Idabel Man Sentenced To 66 Months
For Possession Of Firearm, Ammunition
Nickey Lynn Anderson, 35, of Idabel, was
sentenced to 66 months imprisonment and
three years supervised release for Felon In
Possession Of Firearm And Ammunition. The
charges arose from an investigation by the
Idabel Police Department and the Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The Indictment alleged that on or about
August 5, 2017, Anderson, having been
convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, knowingly possessed in and affecting commerce,
a Jimenez, Model JA-25, .25 automatic caliber pistol and six rounds G.F.L. (Giuilio Fiocchi, Lecco) .25 automatic caliber ammunition
which had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce.
United States Attorney Brian J. Kuester said, “This investigation and prosecution is the result of the continued cooperative approach to public safety taken by law enforcement agencies in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
State, local, tribal and federal investigative and prosecutorial agencies work
together to maximize the impact of our limited resources. We best serve our
communities and the people who call the Eastern District of Oklahoma home
when we have strong working relationships.”
The Honorable Ronald A. White, U.S. District Judge in the United States
District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, presided
over the hearing. Assistant United States Attorney John David Luton represented the United States. Anderson will remain in custody pending transportation to the designated federal facility at which the non-paroleable sentence
will be served.

PUSHMATAHA COUNTY SHERIFF
BJ HEDGECOCK 207 SW 3RD ST
ANTLERS, OK 74523
(580) 298-2475
On November 13, in the early morning hours,
Pushmataha County Sheriff B. J. Hedgecock requested OSBI investigative assistance on a homicide. Richard Daryl Medlock, 34, was found
dead at 452250 East 1620 Road, Albion, by another resident. The OSBI is investigating the matter and following leads. If you have information
please call the OSBI tip line at (800) 522-8017 or
the Pushmataha County Sheriff’s Office.
“We are working on leads and trying to identify
a suspect; this takes time,” Sheriff Hedgecock
stated via social media. “I have requested the OSBI to lead the investigation and the rumors are getting out of control, causing lots of man hours
lost following up on rumors that are not true. When I receive information
that is true - I will update the citizens of this county. I have always been
transparent to the citizens, but at this time there isn’t any information to release. The OSBI and deputies along with many other agencies have been
following up on leads day and night.”

6 | JANUARY 2019 PUSHMATAHA COUNTY Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty
A woman in Florida got so excited after stealing a family’s Apple technology that she decided to take some selfies of her own. She had stolen
an iPad and an iPod Touch out of their car while they were visiting one of
Florida’s regional parks. Apparently not realizing that photos taken on an
Apple device will show up on the computer, her selfies surfaced on the
family’s iCloud account two weeks later. All of these pictures are able to
be located geographically.
A middle-aged man was stopped by police as he rode his horse down
the streets of Colorado. Why? He was seen hitting the horse, but told the
police there was a fly on his head. Further investigation revealed that he
had a small gun, a pug (yes, you understood correctly), and beer cans in
tow. Not surprisingly, he failed an intoxication test and was charged with
animal cruelty, possession of weapons, and drunk riding.
Have you ever accidentally gotten high? Like, you thought it was a
normal brownie, or normal mushrooms. But nope, turns out you’re absolutely tripping. Good luck explaining that one to the police. The only
thing less convincing than that is…”accidentally” growing marijuana on
your property. This is exactly what happened to a 73 year old man, who
claims he found the seeds in a random box and decided to plant them.
Lo and behold, up grows some weed. The man showed no sign of being
a pot smoker, yet paid the $200 dollar ticket without argument anyway.
Hopefully he’ll stay away from mystery seeds from now on.
How impatient do you get when waiting for your food to microwave?
Worse yet is when you finally think it’s done, but the plate is a burning
fire disc from the sun’s core and your food could have been found in the
fur of a frozen wooly mammoth from the arctic. How mad would you
get? Hopefully not angry enough to use the microwave as a weapon,
like a guy in St. Louis. A 43 year old man and a 36 year old man got into
a heated argument over “personal matters”, resulting in a knife being
pulled and a microwave oven being thrown. Both were admitted to the
hospital with serious forehead wounds. I don’t remember these being
part of the Easy Mac directions???
We’ve all seen those movies about crazy people who believe demons
live in their house, right? Terrifying stuff, but the demons are probably
more scared of you than you are of them. Just…grab a big shoe. And kill
all the flies so they have nothing to eat. Oh. Maybe I’m thinking of something else, something scarier. One guy in Arizona was so freaked out he
almost burnt down the house. With his roommates still home, he started
a fire in his bedroom closet where he believed they were hiding. He used
paint thinner, and is reported to have been reciting Bible verses. He said
he had planned to tell the police but forgot, and he was admitted to the
hospital with burns on his feet. The important thing is, the house is now
100% demon free.
STUPID CRIMINALS
OSBI Arrests Nicoma Park Police Officer for
Child Sexual Abuse
On November 1, the OSBI was requested by
the Fairview Heights (Illinois) Police Department
to assist with a child sexual abuse case. Three
separate victims disclosed sexual abuse by Michael Lindsey, 35, that had occurred since 2008,
in Oklahoma, Illinois, and Tennessee. An investigation was initiated by the OSBI in conjunction
with Illinois and Tennessee authorities.
On December 5, 2018, agents with the OSBI
and detectives with the Fairview Heights Police
Department contacted Lindsey at his residence in
Harrah, Oklahoma. Lindsey was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma
County Jail on 14 counts of Child Sexual Abuse and one count of Sexual
Battery. Lindsey’s bond is $145,000.
A search warrant was served on his residence and the investigation continues.

Lehigh man arrested for domestic
abuse, assaulting officer
A 41-year-old Lehigh man was put behind bars on December 5 after he allegedly
abused people in his home and attacked officers who came to arrest him.
The police report states a Coal County
deputy was dispatched to a residence on D
Avenue in Lehigh at approximately 4:48 p.m.
He was advised that a man was being verbally abusive to some people at the residence.
When the deputy arrived, he found Ronald
Wayne Yarbrough and two other people in
a bedroom. He asked the victims what was
going on. They told him that Yarbrough had
assaulted them and was holding them inside
the room.
The deputy asked Yarbrough to walk outside so he could speak to him about the incident. Yarbrough replied, “I’m not
going anywhere without my son.”
The deputy observed that the man was sweating profusely and seemed to
be under the influence of a stimulating drug.
While the deputy was still in the room, Yarbrough hit one of the victims on
the arm and pulled her to the floor. The deputy grabbed the man, who began
pulling away.
Other deputies arrived to assist. One of the deputies sprayed Yarbrough
with OC spray. Yarbough kicked and spit on the deputies while resisting arrest. The officers were eventually able to get the man under control and take
him to jail.
Yarbrough is being charged with six counts of battery/assault and battery
on police officer, domestic abuse and battery, and resisting an officer. His
bond was set at $21,000 for the charges of battery/assault and battery on
police officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 20, 2018.

five arrested in drug bust, Achille
councilman amoung the arrested
An Achille man who was elected by his peers to serve
the community was arrested on December 4 after police found drugs and guns in his home.
According to reports, councilman Lynn Chambers
was locked up just a month after Achille’s mayor, David
Northcutt, was also arrested for drug charges.
While searching Chambers’s home, police found more
than 200 grams of methamphetamine, two pounds of
marijuana and several guns.
Valarie Clark, Corey Clark, Betty Chambers, Justin Chambers were also arrested during the drug bust
for meth trafficking and possession of weapons. The
suspects could also face child endangerment charges, since children were in the home at the time of the
search.
Chambers is no stranger to dealing with the law. He
was arrested for embezzlement in 2010 when he was
the mayor of Achille, but was found not guilty for the
charges.

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty 19 | JANUARY 2019 CHOCTAW COUNTY
AN UNLIKEY STORY
Hugo man Alex Ray Howser, 19, and 21-year-old Jacob Dakota Taylor, of Soper, were caught illegally hunting on some private land and put behind bars the evening of December 1.
According to the affidavit, an officer was dispatched
to the property earlier that day, near the intersection of
N. 4220 Road and E. 2020 Road in Hugo. The landowner told him some people were illegally hunting on
her property. Someone had shot the locks off of the
gate, and there were bullet holes in the front door of a
travel trailer.
Around 5:50 p.m., the officer was dispatched back to
the property. The landowner said she and some neighbors had stopped two men leaving the area. The officer
arrived to find Taylor and Howser standing near their car.
Taylor advised he had a gun in the vehicle. The officer found a rifle and a sawedoff shotgun in the car.
The landowner told police she noticed that someone had broken the lock off the
gate and put a padlock on the inside of the chain. She and her husband walked to
their hunting stands, where they saw someone “spotlighting” through the woods.
When the men tried to leave the property, they stopped them. She said she had run
into Howser on her property before and told him he shouldn’t be there.
Officers searched the men and found a syringe in Howser’s overall pocket. He
told them, “These aren’t my bibs.”
Both men denied owning the sawed-off shotgun. Taylor became angry and said
he wasn’t going to “take the fall for [Howser’s] bullsh*t.”
Howser said he saw some people running through the woods, so he followed
them and found the gun. The officer advised him that probably wasn’t true, since
the same ammunition that was in the gun was also in the car.
Taylor is being charged with exceeding bag limit for deer gun season and hunting
without landowner’s consent. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 26,
2018.
Howser is being charged with felony discharging firearm into dwelling, possession of sawed-off shotgun, carrying firearm while under the influence, possession
of paraphernalia, trespassing after being forbidden, public intoxication, fishing or
hunting on land of another and improper dress for deer/elk hunting. He is being held
without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 29, 2019.
