You might be a kleptomaniac if
you feel inclined to steal random
meds from a hospital just because
you can.
A Poteau man was locked up after
surveillance cameras caught him
stealing medication from the Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center.
On Oct. 25, Poteau police were
notified of a reported theft of narcotics at the hospital. According to
the affidavit, hospital staff told police that a vial of magnesium sulfate
and an intravenous use bottle of nitroglycerin had been stolen
from a locked cart in the radiology department.
Police reviewed the security footage and were able to identify
the subject as Nelson Burton Hobbs, 31. They went to Hobbs’
residence and told him that there were there to speak to him
about drugs stolen from the hospital.
Rather than deny knowledge of the theft, Hobbs told police,
“Yeah, I don’t know where I put that stuff.”
Police told Hobbs and his father that the stolen medication
would be life threatening if it was improperly administered.
Hobbs turned over a large vial of nitroglycerin, a small vial of
lidocaine and an unidentified vial. Police transported Hobbs to
the police department to be interviewed.
Hobbs agreed to speak with the officers and told them he had
been at the hospital the night before with his girlfriend. He said
they had been at the hospital for awhile, so he began walking
around the property.
He said he saw an empty area and found what he described as
a toolbox. Hobbs said he “opened some drawers of the toolbox
and grabbed some stuff.”
He threw one of the vials from the toolbox in a trashcan, however, because he said it wouldn’t fit in his pockets.
Hobbs was transported to the LeFlore County Detention Center. During booking, police found narcotics on Hobbs’ person.
Hobbs is being charged with grand larceny and possession of
a controlled dangerous substance. He was freed on a $5,000
bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5, 2013.

Two Keota women were taken to the Leflore County Jail after their erratic behavior led police to finding drugs
and illegal items in a first aid kit in their vehicle.
A Leflore County deputy was on patrol Nov. 2 in Spiro when he observed a vehicle make an extremely wide
turn without using a turn signal, the affidavit states.
He activated his emergency equipment and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the driver, Betty Michelle Bloxham, 53, and her passenger, Tina Jean Copeman, 40.
He noticed that the women were acting very nervous and would not make eye contact with him. When he
asked the women for identification, he noticed their movements were very erratic.
The deputy went back to his patrol car to check for warrants. Although dispatch informed the deputy that the
women did not have any warrants, he noticed that they were moving very erratically inside the vehicle.
He returned to their car and noticed that they both appeared to be under some kind of intoxicant.
He asked Bloxham to step out of the vehicle; she acted very nervous and was unable to stand still.
The deputy asked her if she was under the influence of any narcotics or medication that would cause her to
act that way. She told him that she had been taking medicine for her stomach, but she didn’t know the name of
the pills.
The deputy asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle. Bloxham assured him that there wasn’t and gave
him permission to search her car.
Well, Bloxham was most certainly telling the deputy a lie, because he happened to stumble upon some prohibited items in Bloxham’s car.
The deputy found a white first aid kit in the back seat that contained a plethora of items including drug paraphernalia and a pill bottle that contained several kinds of pills. Upon further inspection, police found smoking
pipes with residue, syringes, digital scales, and Ziploc baggies containing a white crystal-like substance and a
green leafy substance.
Both women are being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana
and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. They were both released on $15,000 bonds. Copeman is scheduled to appear in court on
Dec. 3, 2013, and Bloxham is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 26, 2013.

“Be of sober spirit, be on
the alert. Your adversary,
the devil, prowls around
like a roaring lion,
seeking someone to
devour. But resist him” (I
Peter 5:8-9).
Everything was going
well for you. Money in
your pocket. You wanted
to spend it. You knew how
to spend it. Your choice
was a sobering experience.
The Bible says you have
an enemy who wants to
destroy your life. To trap
you. Your choice was a
bad one. You had a wreck.
Picked up for possession.
You didn’t control your
anger. The roaring lion
caught you. You failed to “resist him”. Deceived.
The devil catches people by getting them to think, “It’ll be OK!”,
when it isn’t OK. You were devoured! It doesn’t need to happen
again. Seek God and you will find Him (Acts 17:27).

December is National Drunk and Drugged
Driving Prevention Month, a time to raise
awareness about the consequences of driving
under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Get the Facts
• Every day, almost 30 people in the United
States die in motor vehicle crashes that
involve an alcohol- impaired driver. (Source:
CDC)
• In 2010, there were 431 alcohol- related motor vehicle fatalities
in Ohio. (Source: Ohio DPS)
• Of drivers tested, 1/3 of fatally
injured drivers in Ohio tested
positive for drugs from 2005-2009. (Source: NHTSA)
Drugged Driving Prevention
• All drivers must understand that drugged driving is as dangerous
as drunk driving and that driving under the influence of certain
prescription medications is considered impaired driving.
• As with a drunk driver, never ride in a car with a driver you
suspect is under the influence.
Drunk Driving Prevention
• Designate a sober driver before celebrations begin.
• Never serve those under the age of 21 alcohol.
• Plan safe parties, including providing non-alcoholic drink options
to guests and not serving alcohol the last hour of the gathering.

Eighteen-year-old Brittany
Phillips was a student who
was taking courses at Tulsa
Community College and was
days away from her 19th
birthday. She was described as a
bubbly, happy person who had
no known enemies, the type of
girl who always kept in contact
with family and friends and was
always responsible, taking her
school work seriously. So it was
surprising when she suddenly stopped showing up to TCC
and couldn’t be reached by phone.
On October 1, 2004, after a couple days of missed classes,
a concerned friend decided to stop over Brittany’s apartment
at Union Apartments, where she was living alone. She walked
into a horrifying scene, Brittany’s decomposing body. She
had been laying there for several days.
The last time anyone had contact with Brittany was on the
evening of September 27, 2004. Sometime during the latenight hours of 09/27/04 and the early-morning hours of
09/28/04, an unidentifi ed man was in her apartment. It is
unknown if he was invited in or broke in. She was assaulted,
raped and then strangled to death and he left her bruised and
battered body lying on her bed in her second fl oor apartment.
Since her murder, authorities have interviewed MANY
people and have compared thousands of DNA with no luck.

On Friday, October 18, an Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against
Children Task Force member from the Edmond Police Department
arrested Stephen DeWayne Huckeba, 52, at his residence. The case
was initiated by an Edmond detective into the distribution of child
pornography on the Internet. Huckeba distributed more than a
dozen child pornography videos to the detective.
Task force members from the Edmond Police Department,
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Oklahoma Attorney
General’s Office, with the assistance of the Logan County Sheriff’s
Office, served a search warrant at Huckeba’s residence, 200 East
Rock Circle Drive in southern Logan County.
During the search of the residence, several computer-related items
were located and seized. Huckeba admitted to the Edmond detective that he distributed and
possessed child pornography images and videos.
The computer items will be taken to the Edmond police computer laboratory for forensic
examination. The case is still under investigation to determine if any local children are in any
of the images.
Huckeba was booked into the Logan County Jail and is charged with one count of
distribution of child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography, and
violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.

Hello to all, and Happy
Thanksgiving! By the time you
read this, you will have probably made all your holiday travel plans,
if you are going somewhere, or have people coming to your home to
celebrate. The roadways will be extra busy, and with a lot of people
traveling at the same time, the chances for accidents also go way
up. I’m going to give a few tips on how to minimize your chances
of being involved in an accident, and some ways to help insure your
holidays are safe.
Every year, we work a lot of accidents on people who are “running
late”. Speed plays a major role in accidents, as well as the severity of
an accident. Speed decreases reaction time, which a driver needs to
be able to react to anything that happens in front of them. What is
the best thing you can do to not be “running late”? Simply plan your
holiday travel a little in advance. You know what time you and your
family get off work, or get out of school, so plan your departure time
accordingly. Give yourself plenty of time for delays, bathroom and
snack stops, etc. Also, if you are running late, its OK! The people
you are going to see would rather you be late, than not arrive at all
because you were involved in an accident.
Another major factor in holiday accidents are a result of
celebrating, and then making a bad decision. I’m not going to tell
you not to enjoy your holiday, and if partaking in some egg nog or
other alcoholic drink is part of your celebration, that’s fine. Just
don’t decide to drive after you drink. Drinking and driving is a
decision, not an accident. Planning here goes a long way towards
a safe holiday. If you know you are going to drink, plan on staying
where you are, or have a designated driver.
Another thing you can do to stay safe is wear your seat belt. The
accident may not be your fault, and you may be doing everything
right, and could still end up in the hospital or worse, because you
didn’t have your seatbelt on. Even minor accidents can cause
significant damage to us if we are not properly restrained. Every
Trooper on the road has worked a fatality accident which we all
know in our heart would not have resulted in death had the person
been using a seatbelt. It takes no time to put on, but it may be the
most important thing you can do this holiday season.
To sum up, slow down and enjoy the holiday season! Plan ahead,
and use a designated driver or stay put if you use alcohol in your
celebrations. No one wants to spend the holidays in a hospital or
worse!
Holidays are for celebration, so lets take care of ourselves and
each other. Thanks for listening, buckle up and drive safe.

In October 2009, Bobby Jamison, Sherilyn Jamison,
and Madyson Jamison disappeared. A search for
the Jamison family soon resulted in their pickup being located near the Sans Bois Mountains in Latimer
County. An exhaustive search was conducted, but the
Jamison family was never found.
On November 16, 2013, at approximately 5:00 p.m.,
deer hunters in Northern Latimer County came across
human skeletal remains. Law enforcement authorities responded to the area where the remains were located. Upon closer
examination of the scene, skeletal remains of two adults and one child
were located in this area, which is in northern Latimer County, south of
Kinta, Oklahoma.
The Latimer County Sheriff’s Office, Haskell County Sheriff’s Office,
OSBI, FBI, and State Medical Examiner’s Office offered resources at the
scene and conducted an intensive search of the area.
The area where the human remains were found is a very rugged,
mountainous region, making search efforts more difficult. No evidence
at the scene aided in the identification of the remains, which were turned over to the State
Medical Examiner’s Office.
Law enforcement authorities do not have any information to indicate these human remains
are that of the Jamison family; however, since the remains were found approximately 2.7
aerial miles northwest of where Bobby Jamison’s pickup was found in 2009, authorities are
looking into the possibility of the remains belonging to the Jamison family.

A call from an anonymous informant
led to the arrest of a Wilburton man on
Nov. 9.
According to the affidavit, the informant called the Latimer County Sheriff’s
Office and told a deputy that he or she
wanted to make a statement regarding illicit drug use and possession of meth at a
residence in a local trailer park.
Police secured a search warrant for the
residence and served the warrant later
that evening. The deputy initially made contact with a male outside the residence, later identified as Marcus E. Jeffers, 50, and
instructed him to lie on the ground.
The man complied with the deputy’s commands, and the deputy entered the home, where he encountered six children and
six adults.
He presented the occupants of the home with the search warrant and instructed them to exit the residence. They complied
and the adults were placed in hand restraints.
Police conducted a search of the adults; they found a plastic
bag that contained a white, crystal-like powder substance, which
later tested positive for methamphetamine, in Jeffers’ pocket.
After further inspection, police found that the bag in Jeffers’
pocket actually contained 10 separate bags that were full of the
white substance.
Jeffers was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
Jeffers is being charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of controlled dangerous substances with intent to distribute within
2,000 feet of a school. His bond was set at $25,000.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

An Oklahoma City couple is in a whole lot
of trouble after they attempted to smuggle
in a whole lot of illegal items into the prison
in Mcalester.
On Nov. 3, Pittsburg County deputies
were informed of a male running across the
grounds of the prison and a white car moving back and forth in front of the prison.
Police apprehended the subjects, Misty
Dawn Johnson, 20, and Aaron Lusty, 19.
A deputy placed the driver of the car,
Johnson, into handcuffs and noticed something rolled up with black tape around it in
the passenger seat. Johnson told the deputy
she was sorry and that this was the first time
she had ever done anything like this.
During an inventory the car, police found
meth, marijuana, a bottle and baggy full of
Xanax and a cell phone wrapped in black
tape. Police were informed that Lusty had
dropped off drugs and cell phones at the
prison.
Johnson told police her boyfriend had asked her to drive him to
the prison to drop off some items for an inmate. Police asked if she
knew what the items were and she said yes, explaining that Lusty
had a sack full of cell phones, tobacco, marijuana and a baggy of
crystal meth.
Lusty agreed to speak to police and told them that his girlfriend
did not know about any of the items in the car and why they were at
the prison. He explained that he asked her to drive him to the prison
so he could drop off some cell phones, marijuana, tobacco and crystal meth for an inmate.
They are both being charged with conspiracy to bring controlled
substances into state penal institution, conspiracy to bring cell
phone into state penal institution, bringing methamphetamine into
state penal institution, bringing marijuana into state penal institution, bringing Xanax into state penal institution, bringing cell phone
into state penal institution, bringing cell phone into state penal institution, unlawful possession of controlled dangerous substances
(meth) with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of controlled
drug (marijuana) with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of
controlled drug (Xanax) with intent to distribute, conspiracy to
bring tobacco into state penal institution and bringing tobacco into
state penal institution. They were both released on a personal recognizance bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5, 2013.

What you’re saying
about this on...
Valerie W: R.I.P Prayers go out to the
family.
Shawna A: THOUGHTS FOR THIS
FAMILY .
Jay A: Sad.
Janae Marie H: PRAYERS
Brittany W: Why do we have such lenient
laws for drinking and driving?!? This man
needs LWOP at the minimum! This poor boy
and his poor parents. I can’t even imagine....
Jerry D: Things like this makes me
wonder why alcohol is legal, but other way
less dangerous things are illegal.
Sabrah B: No im not a weed smoker but
I know ppl. But why is this legal? How many
accidents or deaths caused of alcohol? A
lot! Now how many accidents or death has
weed caused? Answer that one. This world
is getting way outta hand. My heart hurts for
this family I couldn’t imagine. Prayers for this
boy and his family!
Jerry D: Not only the dangers of drinking
and driving, but health related damage and
mental and physical abuse. Alcohol hurts
thousands a year. Yet its legal. Weed on the
other hand helps people, no reported deaths
or ODs, but yet its illegal. Makes perfect
sense.
Desiree H: Very sad. What was he
doing riding his bike at 11:00pm. That man
should’ve been driving and that little boy
should’ve never have been out that late riding
his bike. He should’ve been at home in his
pj’s. Everyone dropped the ball on this one.
Jerry D: Most parents now days could care
less what there kids are doing as long as they
don’t bother the parents. Sad indeed.
Jennifer R: I was wondering the same
thing. I hope that he was coming back from
something at school or church, not just
running the streets at that time. So sad for the
family. I hope they find justice
LittleWeasel W: But wait according to
folks who love to get drunk. Alcohol has never
hurt anyone.
Virginia I: No blame except for the
person who hit the child, A family has lost
a son,brother,grandchild,friend May God
protect and cover this family in this awful
time
Ruby Raechel H: Billy was riding his
bike home from a church event called eternal
fraternity. It’s something for kids to do on
Friday and Saturday nights.
Amy S: Who gives a sh** what the boy
was doing out that late. For Christs sake, is
it the parents fault now that he was allowed
to leave the home? For buying him a bike?
What about what his brother had to witness?
How his parents feel? You’re first thought is
“why was he out that late”? Pathetic. Really
pathetic. Tragedy happens everyday and
people are always looking for someone to pass
the blame to. God bless everyone involved in
this tragedy.
Abe T: A life has been taken and all you
people can worry bout why he was out late the
real ? Why was the man drinking and driving
the kid could have been in another car and
the man driving drunk could still have killed
that kid by hitting another vehicle this a little
kid who didn’t know he was gonna die riding
his bike home but the man knew drinking and
driving could kill someone and it did so think
about that you heartless people if it was your
kid you wouldn’t be saying things like we’re
was the parents news flash kids get hit by
people driving drunk during the day too
Dustin K: judgemental a** people, i
swear.... it doesnt matter what the kid was
doing. his life is over and you people wanna
blame his parents?
Stephanie S: Where in this story does
it say he was riding a bike? It’s horrible to
hear ANOTHER person has lost a life due to
stupidity...but where am I missing the bike
part?
Taken too soon
A 12-year-old Wagoner boy was killed Nov. 9 by a driver suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. Chief
of Police Bob Haley said the boy was riding home with his
brother when he was hit by an SUV.
Haley said the two brothers were northbound on North
Story Avenue near N.E. Ninth Street just before 11 p.m. Billy
Lord, 12, was struck by a northbound SUV driven by Richard Roth of Wagoner.
Roth left the scene but later returned, Haley said.
The other brother was not injured.
Haley said Roth, 34, was booked on anticipated charges of manslaughter
and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. Any other charges will
await the results of a blood test, but police do have reason to suspect alcohol
is a factor, he said.

The following is the tale of Checotah woman Connie Sue Teague, 36, who used her children to enable her habit of
driving under the influence of alcohol.
On Nov. 2, a Checotah police officer saw a vehicle driving around town, committing traffic violations such as turning without the use of a signal. According to the affidavit, the officer ran the tag number through dispatch and was
informed that the vehicle was driven by Teague, who had a suspended license.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Teague. Her 8-year-old son was also in the vehicle. There
was a strong odor of alcohol coming from her car, and she had bloodshot watery eyes.
The officer asked Teague to have a seat in his patrol car. He asked her how much alcohol she had consumed and she
told him none. After the officer informed her that she reeked of alcohol, she admitted to drinking two beers.
Due to previous violations, Teague’s vehicle was equipped with an interlock device that required the breath of a sober person to start the car. The officer asked Teague how she had started her car, and she told him that she blew into the device and it started.
After checking her license for warrants, the officer asked Teague how she would do on a field sobriety test. She told him that she would
do fine.
Teague’s son told police that his mom asked him to blow into the device so the vehicle would start.
Teague denied the accusation and told the officer that she could blow into the device right then and start her car.
Although Teague did not perform well on the field sobriety tests, she continued to assert that she could breathe into the device and start
her car.
The officer told her, “Let’s try it.”
Teague responded, ‘Well, it might not start because I had been drinking.”
They walked over to her car and Teague breathed into the device. Not surprisingly, the car did not start. The officer placed Teague under
arrest. He asked her son if he could blow into the device; the boy did as the officer asked and sure enough, the car started.
Teague is being charged with child endangerment by driving under the influence. She was freed on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to
appear in court on Jan. 8, 2014.
She huffed and she puffed - and she still
couldn’t start her car

Police out helping keep the streets clean arrested
a man suspected of stealing a street sweeper.
According to Sacramento Police, offi cers out on
patrol near Truxel Road and Brewerton Drive saw
a street sweeper truck peel out of a parking lot and
onto the street.
The truck promptly ran a red light – and didn’t
have its headlights on – prompting the offi cers to try
and pull the street sweeper over. However, police
note, the driver pushed on and didn’t stop until he
had hit three parked cars. The driver then bolted
from the truck.
A police perimeter was set up in the area, but
the suspected driver – 18-year-old Lavonn Dill –
eventually surrendered himself to a K-9 offi cer.
Dill now faces charges of fl eeing, possession of a
stolen vehicle and hit-and-run charges.
A Florida man who was doing a mean-spirited
Santa Claus impression might be spending Christmas
behind bars after getting caught in the chimney of a
Naples, Fla., home during an attempted burglary.
Richard Tyler Brandon, 25, got trapped in a
chimney after running out of cash during a night
out. His friend, Derek Grenfell, alerted two Naples
police offi cers about the situation after it became
apparent Brandon was stuck.
A team of police offi cers and local fi re department
offi cials broke into the home and saw Brandon’s foot
hanging in the fi replace.
“I said, ‘Dude, you’re not Santa Claus, what are
you doing?’” Grenfell reportedly said to the police.
It took two hours, but Brandon was freed from the
chimney and taken to the hospital for treatment of
issues including leg pain and trouble breathing. It
could have been worse.
“There is a chance he could have died,” said
Naples Detective Robert Young. “That space he was
jammed into was really tight. He couldn’t move.”
Brandon was hit with two burglary charges and
Grenfell was charged as an accessory to the crime
after the fact.
A Vero Beach, Fla., man who was angry with his
wife left a phony bomb on a kitchen counter, an
Indian River County Sheriff ’s Offi ce spokesman.
Randolph Smith, 51, was arrested on charges of
aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, planting
a hoax bomb and resisting arrest without violence.
Deputies received a call from a woman who said
her husband left a gray pipe with a wire protruding
from one end on the kitchen counter. There were
several hand-written notes on the counter, including
one that read, “This is (an) explosive. (It’s) a bomb.”
Smith’s wife told deputies she is in the process of
getting a divorce.
The bomb squad was called and determined that
the device didn’t contain any explosives.
Deputies tracked Smith down at a Burger King
and arrested him. During questioning, Smith tried to
leave the interview room and had to be handcuff ed,
according to the arrest report.
Smith told detectives that he left the hoax bomb
on the counter because his wife “pissed him off .”

A Stigler man with an alleged penchant for ink
pens was arrested after he admitted to taking
items from vehicles at a local body shop and attempting to sell the stolen goods.
On Oct. 25, a Stigler police officer received a
call from employees at the body shop that they
had had some stuff stolen from vehicles, according to the affidavit.
The officer went to the body shop and spoke
to the owner, who said he noticed a radio in his
truck wasn’t working; upon further inspection, he realized his antenna
was missing. The owner told the officer that he mentioned the missing antenna to one of his employees, who told him that Brandon Chad
Cole, 30, had tried to sell him an antenna and a set of jumper cables.
The owner said that he told his customers to check their vehicles
for missing items. In a very thorough inspection, one customer said
he was missing a case of CDs, three cigars and four ink pens. Another
customer said he was missing a GPS and four ink pens.
The owner said Cole was a former employee whose last day of work
was on Oct. 22. Cole had shown up at work and told the owner he was
sick. He then messed up a paint job on a fender, so the owner sent him
home.
Cole had allegedly tried to give another employee four ink pens (who
knew ink pens were such a hot commodity?), but left them on her desk
after she told him she didn’t want them.
One of the customers identified the ink pens as his.
The officer spoke to Cole on Oct. 26. Cole admitted to taking the
owner’s antenna, but said he had used it to unlock his car and forgot to
put it back. He asserted that he didn’t know anything about the other
stolen items, including the ink pens.
Cole is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property.
He was freed on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
Nov. 19, 2013.
