a guilty plea to Arson in federal court earlier this
month. The crime is punishable by not less than 5

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

busted
An investigation into a suspected methamphetamine distribution ring led to the execution of five search warrants and five arrests in Adair County on June 3, according to the OSBI.
Operations were the culmination of year-long investigation into
a suspected methamphetamine distribution ring in Northeastern
Oklahoma. In 2019, District 13 Drug and Violent Crime Agents
received information concerning a group of individuals conspiring to traffic large amounts of methamphetamine into Delaware
and Adair Counties, and into Arkansas. As the group’s activities
increased, District 13 and District 27 Drug and Violent Crimes
Task Force agents teamed up with officers and agents from several area law enforcement agencies on the investigation.
In the course of the investigation, agents discovered that from
March 2019 through November 2019, the group was trafficking
approximately one-half pound of methamphetamine per week.
Shortly thereafter, the group increased the amount to a minimum
of one pound per week through May 2020.
During the execution of the search warrants, agents discovered six firearms, stolen property, meth and paraphernalia, as
well as additional evidence in the ongoing conspiracy investigation.
Arrested during the operations:
· Trena Roberts, 50, of Westville, was arrested possession of
a firearm after former conviction of a felony, and an outstanding Adair County arrest warrant for Aggravated Trafficking of a
Controlled Dangerous Substance and Conspiracy to Distribute a
Controlled Dangerous Substance.
· James William Ford, 28, of Westville, was arrested on a
charge of possession of a firearm after former conviction of a
felony and an outstanding Adair County arrest warrant for Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
· Michael Wayne Bruner, 45, of Stilwell, was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony
and knowingly concealing stolen property.
· Jeffrey Wayne Robinson, 52, of Westville, was arrested on an
outstanding Adair County warrant for Conspiracy to Distribute a
Controlled Dangerous Substance.
· Nathan Ryan Robinson, 44, of Gentry, Ark., was arrested
on charges of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
All five suspects were booked into the Adair County Jail on the
above-listed charges.
Agents reported the investigation is still ongoing, and additional arrests are expected in the case.
“This is a prime example of how to combine limited resources
through interagency cooperation to maximize results for citizens,” said District 27 District Attorney Jack Thorp.
Adair County Sheriff Jason Ritchie echoed Thorp’s sentiments: “Our budget could never allow an investigation of this
magnitude, but our citizens deserve to be safe from the ravages
of drugs.”
The investigation involved agents and officers from the Oklahoma District 13 and District 27 Drug and Violent Crime Task
Forces, Adair County Sheriff’s Office, Delaware County Sheriff’s
Office, Stilwell Police Department, West Siloam Springs Police
Department, and Kansas Police Department.

ya can’t have nuthin’
Three Sallisaw men are facing assault charges after they allegedly attacked a couple at
Bradley Ford on May 29.
According to the police report, a man and
his girlfriend were at the recreational site when
they were attacked by the suspects, identified
as 19-year-old Mika Collins, 20-year-old Hunter Kent Proffitt, and Tekyevius Clayton, 19.
A Sequoyah County deputy was dispatched
to the hospital to speak to the victims regarding
the incident. The female victim said the three
men and another suspect jumped her and her
boyfriend while they were at Bradley Ford. She
said Collins ran up to her car while she was
sitting inside and started punching her. The
woman’s boyfriend grabbed Collins, and the
group started attacking the man.
When the deputy spoke to the suspects, they
denied seeing anything or knowing the other
couple, even though the female victim said she
used to date Proffitt. Collins, Proffitt’s current
girlfriend, told officers that she had nothing to
say about the incident.
Clayton later admitted to police what happened during the assault. The three suspects
were placed under arrest.
Collins is being charged with aggravated assault and battery and assault and battery. Her
bond was set at $6,500, and she is scheduled
to appear in court on July 15, 2020.
Proffitt is being charged with aggravated assault and battery. His bond was set at $10,000,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on July
8, 2020.
Clayton is being charged with aggravated assault and battery. His bond was set at $5,000,
and he was scheduled to appear in court on
June 17, 2020.
The business and family who own the popular swimming area have temporarily closed it
due to the extensive damage caused by rowdy
guests, including the suspects arrested. The Sequoyah County Sheriff’s
Officer is enforcing trespassing laws after incidents of littering, graffiti and
underage drinking left the area trashed.

Sheriff’s Office receives $275,000
COPS Grant
On June 2nd 2020, the Sequoyah County
Sheriff’s Office was notified that they had received a much-needed personnel grant that
will add $275,000 to the department to pay
the salaries and benefits for two new patrol
deputies for three years. There were only two
Sheriff’s Offices in Oklahoma that received
this grant (Sequoyah & Rogers). This grant is
from the U.S. Dept of Justice and has officially
been named “Operation Relentless Pursuit”,
which coincidentally is the same tag line that
Sheriff Lane has used to refer to the Sheriff’s Offices’ “relentless pursuit” of
drug dealers in the county. The Dept of Justice announced that the awards
were inclusive of the $51 million that were announced in May as part of Operation Relentless Pursuit. Sheriff Lane said that Investigator Cindy Smith,
who is the sexual assault/child abuse investigator for the sheriff’s office, also
serves as the department’s grant writer. Sheriff Lane bragged about what
a fantastic job that Cindy has done getting us grants. “Cindy is the hardest
worker we have; she never slows down, and she excels at whatever job she
is tasked with”. I don’t know how she does it, the sexual assault/child abuse
investigations are never ending and extremely stressful and time consuming,
yet she handles them efficiently and professionally and still finds time to write
our grants”. Sheriff Lane said that since he took office in 2017, the Sheriff’s
office has been awarded 14 grants for a total of $680,432. “I’m very excited
to be getting the two additional deputies, we are one deputy short right now
with the one that’s injured and out on workers comp leave. So, hopefully we
will receive the funds soon”. Investigator Cindy Smith said “I am so pleased
to be awarded this grant, it has been applied for on two previous occasions,
with previous Sheriff’s, but this is the first time that it has been awarded”.
There were over 1100 agencies nation wide that applied for this grant, 596
of them were awarded, 18 of which were in Oklahoma and only two of those
were Sheriff’s offices (Rogers and Sequoyah Counties). RYAN

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children receive
public assistance and their parents pay no child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

OSBI OFFERS $5000 REWARD IN 2018
CHOCTAW, OKLA., COLD CASE
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads agents to the persons responsible for the
murder of 35-year-old Eric Trammell.
On August 27, 2018, the Choctaw Police Department requested OSBI
investigate Trammell’s death. He was found on NE 36th Street in Choctaw
and had sustained two gunshot wounds. OSBI agents located video surveillance from the area where he was found and discovered Trammell met
with four men about 30 minutes prior to his murder.
Agents have identified one of the suspects as 20-year-old Jaylen Brown.
Now agents need the public’s help to identify and locate the other three
men. The four suspects arrived together in the same car and were the
ones seen speaking to Trammell before he was shot.
If you have any information about Trammell’s murder or can help identify the men involved, contact the OSBI at (800) 522-8017 or tips@osbi.

MUSKOGEE SERIAL RAPE SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER
MORE THAN TWO DECADES
OSBI has announced that a suspect has been arrested more
than two decades after multiple women were raped in Muskogee
in the 1990’s.
On June 9, with the assistance of the Tulsa Police Department, 50-year-old Leroy Jamal Smith was arrested in connection
with the sexual assaults.
“After 25 years, we never forgot and we never gave up,” said
District Attorney Orvil Loge.
Between January 1993 and October 1995, the women, ranging in age from 19 to 40, were sexually assaulted. The survivors
all described their attacker as an African American male in his
20’s. DNA was collected at the time, but was never able to be
matched to a suspect.
In September 2019, District 15 District Attorney Orvil Loge requested assistance from the
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) with identifying a suspect using tools available
through the Bureau including forensic analysis and genealogy testing.
The OSBI Cold Case Unit, which includes agents, intelligence analysts and criminalists
at the laboratory, began reviewing records, police reports, lab reports and interviewing witnesses. In January 2020, a sample of DNA from one of the survivors was sent to Parabon
NanoLabs for Forensic Genetic Genealogical DNA Analysis and Searching (FGGS).
Parabon submitted a genetic data profile created from the unknown DNA sample to a
public genetic genealogy database for comparison in hopes of finding individuals who share
significant amounts of DNA with the unknown subject. These genetic matches served as
clues to inform traditional genealogy research, which utilizes online genealogy databases,
newspaper archives, public family trees, obituaries, and other public records.
Based on the information received from Parabon NanoLabs, the OSBI Cold Case Unit
was able to narrow down the suspect pool. Agents learned that Smith had been the subject
of several investigations in Tulsa. The Tulsa Police Department’s Cold Case Unit was able to
locate Smith’s known DNA sample that had been obtained via search warrant in a previous
investigation. On May 29, 2020, after comparing DNA collected from four of the survivors
with Smith, a positive match was made.
“This was a case that gripped Muskogee with fear,” said Muskogee Police Chief Johnny
Teehee. “Over the years, many officers have worked tirelessly to get this case solved. Thanks
to advances in technology and continued determination an arrest was made. I would like to
thank everyone who had a part in bringing this arrest to fruition.”
The OSBI serves the state of Oklahoma, and as such offers Bureau assets including advanced technology, forensic sciences and manpower to local law enforcement agencies,
when requested. The goal is to work closely with local law enforcement agencies, utilizing
OSBI capabilities, to solve cases and get justice for crime victims in their communities.
“It was an honor to help District Attorney Loge and Chief Teehee in this case,” said OSBI
Director Ricky Adams. “These five women waited decades for justice. Through a combination of genetic genealogy and determined investigative work by Muskogee police officers and
OSBI agents, we were able to finally give them resolution. We are humbled to be part of the
team that took this offender off the streets. And like DA Loge, we will not give up on a case,
no matter how many years have passed.”
Smith was arrested on a failure to pay warrant and five counts of rape. He was transferred
from Tulsa to the Muskogee County Jail. Smith was arraigned on June 10.
Solving this case was a team effort and the OSBI would like to acknowledge and thank Detective Eddie Majors with the Tulsa Police Department, Parabon NanoLabs, the FBI, Muskogee Police Department and District Attorney Loge and his staff.
Anyone who believes they may have been assaulted by Smith are encouraged to contact
the Muskogee Police Department or the OSBI at (800) 522-8017 or [email protected].

Deputies arrest suspect for
Armed Robbery
A Broken Arrow man is facing several felony
charges after he robbed a connivence store
and then assault officers during his arrest.
According to the Wagoner County Sheriff’s
Department, on May 29, at approximately 1:55
a.m., Wagoner County Lieutenant B. Rose,
Deputy K. Phillips, and K-9 Deputy D. Watkins
responded to the E Z Mart, located at 3108 S
31st in Broken Arrow, in reference to an Armed
Robbery. An unidentified male walked into EZ
Mart holding a black pistol, pointed the gun at
the clerk’s face, and demanded all the money
in the register. The clerk gave the unidentified
male all of the money in register and the unidentified male ran outside and traveled westbound on foot.
An individual that was pumping gas outside the store was also threatened by the suspect.
Deputy Watkins deployed his K-9 partner Bane and searched the area.
Bane tracked the suspect’s scent until they reached a point where they
believed the suspect had entered a vehicle and fled the area.
Upon deputies providing a description of the male subject to Broken
Arrow Police Department, they informed deputies that they located a male
subject, identified as Conrad E. Nedd, approximately a mile away from EZ
Mart and they had him detained. Broken Arrow Police informed me that
Conrad had a large sum of money on his person and that it was the same
amount that was taken from EZ Mart during the robbery.
Nedd was taken into custody by Broken Arrow Police Department for
Assaulting a Police Officer, Destruction of Government Property, among
several other felony charges that occurred during Conrad being detained.
Broken Arrow Police also informed deputies that the suspect had admitted
to being involved in Robbing the E Z Mart while in their custody.
Nedd was transported by the Broken Arrow Police Department to the
Wagoner County Detention Center where he was booked on their charges. Additionally, he was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon
and Threaten to perform an act of violence by Wagoner County Deputies.
He is currently being held in the Wagoner County Detention Center with
no bond.
Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott stated “This is yet another shining
example of how well the law enforcement agencies in Wagoner County
work together. Without assistance from our partners at the Broken Arrow
Police Department this violent suspect could still be out in the community
threatening others. The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office will continue to
work with other agencies in this county to ensure the utmost safety of the
Wagoner County citizens.”

A Florida man was arrested after trying to shoplift 15 quart-sized bottles of motor oil
and 30 DVDs from a 7-Eleven — by stuffing the items down his pants.
It’s the sort of thing you might not believe unless you saw it yourself. Fortunately (or
not, for the man in question), the heist was captured on store security cameras.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged theft occurred at a 7-Eleven
in Lakeland, Fla.
Polk County Det. Phil Ryan was parked outside the store when he says he looked
through the store window and saw William Jason Hall, 38, stuff bottles of motor oil
down his pants.
“Mr. Hall then dropped several movies from the shelf onto the floor, bent down,
stacked the movies on top of one another, picked them up, and slid them down into his
pants too,” reads a police statement on the department Facebook page.
“Then he waddles like a duck out of the store,” Sheriff Grady Judd with the Polk
County Sheriff’s Office told NBC News 8. “Our detective who is sitting in the car, watching all of this, says to himself, ‘Self, I think I’ll arrest him.’”
The detective then walked Hall back into the store, where he proceeded to empty his
haul: 15 bottles of Pennzoil motor oil, and 30 “Treasure Hunt” DVDs. Oh, and in case
you’re wondering (how could you not be?) the man managed his baggy pants-banditry
by tucking the ends of his pants into large work boots – allowing him to then stuff the
aforementioned motor oil bottles and DVDs.
He was given a charge of petit theft, a misdemeanor, but because this was his third
offense for small theft, the charge was upgraded to a felony.
“Mr. Hall, the next time you need some motor oil and last-minute gifts, please pay for
them,” police said. “That guy in the car outside might just be a plainclothes detective.”
Police say Joseph McInnis III, 21, and Tyree McCoy, 22, attempted to stage an armed
robbery at a pub in Woodlawn, Md. There was just one problem: the bar was hosting
a retirement party for a police officer and so was filled to the brim with off-duty cops.
“I’m sure that they weren’t planning on there being a large room filled with police
officers,” Baltimore County police Officer Jennifer Peach told WBAL-TV.
According to police, the two men entered the take-out area of Monaghan’s Pub in
Woodlawn and held up an employee at gunpoint, demanding cash.
Meanwhile, dozens of Baltimore County police officers had converged on the pub to
celebrate the retirement of Sgt. David Neal, a 29-year veteran of the force.
“At that time, the person who had been behind the counter knew that there was a
retirement party for a police officer happening, so they went into the other portion and
alerted the officers to the fact that they had just been involved in an armed robbery,”
Peach said.
The two men fled the bar on foot but didn’t make it far before they were apprehended
by police. Neither police nor any employees of the bar were injured during the robbery
or subsequent foot chase.
Jack Milani, the owner of Monaghan’s Pub, told the Baltimore Sun that he’s surprised
anyone would consider robbing his establishment, a known hangout for off-duty cops.
“It’s kind of odd you would even attempt it,” Milani said. “[Police officers] are always
in here. There was a decent amount of them.”
The two men were charged with armed robbery and possession of a handgun, and
transported to the Baltimore County Detention Center.
A bank robbery suspect in Gwinnett County, Ga., is accused of making a crucial
mistake following his alleged crime — he let his identity be known.
Eric Rivers was arrested in connection with a spree of bank robberies in Lawrenceville, Ga. after he appeared in an on-camera interview with a local news station for an
unrelated story about public transit.
Lawrenceville police say Rivers was suspected of having just robbed a Chase Bank
and was believed to be in the midst of casing several other banks when he agreed to
the interview with the WGCL-TV reporter.
“You see, when you accept an interview and provide them with your real name it actually makes our job too easy,” a statement from the Lawrenceville Police Department
read.
Rivers removed his hat and du-rag, which he is alleged to have worn during the robberies based on security camera images released by police.
Authorities say after the interview, Rivers proceeded to scope out a Fidelity Bank in
the area.
As police investigated the reported robberies, a bank manager said the suspect
walked towards the WGCL news truck after leaving the building.
Police followed up the lead and was provided Rivers’ name by the news station.
Lawrenceville Police Det. Scott Pendergrass believes the reporter caught Rivers “off
guard” and “surprised” him.
The department offered advice to would-be criminals in a Facebook post. “When
after having robbed several banks and you are at another bank casing the place for an
additional robbery and are approached by a news crew in the parking lot … DO NOT
stop and agree to an interview with said news crew,” the statement read.
Police allege Rivers attempted five robberies in total, but was successful in making
away with money in just two incidents.
