A Pond Creek woman with some powerful
chompers was arrested on Feb. 13, after she
bit a police officer and pretended that her cellphone was a gun.
According to the affidavit, an Alfalfa County
deputy advised a Garfield County deputy that
he was following a van. He said that there appeared to be a rolling domestic taking place in
the van.
The Alfalfa deputy made a traffic stop in the
9100 block of N. U.S. 81, but advised that the
female operating the van would not comply with his instructions.
When the Garfield County deputy arrived, he saw the woman, later
identified as Cammy Kae Prochaska, 49, yelling and pointing a black
object at the deputy. The object turned out to be her cellphone.
Prochaska ignored police commands to drop the item in her hand
and walk toward them. The deputies approached Prochaska, took
the phone out of her hand and forced her to the ground.
One of the deputies checked her van for other occupants, but he
just found two dogs. About that time, the other deputy started yelling
that Prochaska had bitten his arm.
She kept trying to bite the deputy, but one of the officers deployed
his Taser in her back.
Unfortunately, this appeared to just make her angrier and verbally
abusive toward police.
The deputies were eventually able to get Prochaska in handcuffs,
and they transported her to a patrol car.
Prochaska continued to resist and was verbally abusive. Once they
reached the car, Prochaska began spitting blood at police; she was
bleeding around her mouth.
A deputy transported her to the emergency room before taking her
to jail. When they reached the detention center, she was placed in a
restraint chair due to her combative state.
Prochaska is being charged with assault and battery on a police officer, transferring bodily fluid upon state employee and obstruction.
Her bond was set at $10,000 and she is scheduled to appear in court
on March 31, 2014.
Her bite and bark are equally bad

An Enid man with escape artist skills that could rival Houdini has
left police perplexed after he escaped from the window of a patrol
vehicle en route to jail.
According to the affidavit, a Garfield County deputy went to pick
up Shaun Scott Sprowls, 42, in Grant County. Sprowls had been
sentenced in Grant County to serve eight years for manufacturing
methamphetamine, and the deputy was sent to pick up Sprowls on
pending drug charges in Garfield County.
The deputy was stopped at a stop sign at Fourth and Randolph
when he heard the left side rear window shatter.
The deputy exited his vehicle and saw Sprowls running north on
Fourth. The leg irons, belly chains and handcuffs that were supposed to restrain Sprowls were lying in the street.
Apparently, Sprowls was able to lose the shackles in the span of two blocks. Police are still
trying to figure out how the crafty man was able to escape.
While on the run, Sprowls kicked in the door of an apartment in the 500 block of E. Randolph. He allegedly told an occupant in the apartment that he was “hiding from the law.”
An off-duty jail employee saw Sprowls escape from the squad car and followed Sprowls in
her private vehicle, alerting police to his location.
Police caught up with the fugitive and were eventually able to get him to the destination of
Garfield County Detention Center.
Sprowls is being charged with escaping from arrest or detention and malicious injury to
property over $1,000. His bond was set at $5,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on
April 7, 2014.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

What you’re saying
about this on...
Rachel W: And he’s smiling.. What a
creep.
Dene G: No remorse on his face wow
people today are sick
Eddy C: Still Drunk... He’ll fell different when he sobers up… Maybe not... But, I
had a friend that was THE nicest guy ever
sober... Started drinking tequila... and was
MEAN and Violent... And would not remember any of it the next day… People react to different stuff differently… He might
not even remember it, which is no excuse,
because he made the choice to drink.
Ashley P: What kinda drugs is he on?
No remorse. Even a smile. Mentally ill or
super high. Either way, I bet he has shown
signs of this before. Lets stop giving repeat
drug offenders all the chances in the world.
Mmmkaaaay?
Eddy C: He was Drunk.
Melanie P: And possibly a knife..
Michael B: get a rope and a tall
tree, its a lot cheaper than prison
Heather W: *riding
Lesley A: Death penalty!!
Jay T: SKATE OR DIE!!
Flo C: no remorse on his face
Jaslyn H: SHAME on you, grow the
hell up, you’re an adult not a child.
Phyillis P: Death penalty. We need to
get tough with creeps like this
Lanie G: He could have been defending his sister from a freak . Case if I killed
saving my sis I’d be smiling my way to hell.
(:
Rusty A: Doubt he was defending her
since it says he stabbed her in the stomach…
Scott F: Reading comprehension is
key here, Lanie. The guy attacked his sister and murdered another, and needs to be
dealt with appropriately.
Deborah J: Who stab the sister?....
Castro or Mendoza???
Will T: read what it said. it was his
brother in law he killed and he stabbed his
sister..!!
Andrea G: Yeah he won’t be smiling
once the booze and drugs wear off. Dumb
ass
Jerry M: A lot of people have been
drunk and dont kill people. Its no excuse.
Johnny P: That’s easy to say until its
u lol
Megan N: You’re kidding, right?
Travis N: Probley protecting his
sis, none of u was there to say, besides men
tend to beat woman often
Police said they have one man behind bars after they found
a man dead in the street, beaten with a baseball bat and a
skateboard.
Tulsa police arrested 28-year-old Pedro Castro after they
said he left his brother-in-law dead in the driveway.
Authorities said they believe Castro murdered 34-year-old
Juan Mendoza with a skateboard, baseball bat and possibly
a knife.
Tulsa authorities said they arrested Castro about 10 minutes after they arrived when they found him ridding the same skateboard allegedly used in the fight.
Police said the altercation started as an argument between Castro and his
sister.
Officers said he stabbed her in the stomach and hand.
Alcohol may have fueled this altercation; police said Castro was intoxicated.

By Lt. Jeff James
Oklahoma Highway Patrol
Lately I’ve noticed that a lot
of the motoring public is having
trouble properly signaling for, and making turns. I’ve also noticed,
that when people do properly signal and make turns, a lot of others
who are in a hurry, seem to not pay attention to those signals or
turns, resulting in a lot of near-hits and actual accidents...some
with very tragic consequences. Today I’m going to talk about how
to properly signal, prepare for and execute turns on the roadway,
as well some common sense for those drivers who are in too much
of a hurry to slow down for those turning.
First, lets address state law on signaling. Oklahoma State
Statutes Title 47-11-601 and 11-604 outline the requirements for
turning movements and required signals, but the short version is
this. When turning left you must position yourself as close to the
left side of the furthest left lane of travel in your direction, and must
turn to the closest lane to you. Don’t cut the corner! When turning
right, you must position yourself as close to the right hand curb or
edge of the roadway, and also turn to the closest lane to you!
Now that we know the proper positions, lets talk about those
signals. A signal to turn right or left is required to be given
continuously for not less than the last 100 feet traveled by the
vehicle before turning. Furthermore, no person shall stop or
suddenly decrease speed without FIRST giving an appropriate
signal! How many times have you seen a vehicle slow down in
front of you for a long way, and then turn on the blinker just as they
start their turn? How many times have you done it?
Lastly, lets talk about other driver’s requirements after a
vehicle has done everything proper in preparing and signaling
for a turn. The last part of 47-11-604 says that when any person
is properly preparing for, attempting or executing a left turn, no
other person immediately following such vehicle shall pass or
attempt to pass the turning vehicle to the left. Such person shall
come to a complete stop if necessary at a safe distance behind that
person turning. Also, it is unlawful to pass this turning vehicle on
the shoulder to the right as well.
So if you are coming up on a vehicle that is slowing, ask yourself,
why are they slowing or stopping? Is someone in front of them
turning? Is something going on that I would need to reduce speed
for as well? This is what a safe and courteous driver would do, but
all to often, people zip out to pass those slowed vehicles, and end
up having a vehicle turn right in front of them, with disastrous
results! Please, use your blinkers properly, make proper turns,
and don’t be in such a hurry! Thanks for reading, buckle up, and
be safe!

A Perry man was arrested for DUI after
an officer spotted him driving down the
road with his high beams on.
On Feb. 14, a Perry police officer was traveling eastbound on Fir when he passed a vehicle with its bright lights on, the affidavit
states.
The officer activated his emergency lights
and stopped the suspect vehicle in the 600
block of Fourth.
He advised the driver of the reason for the
stop and asked for his information.
The driver told the officer he didn’t have a driver’s license, but he
identified himself as Albert Daniel Jim, 55.
The officer could smell the odor of alcohol coming from Jim’s
breath and person.
He asked Jim how much alcohol he had consumed; Jim told him
two beers.
He randomly added that he went to sleep, woke up and got into an
argument with his girlfriend.
After being advised by dispatch that Jim’s license was expired,
the officer asked the man to step out of the vehicle to instruct him
through some sobriety tests.
Jim kept losing his balance and was unable to properly complete
the tests. Jim’s poor performance confirmed the officer’s suspicions
that Jim was intoxicated. He placed him under arrest and transported him to jail.
According to the police report, Jim had previously been charged
for driving under the influence.
Jim is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the
influence of alcohol, aggravated, and driving with a license revoked.
He was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bond and is
scheduled to appear in court on April 7, 2014.

Jeremy Alan Smith just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. The
37-year-old Enid man was arrested Feb. 12, even though he told
the officer he couldn’t go to jail because he had just finished paying fines in another county.
According to the affidavit, a Kingfisher police officer was on
patrol in the area of Highway 81 and Highway 33 when he noticed the vehicle in front of him had an out-of-date license plate.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the
driver, identified as Smith. The officer asked Smith for his license, and Smith told the officer that he didn’t have one.
When the officer inquired more about Smith’s license, Smith
began to cry and told the officer that he couldn’t go to jail because he had just “paid up” all of his fines from Garfield County.
The officer asked Smith to sit in his patrol car; he then made
contact with Smith’s female passenger.
Birds of a feather must flock together, because the woman initially gave the officer a false name. She was later identified as
Bobbie Jo Smith, 35, of Enid.
During the stop, another deputy saw a smoking pipe in the
passenger seat of Smith’s vehicle.
A search of the vehicle yielded more illegal items, including
more pipes and baggies containing a crystal-like substance,
which later field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Dispatch
also advised that Jeremy Smith had an active warrant out of Garfield County.
Both Smiths were placed under arrest. The male Smith was
less than pleased about being in the back of a cop car; he began
yelling and beating his head against the car’s window.
Bobbie Jo Smith is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance,
unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing an officer.
Jeremy Smith is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked
and failure to pay taxes due state.
Both of their bonds were set at $10,000, and they are scheduled to appear in court on
March 10, 2014.

The Bible clearly teaches that
Christians are not to worry.
In Philippians 4:6, we are
commanded, “Do not be anxious
[do not worry] about anything,
but in everything, by prayer
and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.” In
this Scripture, we learn that we
should bring all of our needs and
concerns to God in prayer rather
than worry about them. Jesus
encourages us to avoid worrying
about our physical needs like
clothing and food. Jesus assures us
that our heavenly Father will take
care of all our needs (Matthew 6:25-34). Therefore, we have no need
to worry about anything.
Since worrying should not be a part of a believer’s life, how does
one overcome worry? In 1 Peter 5:7, we are instructed to “cast all
your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” God does not want us
to carry around the weight of problems and burdens. In this verse,
God is telling us to give Him all of our worries and concerns. Why
does God want to take on our problems? The Bible says it is because
He cares for us. God is concerned about everything that happens
to us. No worry is too big or too small for His attention. When we
give God our problems, He promises to give us the peace which
transcends all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Of course, for those who do not know the Savior, worry and
anxiety will be part of life. But to those who have given their lives
to Him, Jesus promised, “Come to me, all you who are weary and
burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn
from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest
for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew
11:28-30).

An Isabella man was arrested and
taken to jail after he allegedly became
drunk and pushed his wife in front of
their grandkid.
According to the affidavit, a Major
County deputy was dispatched to an
Isabella residence in the 120 block of
West Main on Feb. 25 in reference to a
peculiar phone call to dispatch. A male
subject told dispatch to get a deputy
to the mentioned address before he
“beats her up.” The caller then hung
up the phone.
When the deputy arrived at the residence, he made contact with a woman
who told him that her husband, 54-year-old Stanley Earl Richmond,
had been playing ball with their grandson. She said the ball kept hitting her.
She added that she brought home a 12-pack of beer after work and
her husband had been drinking tequila. She said that Richmond had
grabbed her arm; the deputy observed some bruising on her right
bicep.
Another deputy spoke with Richmond, who said that he had been
playing with his grandson when his wife “all of a sudden went psycho” and threw the empty tequila bottle at him. He said the bottle
missed him, but he retaliated by snapping her phone in half.
Police spoke with a witness, who said that she had the child stand
in the kitchen with her while Richmond and his wife were fighting.
A deputy spoke to the couple’s grandkid, who told him that he had
seen an altercation occur between his grandparents.
The deputy asked the couple how much they had ha to drink. Richmond told the officer he had between four to five shots of tequila and
five beers.
Richmond is being charged with domestic assault and battery in
the presence of a minor. He was released on a $1,500 bond and is
schedule to appear in court on April 2, 2014.
