NO LAUGHING MATTER
Cushing man Billy Wayne James, 27, was
arrested after he allegedly punched his relative in the face on May 10.
According to reports, a Cushing officer was
dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of
E. Maple Street around 1 p.m. to investigate
an assault. One of James’ female relatives
told the officer that James went into her sister’s house and punched her husband in the
face. The man then left the residence headed
east down an alley.
When the officer went to the hospital to
speak to the victim, he noticed that the
man had blood on his face. He had an open
wound on his left eyebrow that was bleeding,
according to reports.
The victim told the officer that he was at a relative’s house getting water
earlier that day when James walked through the door and punched him in the
face. He said James left the residence laughing about the assault.
The victim advised that he had a mild concussion and a fractured nose. The
victim also told police that he feared James was going to try to kill him.
Officers placed James under arrest later that day at approximately 9:10
p.m. in the 700 block of E. Main Street. When they spoke to James about
the incident and tried to get his side of the story regarding the altercation, the
man didn’t say much.
James is being charged with aggravated assault and battery. His bond was
set at $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 7, 2021.

OFFICER NOMINATED FOR
PRETIGIOUS AWARD
(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / May 27,
2021) -- A routine call to the Stillwater Police
Department led to the lifesaving actions of Officer Tanner Galbiso on May 21.
Galbiso, who has been on the Stillwater
force since 2017, and Sergeant Jeremiah
Johnson responded to a disturbance in west
Stillwater and found a young man slumped
against a house, sitting in a pool of blood
from a large wound to his right arm. His skin
was pale and he was fading in and out of
consciousness.
Without hesitation, Officer Galbiso located
the arterial bleeding and applied a tourniquet
to the man’s arm. Life Net transported the
victim to the Stillwater Medical Center for treatment. The man had cut his arm
after punching a window during the disturbance.
“Stillwater Medical Center reported to us that Officer Galbiso saved the
young man’s life by his quick actions and accurate placement of a tourniquet,” said Stillwater Chief of Police Jeff Watts.
“All Stillwater Police officers are trained and equipped with the ability to
use the tourniquet to save a life. Officer Galbiso’s actions represent the professional police service provided by the Stillwater Police Department to our
residents,” Watts said. “We’re proud of Tanner’s work and congratulate him
on saving a young man’s life.”
Galbiso’s supervisor has nominated him for the Stillwater Police Department’s Life-Saving Award.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

A concerned citizen of Six Mile, South Carolina, contacted police after spotting Tracy Nadine Ellenburg erratically drunk-riding a stolen stallion down the
middle of Main Street (the citizen’s ability to distinguish between drunken and
sober horseback riding should have been immediately commended). Ellenburg
had parked her horse before police arrived, but the offi cer on scene was able to
locate it anyway, because it was the only horse tied to a bench outside a convenience store. The offi cer confronted Ellenburg, who stank of alcohol, swayed
and slurred her defi ant insistence that she was sober, which you may recognize
as a level of drunkenness so spectacular that people mimic it when they are
pretending to be drunk. Regardless, not only did Ellenburg deny any wrongdoing, she actually blamed the horse, which, if you remember from before, was
stolen. She declared that the horse was drunk, not her, and therefore the horse
was at fault for the erratic riding. The police, not appreciating having witnessed
one of the seven wonders of the drunken excuse world, cited Ellenburg for
disorderly conduct.
A woman in St. Paul, Minnesota, was tucking her children into bed when
she heard a noise somewhere in her house. Going downstairs to investigate,
she spotted a man and a woman running full-tilt out the back door. The woman chased after the intruders and found them loading bags of her stuff onto
their bicycles. They were thwarted hilariously when a neighbor blocked them in
with his car and called the police. The thieves, Charles and Pernella Bull, had
attempted to make off with a laptop, a desktop computer, a toolbox, the woman’s purse and a few other odds and ends. On their bicycles. We cannot stress
this enough. When questioned, Mrs. Bull said that a friend had told her that the
address was listed as a “free house” on Craigslist, which meant that the owners
were moving out in a hurry, so anyone was free to just show up and take whatever they wanted. Mrs. Bull said she had called out to ask if anyone was there
when she walked into the house (you know, the house with all the lights on and
a purse sitting on the counter), but when no one answered, she fi gured it was
vacant and starting loading up the bicycles. The police weren’t able to fi nd the
alleged “free house” listing on Craigslist, most likely because at no point in the
course of human history had it ever existed, so the Bulls were arrested.
As Lee Solarski was tooling along one day, he crashed his car into both a
mailbox and a pickup truck, as one does. Being a responsible citizen, he immediately drove away, not realizing that a witness had written down his license
plate number. When the police tracked him down, Solarski explained that he’d
crashed because his passenger had a tarantula in the car with them. The tarantula had gotten loose and was biting Solarski, causing him to lose control of
the car during the attack. To his credit, we admit a rampaging tarantula would
be enough of a reason to crash anything. The police searched the car but didn’t
fi nd the off ending spider, which we fi gure came as a relief to whichever offi -
cer drew search-the-car-for-a-secret-tarantula duty. After a similarly thorough
search of Solarski failed to produce any spider bites, he was arrested.

FORMER POLICE OFFICER PLEADS GUILTY
TO SEXUALLY ABUSING A YOUNG CHILD
A Sapulpa man scheduled to begin trial
on May 25 in federal court opted instead to
plead guilty to sexually abusing a young child,
announced Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.
Bradley Don Goodin, 46, pleaded guilty to
abusive sexual contact with a child under 12
in Indian Country. As part of the plea agreement, the defendant agreed to a sentence of
15 years in federal prison. U.S. District Judge
Gregory K. Frizzell will make the final sentencing determination at a hearing set for Aug. 11,
2021.
“Bradley Goodin was a danger to children,
but now thanks to the Sapulpa Police Department, Creek County Sheriff’s Office, the
FBI, and my office, he is a convicted child predator who will spend significant
time in federal prison,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.
In a child forensic interview, the girl described two incidents when Goodin
sexually abused her on Oct. 5, 2019. During the second incident, the victim’s
mother walked in. The girl was afraid to tell her mother what was happening
at the time because she feared he would harm them. She later disclosed the
abuse. With the aid of a neighbor, the mother fled the home with her children
and contacted the Sapulpa Police Department. At the time of the incident,
Goodin was an officer with Bristow Police Department. He has not been employed with the department since November 2019.
In a February 2021 superseding indictment, Goodin was charged with sexually abusing a total of three minors. He was also charged with being a felon in
possession of 21 firearms. Goodin chose to plead guilty rather than go to trial.
The Sapulpa Police Department, Creek County Sheriff’s Office and FBI conducted the investigation.

SPITTING IMAGE OF GOD
According to an intoxicated 29-year-old OKC man
who claimed to be Jesus, the Son of God likes to drink
a little too much.
According to the affidavit, a Meeker officer was dispatched to Highway 18 south of 1000 Road to investigate an assault at approximately 1:22 p.m. When the
officer arrived at the location, he saw a shirtless male
walking down the highway. The man was staggering
and refused to stop and speak to the officer.
Officers placed the man in investigative detention
and asked him his name. The man, later identified as
Dillion Bryce Key, said that he was a human. Key’s
eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred, and he was unsteady on his
feet. He also smelled like booze.
When the officer informed the man he was going to be arrest for public intoxication, Key began yelling Biblical references and said he died for people’s
sins and didn’t expect to be treated that way. He refused to comply with officers, since he was the “Son of God” and shouldn’t be arrested.
An officer tased the man and put him in the patrol car.
One of the reporting callers said she wanted to press charges against Key.
She was driving north on Highway 18 when she stopped for a man standing
in the middle of the road. The man tried to open her passenger door, so she
drove off. The man punched her window as she drove away. The woman
identified Key as the same man who hit her car.
On the way to jail, Key kept trying to spit on the officer and said the officer
was going to burn in hell for what he was doing to Jesus.
When they arrived at the jail, Key laid down and started kicking the car door.
Key refused to stop, and the officer tased him again.
Officer escorted the man inside the jail – he then spit on a detention officer.
As he was changing into jail clothes, Key continued to spit in random directions.
Key is being charged with two counts of prisoner placing body fluid on
a government employee, loiter in/injure/molest motor vehicle/joy ride, public
intoxication and disturbing the peace, and obstructing an officer. His bond
was set at $10,000.

GUTHRIE MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY
ABUSING TEENS
A Guthrie man is facing 10 counts of sexual
abuse of a child after two teens accused the
man of sexually molesting them on May 7.
According to reports, the alleged abuse
occurred in an airplane hangar at the Guthrie
Edmond Regional Airport. One of the victims
felt safe being alone with the suspect, identified as Michael John Malatesta, since he
knew the man through his dad.
Malatesta worked for one of the victim’s fathers – he had also bought a plane from the
man. Reports state that the victims, two teen
boys, went to the airport to assist Malatesta
with working on a mo-ped. The victims said
the man kept inappropriately grabbing them
and trying to slide his hand down one of the victim’s pants.
One of the victims became nervous due to the man’s behavior and left the
hangar. The victim who was left alone with the suspect said Malatesta asked
him to pull down his pants so the suspect could touch himself.
Malatesta then pulled down his pants and started watching porn on his
phone. He motioned for the teen to come to join him. Malatesta also told the
victim not to tell anyone what had happened.
Court records show that this isn’t the first time Malatesta acted inappropriately toward teens. He was charged with exposing himself and making lewd
or indecent proposals to a boy under 16 in 2017.
Malatesta is being charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse of a child. His
bond was set at $250,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July
22, 2021.
