GLENCOE MAN
CHARGED WITH FIRST
DEGREE MURDER
A Glencoe man is facing first-degree murder
charges after the decomposed body of a missing man was found partially buried in rural Payne
County.
Christopher Michael, 21, was charged September 14 with first-degree murder, in Payne County District Court. He is being held
without bond.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), on September 4, the Noble County Sheriff’s Office requested the OSBI to assist with a
missing persons case. The OSBI, Payne County Sheriff’s Office, Stillwater Police
Department, and Noble County Sheriff’s Office immediately began searching for
21-year-old Samuel Cade Crawford.
On September 8, a helicopter was utilized to conduct an aerial search of
open fields in Payne County. While observing the area, disassembled portions of
Crawford’s truck were located in Glencoe. A search warrant of the property was
executed, at which time agents discovered the crime scene.
According to reports, it is believed that Somers was allegedly working on
Crawford’s truck before he was reported missing by his employer in late August.
Investigators found a freshly dug hole on the same property that was partially
filled in with flies swarming it and an odor. On September 10, investigators recovered a decomposed body from the hole. The body was sent to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office and later identified as Crawford.
Based on information obtained through the investigation, Somers was arrested and booked into the Payne County Jail. This is still an ongoing investigation.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact [email protected].
Somers’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 4, 2024.

ROBBERY OVER A REFUND - Two men arrested after robbing hotel clerk at checkout
On September 5, Tulsa Police Officers responded to an Armed Robbery call around 2:30 p.m. at
a hotel near 91st and Riverside.
The 911 caller said a man armed with a knife
threatened hotel employees and forced a clerk to
hand over some money.
Through the investigation, Officers learned one
of the suspects, identified as Monroe Bird, rented
a room at the hotel and believed he was owed
a partial refund for checking out early. The dispute escalated when the other suspect, identified
as Shawdale Wright, arrived at the hotel and demanded $200 from the clerk.
When the clerk refused, Wright slashed an employee’s tire and threatened to start breaking windows. The clerk then handed over the money and the two suspects left.
Officers found and arrested Wright as he headed northbound on Riverside on
a bicycle. Officers caught Bird trying to hide behind a tree nearby.
Monroe Bird was arrested for:
- Robbery by Force or Fear AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony)
Shawdale Wright was arrested for:
- Robbery by Force or Fear AFCF
- Malicious Injury to Property
As the suspects in this case falls under the McGirt ruling, they will either be
prosecuted in Tribal Court or Federal Court. We will continue to work with our
Federal or Tribal partners as this case continues.
This is an arrest, not a conviction.

Las Vegas rapper arrested after he allegedly
‘confessed’ to murder in music video
A Nevada rapper was arrested on murder
charges after implicating himself in a music video
by sharing details of the crime that only a killer could have known, police said.
Kenjuan McDaniel, 25, was picked up on August 29 after police said lyrics in
one of his recently posted music videos included details about a 2021 murder
that had not been publicly released, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said.
“I be the reason why he’s dead, we still taunt him when he die, not the reason
he’s dead, so celebrate the reason why his momma cry,” was one of the lyrics
in McDaniel’s video for his song “Fadee Free” that police said implicated the
rapper, according to a warrant obtained by KVUU.
“Parked the car, double back on feet, the smartest way to slide, drove in,
double lock yo man, make sure you get yo bod’,” was another lyric linked to
the murder, which saw a man gunned down in his apartment after an apparent
argument.
In the video — which depicted McDaniel and his cohorts’ faces transforming
into demonic skeletal visages — the rapper also allegedly acted out movements
that police said were “consistent with evidence at the scene.”
“The facts gathered during the investigation were obtained separately from the
music video,” police said.
“The music video further validated the results of the investigation.”
McDaniel’s video was first uploaded to YouTube in mid-July, and a detective
found it shortly thereafter.
“Detectives noted the music video bore a sufficient level of similarity to the
details of the murder,” the warrant read. “This includes the fact, that Kenjuan
confessed to the murder in his lyrics.”
“Details provided by Kenjuan in his music video were not released to the public
and would not be common knowledge.”

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

TWO PLEAD GUILTY
IN BRISTOW DRUG
OPERATION
A Bristow couple have pleaded guilty in federal
court to distribution of meth.
U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson announced
that Stephanie Lynn Mudgett, 37, a Muskogee
Nation citizen, and Julio Barcenas Velazquez, 39,
a Mexican National, both of Bristow have pleaded guilty to distribution of meth.
“These defendants ran their operation from the small town of Bristow, distributing poison to that community and ours, and thinking they could hide from the
law,” said U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. “I want to thank our local law enforcement partners for tracking these operations and bringing them for prosecution.”
The defendants, working together, sought to traffic large quantities of meth
and fentanyl pills in Creek County. In their plea agreements both defendants
admitted to knowingly and intentionally distributing meth. In addition, Velazquez
will forfeit his interest in a parcel of property as well as money relating to drug
transactions.
At sentencing, Mudgett and Velazquez both face a maximum penalty of 40
years in federal prison. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence
after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
Both defendants have been and will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal
Service pending sentencing.
The Muscogee Lighthorse Police, Creek County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma
Bureau of Narcotics, and Drug Enforcement Administration conducted the investigation.
Assistant U.S. Attorney George Jiang is prosecuting the case.
The prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces
(OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal
organizations that threaten the United States by using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach that leverages the strengths of federal,
state, and local law enforcement agencies against criminal networks.

ONE HAND IN MY
POCKET
A Stroud man with a rap sheet a mile long was
caught once again with drugs in his car and in his
pocket.
Ronald Mixon, 60, was charged September 26
with unlawful possession of controlled drug with
intent to distribute and driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked, in Lincoln County District Court.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on September 5, a Stroud police
officer responded to a residence in the 1400 block of S. 1st Avenue after he was
contacted shortly before by a probation officer. The probation officer said that
she had completed a home visit compliance check on probationer Ronald Mixon
and had located narcotics in his vehicle.
The probation officer explained that she had arrived at the residence and Mixon was not there, but he arrived a short time later driving a red truck and parked
it in the driveway.
Mixon allowed her entry to his residence to search for contraband and located
a small amount of a green leafy substance and a digital scale. She then gained
permission to search Mixon’s vehicle and she located narcotics and paraphernalia tucked under the driver’s seat. She was able to confirm that Mixon, being
the driver, was the sole occupant of the vehicle on his arrival.
The probation officer then showed the police officer the contraband she had
located in the vehicle. A green leafy substance was found in a plastic Walmart
bag, along with two butane lighters. Next to the Walmart bag was a blue metal
cylindrical container with two plastic baggies containing a crystalline substance
consistent in appearance with methamphetamine, as well as a Ziplock bag containing 124 clean plastic baggies similar to the baggies containing methamphetamine. The probation officer also turned over to the police officer two black
cellular phones that were located in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
The police officer then seized all of the items and secured them in his patrol
vehicle and notified Mixon that he was under arrest and placed him in handcuffs. The officer then asked asked Mixon if he had any other contraband on his
person. Mixon then pulled another small plastic baggie containing a crystalline
substance from his right front pocket and handed it to the officer. The officer then
performed a search of his person and secured him in the patrol vehicle.
Mixon was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was released to
the on-duty staff without incident. At the Sheriff’s Office, the officer processed
the evidence seized at Mixon’s residence. All three baggies containing the crystalline substance field tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine and
the green leafy substance tested presumptive positive for marijuana. A weight
of the narcotics was completed and showed in total approximately 4.2 grams of
methamphetamine and approximately 25 grams of marijuana.
Mixon’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 12.

A Guthrie teen is facing manslaughter charges
after he allegedly shot and killed a man in a rural
area southeast of Guthrie.
Jordan Harvey, 19, was charged September
11 with first degree
manslaughter in Logan County District Court.
According to reports, deputies were called to
a trailer home near 2 Creeks Road and South
Midwest Boulevard southeast of Guthrie. A neighbor had called for help after
hearing gunfire. A deceased male was found laying in the grass near the trailer and a shotgun was tossed on the ground nearby.
A neighbor told deputies that he heard a single gunshot and “heard someone screaming I’m going to kill you.” He went to check on his neighbors and
then called 911.
A male and female at the trailer seemed to be unhurt.
Harvey was later found walking along a dirt road, taken into custody, and
transported to the Logan County jail for booking.
Investigators said the Harvey and victim, Geronimo Quilimaco, were at a
friend’s trailer and began arguing.
Bond for Harvey was set at $500,000 and he is scheduled to next appear
in court on October 26 before Judge Susan Worthington.
8 kids a day are accidentally killed
or injured by FAMILY FIRE.
FAMILY FIRE is a shooting involving an improperly
stored gun, often found in the home.
