On Jan. 20, Charles Michael Segaloff, (a/k/a "Michael
Makai," "Mike Sage," "Daddy," "Poppa," and "Master"), 59,
of Lawton, was indicted by a federal grand jury and charged
with traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct
with a juvenile, kidnapping, sex trafficking, and enticement
of a juvenile.
According to the indictment, from December 7, 2015,
through December 15, 2015, Segaloff traveled from Lawton
to Greenwich, New York, and returned to Lawton with a
female juvenile under 18 years of age for the purpose of
engaging in illicit sexual conduct and to hold the juvenile
to form a polyamorous family.
Segaloff had previously been charged by complaint in
federal court in Oklahoma City and is currently being held in the Logan County Jail, according to the Department of Justice’s website.
If convicted, Segaloff faces up to life in prison, a $250,000 fine, and lifetime registration
as a sex offender.

February Is Teen Dating Violence
Awareness and Prevention Month
During this month, and at all times, parents need to be aware of
the issue of teen dating violence. For as much as domestic violence
among adults is an issue that is too often not discussed -- and too often kept a secret by the victim -- teen dating violence is even less discussed, and even less reported by victims. Nevertheless, in a recent
survey of over 4,000 9th through 12th graders, one in five reported
being physically and/or sexually abused by a dating partner.
The sad fact is that two out of three teens in an abusive relationship
don’t ever tell anyone about the abuse. For girls, when they experience serious sexual abuse they only report it to an authority figure six
percent of the time. This makes it very difficult to know when your
teen has become a victim of dating violence.
Still, there are warning signs that every parent and teacher can and
should look for. Because teenage years are difficult (and secretive)
enough as it is, it’s important to be aware of these warning signs, and
to approach your teen in a way that will make them feel comfortable
talking with you.

Hobart man Ronnie Wayne Dean, 44,
was arrested after he drunkenly kicked in
the door of an apartment he didn’t live in
on January 17. When an occupant told him
to go away, he told her to go “f--- herself.”
According to the police report, a Hobart
officer was dispatched to an apartment in
the 300 block of W. Ninth shortly after 1
a.m. for a disturbance. When he arrived,
he saw a man later identified as Dean
standing on the balcony of an apartment.
A woman was yelling at the man, telling
him to leave.
The officer saw Dean push the woman out of his way and force
his way into her home. When the officer reached the apartment, he
placed Dean in handcuffs.
The top latch on the front door had been destroyed.
The victim told police she was lying in bed when she heard a loud,
banging noise. She sent another woman in the apartment to check
it out. They soon discovered Dean was at the door, trying to kick it
open. He was successful. When the door opened, the victim said he
ran into the living room and knocked over her television, DVD player
and CDs.
The other woman told police she was in bed when she heard someone kicking the front door. She told him to stop and go away. Dean
told her to eff herself and that he wanted to come in and go to sleep.
She told him again to stop, but he just kept kicking the door until
it opened up.
Dean smelled like alcohol, his eyes were bloodshot, and he was
unsteady on his feet. The officer asked Dean why he broke into the
women’s home. Dean slurred that he was at the wrong house.
Entering the wrong house led to an arrest and being locked up in
the big house!
Dean is being charged with burglary in the first degree and public
intoxication. He was released on a $7,000 bond and is scheduled to
appear in court on April 5, 2016.

A Cotton County deputy thought something was up when he saw
a “rough and rugged”-looking man driving a truck with pink accents
and a “Country Girl” sticker on January 10.
He was right.
Shawnee man Benton Wayne Taylor, 41, was arrested for driving
a stolen vehicle.
According to the affidavit, the deputy first noticed the truck when
the driver nearly hit him in the parking lot of the Comanche Red
River Casino shortly after midnight. He noticed that its tag light was
out. He tried to stop the truck, but the vehicle just kept on going.
Taylor drove to the intersection of Highway 36 and I-44, almost
hitting another vehicle. He then headed north into southbound traffic, narrowly missing a car in the exit lane.
The driver took the truck off road, running straight into a “Do Not Enter” sign. That didn’t
stop him. He kept on going and tried to get on I-44 going north in the southbound lane.
The chase came to an end when Taylor charged into a ditch and was unable to cross it.
The vehicle chase, anyways.
The man opened the driver’s door. The deputy pulled out his gun and commanded the man
to show his hands, which Taylor didn’t do. Instead, the passenger door flew open and Taylor
took off running south on I-44.
The deputy chased after him. He eventually caught up to the fugitive, who fell to the ground.
The deputy placed him in handcuffs and asked why he ran. Taylor said he was scared. He told
the cop he was going to keep running, but he could have sworn that the deputy was breathing
on his neck, and he didn’t want to get hurt.
Taylor said the truck belonged to a friend, and named one of the registered owners. He
told the deputy he had been driving it for a couple of days and met the driver “somewhere”
in Seminole.
The deputy checked the vehicle -- it was confirmed stolen out of Seminole.
He placed the man in the patrol car and conducted an inventory of the truck.
He found needles containing a clear residue.
Taylor is being charged with endangering others while attempting to elude police officer,
unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving with license suspended and unlawful possession of
drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
February 4, 2016.

A Frederick man was arrested on January
11 after he allegedly shot a gun at guy during
a dispute over a vehicle.
Luckily, 22-year-old Sean Antonio
Crowder wasn’t a very good shot – the victim was unharmed.
According to the affidavit, a Frederick officer responded to a shooting in the 400 block
of N. 11th at approximately 3:38 p.m. The
victim told the officer his cousin’s boyfriend
was driving his cousin’s vehicle. He said the
driver shot at him, but he didn’t know the
man’s name.
The officer went to the woman’s home in the 700 block of N. 3th.
The woman’s father answered the door, and he identified his daughter’s boyfriend as Crowder. He said the man was driving his daughter’s car.
On January 13, the officer was traveling northbound on Main
when he saw a man pumping gas into a car matching the description
of the vehicle involved in the shooting. The officer stopped and made
contact with the man – he identified himself as Crowder. The officer
placed him under arrest and transported him to jail.
The next day, the officer interviewed Crowder about the incident.
He said he was at his friend’s house on S. 16th when a car pulled up.
A man rolled down the window and asked Crowder why he was driving his cousin’s car. The man threatened to “beat [Crowder’s] ass,”
but Crowder said he tried to ignore the threats.
Crowder and three of his friends jumped in his car and drove away,
but the other vehicle followed. So, Crowder said he stopped and said,
“What’s up?” to the man in the other car. The man started to exit
the vehicle, so Crowder said he pulled a gun from his waistband and
fired at the man numerous times before driving away.
Crowder is being charged with shooting with intent to kill. His
bond was set at $200,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on March 24, 2016.

Carnegie man Joseph Donald Dupoint, 19, was arrested for
assaulting officers after a heist at the Anadarko Family Dollar
on January 25.
The stolen items suggested the man was hungry and wanted
to get lucky.
At approximately 6:34 p.m., an Anadarko City officer was dispatched to the store in the 100 block of W. Central for a larceny.
When he arrived, he saw a man who matched the description of
the suspect walking northbound at Third and West Central. The
officer tried to make contact with the man, but the suspect took
off running, dropping a bottle of liquor in the process. The man
briefly disappeared, but the officer saw him hiding at the top of
a staircase in the 200 block of Southwest Third.
Officers approached the man, later identified as Dupoint, and
placed him under arrest. Dupoint smelled like alcohol, he was unsteady on his feet, and his
eyes were bloodshot.
According to the affidavit, he looked at one of the officers and said in slurred speech, “You
think you’re a cool cop.” He then spit at the officer, getting saliva on the officer’s cheekbone.
He tried to spit again, but he missed.
When officers tried to subdue him, he started kicking them. A blast of pepper spray calmed
the man down for a bit, but he started kicking again when he was placed in the patrol car.
Some interesting items were found in Dupoint’s pants when they arrived at the jail. During
booking, officers found a bag containing a green leafy substance that later tested positive for
marijuana, a bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos, two packages of beef jerky, Snickers, condoms, two
different kinds of beef jerky sticks, a package of Sour Patch Kids, and Nutter Butter cookies.
A store employee told police that a man walked into the store while drinking liquor. When
she confronted him about it, she noticed there was food sticking out of his front jacket pocket. She asked for the items and he said no. When she threatened to call the police, the man
took off running.
Dupoint is being charged with prisoner placing body fluid on government employee, battery/assault and battery on police officer, petit larceny, possession of controlled dangerous
substance and public intoxication. His bond was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear
in court on March 17, 2016.
