manhunt ends peacefully
According to an affidavit prepared by Payne
County Sheriff’s Investigator Brandon Meyers,
Payne County dispatchers received several 911
calls around 1:19 p.m. on April 5, of a shooting in
Ripley.
When deputies arrived on scene, they located a
black pickup that had bullet holes in the passenger
side door and windshield. The truck had crashed
into a gas meter northeast of the intersection of
Main Street and Morton Avenue.
A witness at the scene told police that a man
had run from that truck east down an alley and
hidden himself beneath a red building located just west of Biddle Street.
Deputies discovered the man hiding under the building.
Investigators learned another individual involved was Brandon Hatchett,
45, of Stillwater, who had last been seen driving north on Morton. Knowing
Hatchett was connected to a machine shop north of Ripley, Meyers went
to the shop where he was able to obtain Hatchett’s cell phone number
and called it.
During the phone conversation with Meyers, Hatchett said the victim
had threatened to kill him and his son. He said the victim had rammed his
pickup while both were driving in Ripley, so he fired at him.
In his affidavit, Meyers said Hatchett was manic and would only stay on
the phone for a short while before hanging up.
“He would only talk with me on and off,” said Meyers.
Hatchett sent Meyers images of his own pickup via text message, showing damage to the left side front fender — damage Hatchett claimed was
caused when the victim rammed him.
During one phone conversation, Hatchett told Meyers that this was not
going to end well and that he had no intention of going back to prison. Due
to the fact that Hatchett had told Meyers he was armed, and indicated
that he had no intentions of going back to prison, Meyers obtained the
authority to have Hatchett’s cell provider “ping” his cell phone. The first
ping indicated that Hatchett was located near the intersection of Hiwasee
Road and CR73, in Logan County.
The Logan County Sheriff’s office was notified, and at 3:24 p.m., Logan
County deputies located Hatchett’s truck stuck in the mud on CR73, a
quarter mile west of Hiwasee Road, with Hatchett was still in it.
As more and more law enforcement units arrived on that scene, negotiators convinced Hatchett to surrender and he was taken into custody. His
truck was seized and secured at the Payne County Sheriff’s Department
maintenance shop. Inside the truck, investigators discovered a plethora of
guns, rifles, ammunition, and a scanner.
Hatchett was charged with shooting with intent to kill, and possession
of a firearm after former felony conviction. His bond was set at $250,000.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

traffic stop leads to drug bust
Two women were taken into custody after
a Creek County deputy discovered a large
amount of meth in their vehicle during a traffic stop.
Anita Ann Fogleman, 41, of Glenpool, and
Stacie Nicole Young, 24, of Tulsa, were both
charged with unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, in
Creek County District Court.
Fogleman was additionally charged with
driving with license cancelled/suspended/
revoked.
According to the Creek County Sheriff’s Office, at around 1:00 a.m. on April 24, a Creek
County deputy saw a vehicle driving erratically with defective tag lights near 44th W Ave
and 61st St S. in Creek County. The driver,
identified as Fogleman, had warrants out of
Tulsa County, and both women had suspended driver’s licenses.
A digital scale, glass pipe, and 49 grams of
methamphetamine were found in a purse between the seats. A young child was sleeping
in the back seat.
Fogleman’s bond was set at $16,500. Her
court date was set for May 7 at 9:00 a.m.
Young, a passenger in the vehicle, was also
ordered to appear in court on May 7 and her
bond was set at $11,000.

DUI: SECOND OFFENSE IN 10
YEARS
Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty 19 | MAY 2019 LINCOLN COUNTY
Pair arrested for stolen
vehicle and stealing gas
Two 24-year-olds from Tulsa were locked up
in Lincoln County on April 7 after they allegedly
stole some gas while driving a stolen vehicle to
go smoke some weed.
According to the affidavit, a Chandler police
officer was dispatched to a gas station in the
300 block of First Street at approximately 2:32
p.m. The store clerk told him that a gray truck
had pumped $55.73 worth of gas, but the occupants left without paying. She was able to
give him the vehicle’s tag number.
While checking the tag number, the officer
learned that the truck had been reported stolen
out of Tulsa County.
A person who was in the store when the gas
was stolen called the clerk and advised her
that the suspect vehicle was still driving around
Chandler.
Shortly after 3 p.m., officers located the truck
one mile south of 15th Street on Iowa Avenue.
They stopped the vehicle and made contact
with the driver, identified as Kenneth Eugene
Overton Jr., and the passenger, Ariel Page
McLearan.
While they were being arrested, Overton
started crying and told police he didn’t know the truck was stolen. He said
he would go back and pay for the gas – he and McLearan were just going
to smoke some weed.
While searching McLearan, officers found a pipe in her pants with a
black residue that tested positive for marijuana.
Overton is being charged with possession of stolen vehicle and larceny
of gasoline – pump piracy. His bond was set at $6,000, and he was scheduled to appear in court on May 2, 2019.
McLearan is being charged with possession of stolen vehicle, larceny of
gasoline – pump piracy and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Her bond was set at $6,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on
May 6, 2019.

The OSBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person, or
persons, responsible for the murder of Brandon
Dupree.
On October 20, 2018, a shooting occurred at
the Langston University Activity Center, located
off campus. A party was taking place inside when
a fight broke out. Brandon was shot one time and
died at the hospital.
Brandon was not a Langston University student.
He was enrolled in welding school in Tulsa, where
he lived, and had no ties to the university. He traveled to Langston with friends who heard about a
party being thrown in conjunction with homecoming. Brandon was 19 years old.
If you have any information pertaining to the party on October 20, 2018,
or the shooting that killed Brandon, please contact the OSBI Tipline at
(800) 522-8017 or email [email protected].
