PETIT LARCENY
Enid man Timothy Alexander Barry Jr., 24, was allegedly involved in two hit-and-runs during a drunken joyride on November
2.
According to the affidavit, Enid officers were dispatched to the
400 block of Chestnut around 5:30 p.m. for a hit-and-run accident. On the way, an officer saw a Jeep with a broken windshield.
The passenger of the vehicle stared at the officer as they drove by.
Shortly after, the officer was advised that the suspect vehicle had
possibly been involved in another accident.
The officer found the passenger walking southbound on Van Buren. The man admitted to being the passenger in a vehicle that
had wrecked, but he told police the driver’s name was “Homeboy.”
He said the man was wearing no shirt and no shoes -- just pajama
pants.
Police found the ill-clad man and his big dog near 500 West Rush. He seemed intoxicated
and smelled like booze.
When police detained the man, he started yelling and accusing officers of trying to kill his
dog.
Barry said he wasn’t in any wrecks. When asked about the window, he said it was already
like that.
Witnesses told a different story.
One witness said a van was at a stop sign in the 400 block of East Chestnut, when Barry
sped by in the Jeep, colliding with the van. The witness said Barry then flipped off the driver
and drove off.
Another witness said she saw the Jeep almost hit a truck. She said Barry lost control of his
vehicle, nearly hitting her and her 10-month-old son.
The Jeep was found on fire in an alley in the 1300 block of South Jackson. A woman said
when she saw the burning vehicle, she ran to see if the occupants were alright. Barry and his
passenger fled the scene.
During the investigation, Barry started yelling and became aggressive. He was arrested, but
refused to get out of the patrol car at the jail. He said he wasn’t getting out until he knew his
dog was alive (his dog was fine).
Jail staff dragged the man in and put him in a restraint chair.
Barry is being charged with leaving scene of accident involving nonfatal injury, driving a
motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and driving with license suspended. He
was released on a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on November 23, 2015.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol
This month’s Tips is less of a tip
than it is a serious request for help
from you, the motoring public. I would like to make a personal
appeal to each and every reader who sees this to help us Troopers
try to eliminate one of the toughest jobs that we ever have to do. It
is something that everyone who drives can have an impact on.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is tasked with the investigation
of motor vehicle accidents on the public roadways outside the city
limits in the State of Oklahoma. In the course of this, we investigate
a huge number of fatalities. For each fatality victim, it is the duty
of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to personally notify the next of
kin. For each life lost, there is a knock on a door somewhere, where
an OHP Trooper has to deliver news that will forever change the
lives of the person or persons on the other side. Sadly, these knocks
on the door could have been prevented by somebody involved in
the accident. Sometimes it’s the person who died whose unsafe or
unlawful action caused the accident that took their life. Often times
it is not.
Each and every Trooper you see working the roads every day
has had to knock on that door. I think if you asked, every single
one would tell you this is the worst aspect of our job. Trying to
prevent this is one of the reasons we do what we do. We know if we
work hard, we can stop some of these knocks. We also know the
motoring public can help us stop some of these knocks as well. The
following are just a few ways for you to do your part to help.
First and foremost, obey the law. It really doesn’t matter if
your personal opinion of the rules of the road don’t make sense,
or shouldn’t apply in certain situations. Each one of them is
designed for us to travel safely on the road. Slow down, and give
your full, undivided attention to the road. Watch out for the
other driver. When you see something happening ahead of you,
slow down! “I was late”, or “I was texting” just doesn’t cut it as
responses to a grieving family when they ask why this happened. Is
it something you could live with if it was your reason for taking a
life?
The people on the other side of that knock aren’t the only ones
affected by the experience. We Troopers have all held strangers
as the initial horror and shock of the news takes hold of them. We
have all prayed with families we just met, and asked if we could
have done more to prevent it. Each and every day we are trying
to stop The Knock. Now I’m asking you to help us. Thanks for
reading, buckle up, and be safe!
Tips from a Trooper rewind

Oklahoma City man William John Gross, 55, took advantage
of a good-willed churchgoer and stole the man’s phone and vehicle. He then drove the vehicle while wasted and wrecked it.
On October 25, a state trooper was dispatched to the 185
mile marker on I-35 at approximately 1:30 p.m. A vehicle had
wrecked, and it was suspected as stolen.
When the trooper arrived, he made contact with the driver,
identified as Gross. The vehicle matched the description of one
that had been reported as stolen.
Gross smelled like alcohol and he had watery bloodshot eyes.
Three witnesses at the scene told police they saw Gross crash
the vehicle. After the collision, they said he exited the vehicle
and started walking away from the wreck.
During the investigation, the owner of the car arrived on
scene and said Gross stole his vehicle from church. The victim
said he was at church that morning, and Gross approached him and asked for some money or
food. When the good Samaritan went to fetch the man some coffee, Gross allegedly grabbed
his keys and phone and took off.
The victim said they were able to locate his car through the phone’s GPS.
According to the police report, Gross was first transported to the hospital, where field sobriety tests and a portable breath test showed “high results.”
Gross is being charged with unauthorized use of vehicle and person involved in personal
injury accident while under the influence of alcohol or intoxication liquor. His bond was set
at $2,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court on November 18, 2015.

A suspicious OKC man who was caught wandering around
on the Chisholm Trail Technology Center campus was arrested after police determined he was high on meth.
According to the police report, officers responded to the
area around 11:35 a.m. on October 30 due to the suspicious
man. The suspect was walking down Highway 33 and was on
CCTC grounds -- the school was on lockdown.
CCTC staff reported that the man had tried to get inside.
When a state trooper made contact with the man, he found
him standing near the front entrance. The man identified
himself as Brandon Williams Wilson, 42.
WIlson appeared disoriented and told officers he walked to
CCTC to use the phone, even though he had a cellphone on
his person. He also said he was working in the area, but he
left his jobsite.
Wilson seemed nervous and agitated while speaking to officers, and police determined he was acting like he was under the influence of methamphetamine.
During the investigation, Wilson started to become aggressive toward officers. He tried to
leave, but when an officer told him he couldn’t go anywhere, he only became angrier.
Due to the man’s odd behavior and the fact that he was probably high on meth, officers decided to placed the man under arrest.
When a Kingfisher deputy tried to put him in handcuffs, Wilson refused to follow commands.
He kept trying to get away from the officer and pulled his arms away. He continued to resist,
despite officer commands, and he sang “some type of religious phrases” out loud while resisting arrest. Whomever Wilson was singing to obviously wasn’t on the man’s side, because police
soon had him in handcuffs.
Wilson’s friend arrived on scene and told police Wilson called him to come pick him up. He
said that he and Wilson completed a drug rehabilitation in June.
Wilson was transported to jail, where he admitted to smoking meth the night before.
Wilson is being charged with resisting an officer, obstructing an officer and public intoxication. His bond was set at $1,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on November 23, 2015.

When a Fairview man allegedly broke
into a property in August and stole a
bunch of stuff, he promised he would
give it all back. And he did -- except for
an air conditioner.
Hey, it gets hot in Oklahoma!
According to the police report, a man
reported the stuff stolen on August 22,
2015. He told an officer someone broke
into his rental property at 7th and Ash.
The victim said the previous tenants
had left stuff inside the home, but they
would be back to get it.
Except they weren’t the ones to clear it out. 41-year-old Jason Burl
Kammerzell was. Kammerzell allegedly broke into the residence and
stole a large amount of property, including a window air conditioning unit.
When an officer went to the man’s residence, Kammerzell admitted to taking the items. He told the officer he would return the stolen property to the owners. He returned everything except for the air
conditioner.
As of October 22, the admitted thief still hadn’t returned the unit.
An officer went back to the man’s residence and asked him what
was going on. Kammerzell said he still had the air conditioner, but
it was at his friend’s house. He told the officer that his friend would
be home that evening and he would go get it. He promised to call the
officer after he picked up the air conditioning unit.
He never did, so he wound up getting himself arrested.
Kammerzell is being charged with burglary in the second degree.
His bond was set at $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on December 10, 2015.

False. Children often do not tell for a

loves, as well as shame, embarrassment,
wanting to protect the offender, feelings
for the offender, fear of being held
responsible or being punished, fear of
being disbelieved, and fear of losing the
offender who may be very important to
