We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

Anadarko man Coty Ray Osborne, 27,
tried to protect his drunk friends when
he was arrested for a DUI on June 22.
Apparently, he was also a repeat offender and should have known better
than to get behind the wheel after a few
too many.
At 1 a.m. on June 22, a state trooper
was parked at the intersection of 10th
Street and U.S. 412 in Enid when he saw
a vehicle pull up to a red light at the intersection. After the light turned green,
the driver of the vehicle accelerated
quickly and veered across the marked
centerline of the roadway, according to the affidavit.
The trooper pulled the vehicle over near 16th Street. The driver
exited his vehicle and identified himself as Osborne.
Osborne told the trooper that his driver’s license was not valid.
The trooper also discovered that Osborne had a warrant out of Grady
County.
The trooper was suspicious that Osborne might be drunk before
he placed him under arrest, but was unable to conduct standard field
sobriety tests because he feared Osborne might try to run due to his
wanted status.
It’s OK, though, because Osborne admitted he was inebriated.
He told the trooper that he was too drunk to be driving, but he
didn’t want the passengers in the vehicle to get in trouble because
they were also too drunk to be driving.
A breath test revealed that Osborne’s blood alcohol level was 0.13,
and a review of Osborne’s criminal history revealed that he had multiple arrests within the past 10 years for DUI.
Osborne is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under
the influence of alcohol and driving with license suspended. He was
released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
Aug. 11, 2014.

Police finally apprehended an Enid man who allegedly
broke into a local pharmacy multiple times and stole pills and
bottles.
Apparently, he was hard to catch because he liked to commit the robberies while dressed in head-to-toe camouflage.
According to the affidavit, an Enid police officer was dispatched to a pharmacy in the 800 block of West Randolph because an alarm had gone off. When he arrived, he saw a man
dressed in a camo jacket, camo pants and camo hat standing
near the pharmacy. When the man saw the officer, he started
to walk away. The officer saw a pill bottle fall from his pocket,
and he followed the man down an alley. The officer caught up
with the man, but the man took off running, more pill bottles
falling from his pocket.
The officer continued to yell at the man and attempted to use his Taser before finally catching up the subject and taking him to the ground.
After the officer placed him in handcuffs, the man identified himself as 39-year-old Jesse
Douglas Fisher. There were more pill bottles on the ground, and the officer found a bottle of
dexamethasone with the pharmacy’s name on Fisher’s person.
The officer transported Fisher to jail. Fisher admitted to breaking into the pharmacy and
taking the painkillers.
Fisher at first denied being responsible for previous burglaries at the pharmacy, but he
eventually told police, “Yes, I did it.” He then told police where they could find the stuff
he had stolen previously at his house. They went to his house in the 1300 block of West
Randolph and recovered empty bottles that had contained hydromorphone and morphine
sulfate, and a bottle of morphine sulfate pills. All of the bottles had the pharmacy’s name on
them.
After looking at previous reports, police discovered that the bottles matched the items that
were reported stolen from the pharmacy.
Fisher is being charged with three counts of burglary in the second degree, knowingly concealing stolen property and obstruction. His bond was set at $50,000, and he is scheduled to
appear in court on July 21, 2014.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

If you asked ten different
people, you might get
ten different answers.
Some might say that sin is
“doing something wrong
or breaking the law,” while
others might say that sin
is “hurting another person
or taking an innocent life.”
Still others might deny the
very existence of sin, saying
that there is no such thing
as right or wrong– in short, that there are no real absolutes in this world.
However, most people agree (regardless of culture) that there are certain
actions that are wrong, and should be punishable by fines, imprisonment or
even death.
Even the person who “doesn’t believe in right or wrong” would have a hard
time observing a maniac rape and murder a small child, and say that what
happened to them was not a crime.
Sin is a terminal disease that eats away at the very heart of this planet. It
destroys individual people, families, cultures, even the earth itself. Our world
is defiled by it, yet most people cannot even give a definition of the word, or
grasp the true gravity of the situation. What is sin? Surely sin is more that ten
different opinions from ten different people. Is there any final authority on
this subject?
The Bible says that sin is a heart condition. It is a condition of rebellion
against God, which stems from pride. The Bible even refers to pride as
“original sin.” The Hebrew definition of the word sin means “to miss the
mark.” God created us to be like Him, but our pride and rebellion make us
fall far short of that purpose. Our actions, though they may be “sinful” are
really only the fruit of our rebellion against God. Our outward actions merely
mirror our true inner condition. It is our true inner condition that God is
concerned with. He knows the “real you” better than you yourself do, because
he sees “the inner man” and all your secret thoughts and motives.
Bible Says:
What exactly is sin?

Arizona man collared for
trying to shoot moon
An Arizona man arrested for unlawfully discharging a
firearm told authorities that he was trying to shoot the
moon.
Prescott Valley police responded to the home after a
woman reported that her boyfriend had fired several
shots from a handgun and still was armed.
The woman and her teenage son told police that
39-year-old Cameron Read was talking about seeing
Halley’s Comet and fired a round out of the window.
They heard several more shots before fleeing.
Police say Read has been booked into the Yavapai County Jail on suspicion
of felony counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm, resisting arrest, disorderly
conduct and endangerment plus misdemeanor criminal damage.

When a state trooper stopped to
check on a stopped vehicle, the driver
informed him that he was lost, but he
wasn’t hurting anyone.
He was also drunk.
According to the affidavit, the trooper noticed the vehicle while patrolling
down County Road Badlands on June
20. The vehicle was driving slowly, and
it came to a stop on the side of the road.
The trooper walked up to the car and
immediately smelled a strong odor of
alcohol. He asked the driver if he needed help and where he was going.
The driver, 25-year-old Steven
Dwayne Rogers of Oakwood, told the trooper he was just going up
the road. The trooper asked if there were any open containers in the
vehicle, and Rogers said yes. The trooper asked Rogers to have a seat
in the patrol car.
Once in the vehicle, the trooper again smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Rogers’s person. Rogers also admitted he didn’t
have a valid driver’s license.
The trooper asked Rogers why he was driving without a license,
and Rogers replied, “I am just driving on the dirt road not causing
any harm to anyone and going to Newkirk.”
He later told the trooper he was lost. Rogers also had really slurred
speech and had a hard time walking.
The trooper attempted to administer field sobriety tests, but Rogers stopped and told him he was drunk.
Rogers is being charged with aggravated driving a motor vehicle
while under the influence of alcohol, driving under revocation, transporting opened container of beer and transporting open bottle or
container of liquor. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 25, 2014.

An Oklahoma City man driving recklessly in Maysville was arrested on June 16 for a DUI
after police saw him doing donuts in a parking lot and entering a liquor store without a shirt
on.
According to the affidavit, a Maysville officer was on patrol when he saw a vehicle leave a
parking lot in a cloud of dust. The officer followed the vehicle, and it stopped at a nearby liquor
store. A man with no shirt on and a passenger jumped out of the vehicle and went inside.
While waiting for the men to exit the store, the officer was advised of a report of a reckless
driver that matched the vehicle he was watching.
When the men came out of the liquor store, the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over,
but the driver had other ideas. A pursuit ensued, until the driver pulled in a driveway in the
900 block of Mays Street. He took off running, but seemed unable to run in a straight line. He
also kept putting his hand into his pocket as though he was trying to pull something out.
The officer caught up with him and took the driver, identified as Christopher Max Norman, 22, to the patrol car
and patted him down. He found a bag containing a green leafy substance that field-tested positive for marijuana.
In the vehicle, the officer found a marijuana joint, an opened bottle of whiskey, two more bottle of whiskey and an
open can of beer.
On Norman’s license, it specified that Norman had to have an ignition interlock system to be able to drive. The
vehicle he was driving didn’t, which rendered his license suspended.
The passenger told the officer he and Norman had been drinking quite a bit before they went to the liquor store
and got more liquor. He said he didn’t have anything to do with Norman trying to run from police, and when
Norman saw the officer he told him, “We’re about to go to jail; hang on.”
Norman refused to do any sobriety tests, and he became belligerent and started yelling once they were inside
the jail.
Norman is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, eluding/attempting to elude
police officer, transporting an open bottle or container of liquor and driving with license suspended. He was
released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 25, 2014.

When you’re drunk, police probably aren’t the people you want to call,
but an intoxicated Kingfisher woman
called police because she wanted a ride
to Walmart. They attempted to take her
home instead, but she wasn’t having
that.
According to the affidavit, Kingfisher
police were dispatched to Love’s on
July 1 in reference to a woman wanting a ride. The caller advised that the
woman was possibly intoxicated. When
they arrived, they saw a woman they
knew as 20-year-old Terry Ann Newer.
Newer told them in slurred speech she
wanted a ride to Walmart.
At least, that’s what they think she said. According to the police
report, she was difficult to understand.
Police told her that they don’t give rides to Walmart, but they
would take her home, but she told them she didn’t have a home. An
officer told her they would have to take her to jail if she didn’t have
anywhere else to go.
Newer told the officers that her ankle and back were broken and
she couldn’t walk. She then told them she wanted to go to the hospital.
After hospital staff made sure Newer was okay, police attempted to
take her to her mother’s house. She said that she wasn’t going in her
mother’s house, and she was going to walk the streets when they left.
Newer must have been hellbent on going to jail, because she was
very belligerent and verbally abusive toward her mom.
So, to jail it was!
Newer is being charged with public intoxication. Her bond was set
at $250, and she is scheduled to appear in court on July 21, 2014.
It’s off to
jail you go!

Two Watonga men who had
consumed too much alcohol were
arrested on June 29 after police
found them driving southbound
on state Highway 58 from Ringwood.
According to the affidavit, a state
trooper spotted the vehicle and attempted to signal it to stop with his emergency lights. When that
didn’t work, the trooper stepped out of his vehicle with his flashlight
and tried to signal it to stop.
The vehicle started driving across the centerline toward the trooper. The vehicle passed the trooper, and the driver and trooper made
eye contact. The vehicle was occupied by two men, and neither were
wearing seatbelts.
The trooper continued to yell at the car to stop, but it didn’t. Eventually, the vehicle did come to a stop. The trooper approached the vehicle, and noticed that the driver had watery eyes and the car smelled
like alcohol.
The subjects were identified as Carlos Hinojosa, 50, and Jose Juan
Duenez-Hernandez, 60.
Police located two open containers between the front seat, and attempted to conduct a field sobriety test, but the driver, Hinojosa, had
trouble understanding English. He was unsteady on his feet and refused to cooperate with a breath tests.
The passenger, Duenes-Hernandez, admitted to drinking 5 or 6
beers. He also had red, watery eyes and slurred speech.
The trooper placed the men under arrest and transported them to
jail.
Hinojosa is being charged with aggravated driving a motor vehicle
while under the influence of alcohol, transporting an opened container of beer, failure to comply with lawful order and driving without a driver’s license. He was released on a $10,000 bond.
Duenez-Hernandez is being charged with public intoxication and
transporting an open container. He was released on a $1,000 bond.
They are both scheduled to appear in court on August 6, 2014.

Summer is upon us, school is
out, and the time for recreation
and fun in the sun is here! With
summertime comes traffic to and from the lakes, as well as
numerous other endeavors that you can enjoy across the state,
including camping, riding horses, motorcycles, and atv’s, and other
activities too numerous to list here. One thing that a lot of these
activities have in common is towing something to and from these
locations. I’ve touched on this before, but it never hurts to re-visit
basic safety issues to keep in mind when towing a trailer, so here
goes!
One of the most important safety features that trailers come
equipped with are the safety chains or cables. These are required,
and must be in use when towing. These chains keep the trailer
attached to the vehicle should the coupling device break or
otherwise become disengaged. These chains or cables shall be of
sufficient size and strength to prevent parting from the towing
vehicle. A helpful hint when connecting your stay chains or cables
is to cross them under the tongue of the trailer. The stay chains or
cables must be attached in a manner to prevent the tongue from
falling to the ground, and crossing them allows the chains to catch
it if it should come off the coupling device.
Some larger trailers come equipped with an emergency
breakaway device. This device has a cable coming from it that must
be attached to the vehicle. If the trailer becomes disconnected from
the vehicle, when the cable is pulled tight, it automatically applies
the trailer brakes, preventing it from free-rolling. This device is
required on all trailers with a GVWR of 3000 lbs or more. Speaking
of brakes, state law requires that all brakes be maintained and in
good working order!
If you are breaking out this trailer for the first time since winter,
it’s a good idea to check the tires. Tires that sit for a long time
develop dry rot, flat spots, and lose pressure. Make sure that your
tires are in good working order, still have sufficient tread, and
check the pressure. Run the tires at the manufacturer’s suggested
psi for optimal performance.
Last but not least, we come to trailer lights. Make sure that all
your lights are functional. Plug them into the towing vehicle, and
check them all! Don’t assume that if they work in the daylight,
they will work at night, go ahead and check them with the towing
vehicle’s headlight switch turned on as well. If you are towing
more than one thing; in other words, towing in combination, only
the rearmost trailer’s lights must be operational.
Summertime is recreation time, and getting our toys to our
destination and back safely is the responsibility of every safe,
courteous driver. Lets all do our part to enjoy summer safely. As
always, thanks for reading, buckle up and be safe!

Registered Sex Offenders for The Area
FACT:
It is common for both child and adult
victims of sexual assault to wait some time
before telling someone about the abuse.
True. It is common for victims of sexual
assault to wait some time before telling someone.
When the person was assaulted as a child, he or
she may wait years or decades. The reasons for
this are numerous: victims may want to deny the
fact that someone they trusted could do this to
them; they may want to just put it behind them;
they may believe the myth that they caused the
assault by their behavior; or they may fear how
other people will react to the truth.
