difficult than you would think. No two relationships
are the same, so what’s unhealthy in one relationship may be abusive in another. Although there are many signs to pay attention to in a relationship, look
for these common warning signs of dating abuse:
