CAGED
A Lawton man was sentenced last month to serve
life in federal prison for murder after a woman’s body
was found in Wichita Wildlife Refuge in 2023.
Tevin Terrell Semien, 30, of Lawton, has been sentenced to serve life in federal prison for second-degree
murder and illegal possession of a firearm after a previous felony conviction.
According to public record, on May 17, 2023, Karon
“Dinkers” Conneywerdy Smith, 68, was found dead in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Investigators searched Smith’s home, which was within Indian Country,
and observed blood consistent with a violent struggle. Smith’s vehicle was missing as
well. On May 21, 2023, Texas law enforcement observed Smith’s vehicle driving south
of Dallas, Texas. Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the vehicle fled at a
high speed and eventually crashed into a lake. The two occupants of the vehicle, later
identified as Semien and Nicole Leigh Logsdon, attempted to flee on foot but were
apprehended.
On October 17, 2023, a federal grand jury returned a four-count Indictment against
Semien and co-defendant Nicole Leigh Logsdon, 25, also of Lawton. The Indictment
charged Semien with one count of first-degree premeditated murder, one alternative
count of second-degree murder, and one count of illegally possessing a firearm after a
previous felony conviction. Logsdon was separately charged with accessory after the
fact to murder.
On April 22, 2024, Semien pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm. As part of his plea, Semien admitted to deliberately and
intentionally killing Smith.
On January 10, 2024, Logsdon pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to murder
and admitted to helping Semien in his attempt to avoid arrest and prosecution. On July
15, 2024, Logsdon was sentenced to serve 96 months in federal prison, followed by
three years of supervised release.
At the sentencing hearing on February 3, 2025, U.S. District Judge Stephen P. Friot
sentenced Semien to serve life in federal prison. In announcing his sentence, Judge Friot noted the nature and circumstances of the offense, pointing out that Semien’s choices and conduct amounted to an “unfathomably cruel and depraved murder.” Judge
Friot also noted Semien’s criminal history. Public record further reflects that Semien
has previous felony convictions which include burglary in Jefferson County, Texas, and
conspiracy to commit second degree burglary in Comanche County District Court case
number CF-2022-292.
This case is in federal court because Smith and Logsdon are enrolled members of the
Comanche Nation and the murder occurred within Indian Country. WILLIAM

WELCOME TO THE
MACHINE
Jeremiah Alexander Dearing, a 20-year-old from
Lawton, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of
a machine gun, as announced by U.S. Attorney
Robert J. Troester.
On December 3, 2024, a federal Grand Jury
returned an indictment against Dearing, charging
him with drug use in possession of firearms and
unlawful possession of a machine gun. An affidavit filed in support of the criminal complaint revealed that on October 9, 2024,
Dearing participated in a recorded video jail call with an inmate at the Grady
County Jail. During the call, Lawton Police Department (LPD) officers observed
Dearing displaying an AK47-style pistol and flashing multiple gang signs. Since
Dearing’s age prohibited him from legally carrying a firearm under Oklahoma
state law, LPD detectives obtained a search warrant for his residence. Upon
executing the warrant, law enforcement discovered five firearms in Dearing’s
bedroom, including a privately manufactured firearm without a serial number. All
the firearms were chamber-loaded and equipped with high-capacity magazines.
Additionally, officers seized a machine gun conversion device (MCD). When installed, the MCD transforms a semi-automatic weapon into a fully automatic machine gun. Furthermore, law enforcement recovered approximately 92 fentanyl
pills from the residence.
Dearing pleaded guilty on February 11, 2025, admitting to unlawfully possessing a machine gun. At sentencing, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison and
a fine of up to $250,000.

IN THE GUTTER
Duncan man Paul Evan Eaton, 56, allegedly set fire
near some railroad tracks on February 13.
According to the affidavit, a Duncan police officer
was dispatched to railroad tracks at the intersection of
5th and Elk to investigate a brush fire. When he arrived
at the location, he saw smoke rising from the northeast corner of the railroad tracks. He also smelled burnt
wood and plastic.
The officer and fire department personnel saw a man
run out of the grassy culvert near the fire. He then ran
onto the train tracks and refused officer commands to stop. The officer pursued the man
in the area of the 1600 block of N. 5th Street. At one point, the man took off a tan jacket
in an attempt to seemingly confuse the officer.
Other law enforcement units responded to the scene and apprehended the man, who
was identified as Eaton, after a brief struggle on the southeast side of the intersection at
W. Arkansas and Hickory.
Officers found a blue torch style lighter on his person, along with drug paraphernalia.
Eaton was “babbling nonsense” according to the police report and had pinpoint pupils
and couldn’t sit still. He appeared to be under the influence of an illicit substance.
The officer returned to the location of the tire and noticed that there were burn marks
in the metal culvert. He also observed that the fire had covered a distance of 10 - 15 feet.
The area smelled like burnt wood and trash, and there was some dry dead grass where
the fire had been. The officer observed that if the fire hadn’t been extinguished when it
was, it could have caused a lot of damage to Union Pacific Railroad and local businesses
that were in the area.
Eaton is being charged with arson in the fourth degree after the former conviction of
two or more felonies, obstructing an officer, interfering with railroad, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was scheduled to appear in court on April 9, 2025. Bail
was set at $25,000. TEQUITHA

A Temple University student has been arrested and
charged with impersonating an ICE officer after showing up at a residence hall and attempting to enter.
Two “suspicious” males identified themselves as police and ICE agents to dorm security on February 1, according to Philadelphia police. The individuals were denied access to the residence hall, according to Temple.
A third suspect -- identified by police as 22-year-old
Aidan Steigelmann, arrived at the building and spoke with the two suspects, before the
three of them left together in a Jaguar SUV.
Two of the three were impersonating ICE officers while the third was recording the
interactions, according to Temple University.
Minutes later, university police responded to a report of three suspicious males identifying themselves as police officers and ICE at an Insomnia Cookies store, according to
police.
While two of the suspects left the area in a light-colored SUV, Steigelmann was identified, arrested and his vehicle was towed, police said.
“The involved student is on interim suspension. Any student found responsible for this conduct will be subject to
disciplinary action under the Student Conduct Code, up to
and including expulsion,” Temple University said in a statement.
The investigation is is still active and ongoing, and the
two other suspects remain at large. The suspects were
wearing shirts with “Police” on the front and “ICE” on the
back, police said.

These two give a whole new meaning to keeping up
with the Jones’, as this brother and sister duo joined
forces like Bonnie and Clyde and tried to rob Moncrief
Bail Bonds in Florida, along with a juvenile!!
That’s right, Rasheem Jones and Takirria Jones,
along with a juvenile, Matthew Jackson, decided they
would rob Moncrief Bail Bonds at gunpoint, with Takirria
being the getaway driver and the other two going inside
to get the goods.
It all started on January 6th, when the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office (Florida) received
a call from employees stating that two individuals came into the business wearing masks,
demanding money from them and one of the subjects pointed a firearm at them. Well,
plot twist, there was no cash at the business so the subjects fled and took off in the
getaway vehicle.
During the investigation, it was learned that similar subjects had committed an armed
robbery the night before in the city of Cocoa Beach.
Through investigative work and by working with Cocoa Beach Police, agents were
able to identify all of the subjects involved in this “well-planned” robbery!! Ultimately, Rasheem Jones was charged with attempted robbery with a firearm with a mask, aggravated assault with a firearm with a mask, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon,
Matthew Jackson was charged with attempted robbery with a firearm with a mask and
aggravated assault with a firearm with a mask, and last but not least, Takirria Jones was
charged with attempted robbery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a
deadly weapon. All subjects were transported to the Brevard County jail on a No Bond
status, and of course Jackson was processed through the Juvenile Detention Center.
This is definitely a type of family bonding you don’t see every day, but folks I don’t
recommend it!! Oh and one more thing…good luck getting a bondsman to come bond
you out!!

THAT'S METHED UP!
Barking up the wrong tree?
A Florida man is accused of possessing methamphetamine after he was allegedly observed
“barking like a dog” in a Georgia auto parts store
for more than a hour, authorities said.
According to Monroe County online booking records, Jonathan Patrick Navas,
29, of Palm Coast, was arrested on Jan. 23. He was charged with possession of
methamphetamine and battery, records show.
In an incident report, the Forsyth Police Department said that the owner of an
Advance Auto Parts store called to complain that Navas had been in the store
and had been “barking like a dog.”
Navas allegedly told an officer that he had no idea his barking “was causing
any issues,” according to the Monroe County/Macon Reporter.
When police asked Navas for his identification, he told
officers it was in his vehicle. When officers approached
the vehicle, they allegedly found “a clear baggie containing syringes” in the passenger seat. A search revealed
a bag full “of a clear crystal substance” that was later
confirmed to be methamphetamine.
According to the incident report, Navas allegedly told
officers that the syringes contained blood.
Navas was arrested and taken to the Monroe County
Detention Center, online records show. Bond was set at
$5,000. JAMES

ON THE RUN
A 55-year-old Altus man was booked into jail after he allegedly tried to escape from police after they
found drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop in early
February.
According to reports, an officer stopped Dwight
Stevenson after noticing a broken tail light on the
man’s vehicle. Stevenson appeared to be nervous
during the stop.
A K9 was brought to the scene, and it alerted police to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle; officers found multiple baggies of drugs.
When they tried to place Stevenson under arrest, he ran away from the location. An
officer used a taser to stop and detain him.
The man was arrested and taken to the hospital. After being medically cleared,
officers transported the man to jail.
Stevenson is being charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug with
intent to distribute, escape from arrest or detention, and possession of a controlled
dangerous substance. His bond was set at $150,000, and he is scheduled to appear
in court on March 20, 2025.

INTENTIONALLY INTENTIONAL
A Chickasha man was taken into custody after
he went on a rampage causing chaos in a southwest-side neighborhood.
Chickasha police arrested 41-year-old Christopher
Graham on arson charges after responding to a report of a man breaking windows in a home on March
2. Upon arrival at the 500 block of South 22nd, officers found multiple fires burning. The Chickasha Fire
Department quickly extinguished the flames, and the
Fire Chief confirmed that the fires had been intentionally set, according to reports.
Authorities launched a search for the suspected armed and dangerous suspect,
involving Grady County sheriff’s deputies and The Chickasaw Lighthorse Police. They
obtained a photo of the suspect and dropped it off at Grady Memorial Hospital. The
emergency room staff later informed authorities that the suspect was present. He was
identified as Graham taken to the Grady County Jail on two counts of second-degree
arson. Bond was set at $100,000 and ordered to return to court for is preliminary
hearing conference of April 16 at 9 am. NIDAL
