Tishomingo man Christopher Michael
Pierce, 21, admitted to police that he was
the perpetrator in a string of burglaries when
they arrested him on January 30.
The victims included area churches and an
insurance agency.
According to the affidavit, Tishomingo officers took several burglary reports between
October 2016 and January 2017. On October 7, officers were dispatched to a church
on US 377 to investigate a burglary. The
suspects had taken some blank checks, an
acoustic guitar, and a laptop.
On November 5, a church at 8th and
Kemp reported that someone had broken into the building and stolen a
black backpack.
On December 9, police were advised of a break-in at another church
in the 200 block of N. Neshoba. Nothing was stolen, but an officer noted
that one of the suspects was injured during the burglary. He found some
dried blood on a broken window and throughout the church.
On December 16, officers were dispatched to an insurance agency to
investigate a break-in and the theft of some petty cash.
On January 9, 2017, officers were dispatched back to the church on
8th and Kemp. The church captured trail cam photos from that day’s
burglary, along with pictures from another break-in on January 3 that
was never reported to police. The photos clearly showed Pierce and
another man entering and leaving the building.
On January 30, the same church reported another break-in.
Later that day, officers saw Pierce walking near Sixth and Byrd Street.
He agreed to speak with them about the burglaries at the police department.
Pierce admitted to breaking into the church on Kemp Street four different times to steal money for food. He also admitted to breaking into
the other church, but he said he didn’t find any money at the place of
worship. He also admitted to breaking into the insurance business and
stealing $20.
Pierce showed officers an injury on his pinky finger that he said was
caused when he broke some glass during a break-in. He also showed
police maps of the placed he went, how he illegally entered the businesses, and he even drew out one of his break-ins.
Pierce is being charged with four counts of burglary in the second degree. His bond was set at $100,000, and he was scheduled to appear
in court on February 15, 2017.

We here at Jailbirds realize the importance of child
support to working families. We also realize it’s a real
problem in Oklahoma that custodial parents aren’t
getting the money owed to them. Too many deadbeat
parents are getting away with not supporting their children and our “powers that be” continue to turn a blind
eye to it. So, Jailbirds taking a different approach in
helping find deadbeat parents. In the past, we’ve relied
on the DHS website to get info, but it is pretty lame, as
you may have noticed. If you are owed money from a non-custodial parent, it was
court-ordered, they haven’t paid, and they have a warrant for their arrest, please
email [email protected] with the name of the parent in arrears, how much
they owe, and what county the money is owed through. We will try our hardest to
confirm the warrant and feature them on our expanded Deadbeat Parents page.
The key here is that they MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE WARRANT so we can confirm
the charge. PLEASE DO NOT PUT THE PERSON’S NAME ON THE POST! Again,

Nicole R: Moms who can’t or won’t financially support her children get reduced housing, food stamps, insurance , educational grants, TANF etc.... dads
who can’t or won’t financially support his children get jail, liens on property, tax
returns intercepted, licenses and permits suspended , and a nice picture on jailbirds. Biased much?
Jailbirds: No, we are not biased. We don’t make the rules. But we do know
the rules and laws need to be changed. It’s not working now. Wouldn’t you agree?
If you don’t like the way things are done now, pick up your phone and call your
representative. Put pressure on them. We are.
David S: You are absolutely correct. Sure glad I’m not the only one who sees
that. My ex owes over 50K to her first kids father. She receives food stamps,
insurance, etc. Yet, if I get one month behind they threaten me with suspension
on my DL. Oh did I mention we have 50/50 custody and my child is with me half
the time!!! Oh I can tell so much more about how the child support system sucks.
BTW in Oklahoma the child support is handled by a third party who claims to be
with the state. Such a crock.
Nicole R: it’s most definitely not working. 50/50 custody when possible , between 2 fit parents, could alleviate financial burdens on both sides. Jailbirds, done,
done and done! The Father’s Rights Movement page is a great support page for
fathers dealing with these issues.
Jailbirds : *smh* This is NOT about us or even you! It’s about your children!
Who ever said life was fair? Do what’s right and don’t let your kids go without basic
things, even if the other parent is not doing their part. Children need to grow up in
a relatively healthy environment. They need BOTH parents’ support, but can still
thrive with only one! I grew up with an alcoholic father who never paid my mom
one dime of child support!! Each one of us five kids grew up to go to vo-tech or
college because we had at least one parent who thought of us instead of herself.
She paid a heavy price for us, and if my dad hadn’t been a deadbeat, we would
have had a much easier time putting food on the table. Growing up on Rice-a-roni
is crap. So don’t tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about because I’m a “victim”
of our system too. Only thing is, I chose NOT TO BE A VICTIM!

different and enforced differently based on gender.

mother. I’m glad to hear you and your siblings grew up right. Gives me inspiration
while I’m raising my kids.
Jason P: I am from Arkansas and have wilfully paid my child support for 17
years without missing a single payment. 3 years ago I remarried and my wife is
from Oklahoma she brought her 2 young daughters and I was appalled that the
State of Oklahoma Child Support Services were so out of touch enforcing noncustodial to pay their support. The individual that owes his children is over $5k in
arrears and has never made an effort in the 3 years to wilfully pay. They seem to
allow the deadbeats to slip through the system unscathed. I and their mother support the children 100%. It doesn’t seem right that a deadbeat of this magnitude
should be allowed to keep getting away with it but I’m convinced that Oklahomas
Child Support Services are,lacking a backbone or they are to lazy to enforce the
court orders. This guy has been threatened to loose his license have his bank account froze and so forth but OCSE let’s him pay a one time payment of $50 and
all is good in their books and they drop the hearings on the matter. It’s sad that
an agency that is supposed to support the custodial parent and child support the
deadbeats instead. All I can say to Oklahoma OSCE is your lucky that the custodial parent and step parent pick up your slack.

Keith G: Child support is a joke in Oklahoma. The ones who need the child
support can’t get it and the people who completely ruin there ex’s life over it don’t
need as much as they claim they need because that person makes good money.
To base child support off of ones income is complete bullshit.
David S: That’s absolutely correct. Based on your income is BS. I have 50/50
custody. My child is with me at least 50 percent of the time. Yet I still have to pay
child support? That’s BS. I also provide transportation to his school which is about
30 miles away from my home. Such BS.
Keith G: The Oklahoma court system definitely favors the women, I was lucky
and my ex never even asked showed up in my case. Hasn’t been in the picture
for almost 5 years and never have I seen any child support money. Never even
showed up*

for the best attorney.
Keith G: Sounds like you got a fair deal then, just good it should be, right? Just
how*
Christina H: I don’t see Oklahoma favoring woman.....That’s just not true...I
was in a abusive relationship for years all his charges were dropped at court...I
fight back once I go to jail.. Have to pay him(my abuser) 5000 dollars and loose
my kids....I pay child support...Have no problem doing that....But he never payed
me a dime when I had the kids so where is the favoritism?
David S: I’m glad you have stepped up and are showing not all us fathers are
deadbeat. Keep up the great work. The kid(s) are what matters. Well Christina
there are some circumstances that it may go in another direction, but on a majority
the women are favored. Though I’m sure there is much more to the story, and the
violence certainly changes things.
Christina H: Yes...I also think the county has a lot to do with it....Here the men
are definitely favored...No matter what the situation is....

Seminole woman Cavlain Lewis,
46, allegedly thought she struck it
lucky when she found an abandoned
wallet containing $100 lying on a slot
machine on January 19.
Lewis wasn’t lucky, however. She
took the money and was later arrested for the theft.
A Lighthorse police officer was dispatched to the Holdenville Casino at
approximately 3:30 p.m. to investigate a report of money stolen from
a lost wallet. When the officer arrived
at the casino, security escorted him
to the surveillance room, where he watched a playback of the
incident.
According to the police report, the officer watched as the
victim walked away from a machine at approximately 2:39
p.m. leaving her wallet on a machine. About 15 minutes later,
a woman later identified as Lewis, walked up to the machine
and noticed the wallet. She sat down and moved the wallet
next to her, and briefly looked through it.
Lewis then put her own money and player card in the machine. She grabbed the wallet again and looked through it
some more. After glancing around the casino, Lewis moved
the wallet out of sight between two machines. It appeared as
though she removed a piece of paper of some sort out of the
wallet and hid it between the front of her lap and the machine.
Lewis played on the machine for a couple more minutes before removing her card and collecting her ticket.
When she went to grab the wallet, she seemed startled by a
security guard that walked past her.
Lewis eventually walked away from the machine, leaving
the wallet. No one else bothered the wallet until an employee
found it at approximately 3:14 p.m.
The victim told the officer $100 was missing from her wallet.
The officer was able to find out Lewis’s identity due to the
membership card she placed in the machine.
Lewis is being charged with petit larceny. His bond was set
at $1,000, and she was scheduled to appear in court on February 15, 2017.

A Hughes County man was arrested February
8 and charged with three counts of larceny of livestock.
Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) Special Rangers Brett Wellden and
Bart Perrier conducted the investigation.
On Feb. 3, 2017, the Special Rangers received
a report of three missing Corriente type heifers
missing from the victim’s property. Fortunately, the
heifers were branded and numbered, allowing for
easy identification. Later the same day, the victim
learned a business associate had purchased the
missing cattle from Larry Joe “Skeeter” Longan, 42, also of Dustin. Longan is a neighbor to the victim. The cattle were recovered and returned
to their rightful owner.
During the investigation, an active arrest warrant for Longan was revealed for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Once located, Longan was taken into custody on the outstanding warrant and three counts of larceny of livestock. At the time of arrest he was
found to be possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and
a firearm. Longan was transported to the Hughes County Jail where he
was booked and held in lieu of bond. Charges have been presented to
the Hughes County District Attorney’s Office.
Wellden and Perrier would like to thank the Hughes County Sheriff’s
Office for their assistance on the case. The investigation continues and
more charges and arrests are possible as additional information is revealed.
“Through the teamwork with local law enforcement, we were able to
arrest another thief,” said Wellden. “I look forward to continuing to work
with officials in the area to finalize this investigation and make sure justice
prevails.”

Skiatook man Lane Richard Davis, 22, was arrested during a January 18 traffic stop after an officer found drug paraphernalia in his possession.
According to the affidavit, the trooper stopped
a truck near the 213 mile marker eastbound on
I-40 at approximately 9:43 p.m. because the vehicle was traveling 80 mph in a posted 70 mph
zone. He approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver and passenger, later identified
as Davis. While speaking to the men, the trooper
noticed the odor of alcohol coming from inside
the vehicle.
The trooper asked the driver to exit his vehicle and have a seat in the patrol car. The driver
seemed very nervous and told the trooper he
hadn’t had anything to drink since 2 a.m. that morning.
The trooper asked the man if Davis had been drinking -- he said yes.
The trooper then went back to the truck to speak to Davis, and he noticed
a liquor bottle sitting between the seats. He asked the man what it was --
Davis replied that he didn’t know. He told the man to step out of the truck,
and he asked if he had anything illegal on his person. Davis told the trooper
he had some syringes. The trooper instructed him to empty out his pockets.
Davis pulled out the syringes, along with a marijuana pipe.
The trooper searched the truck, and he found a spoon and some cotton
balls with a white and blue residue.
The trooper performed field sobriety tests on the driver and determined
that he was under the legal limit.
Davis wasn’t -- he was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
Davis is being charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and
public intoxication. He was released on a personal recognizance bond and is
scheduled to appear in court on March 7, 2017.

How It Got Started: SAVE was started by students in Charlotte, North
Carolina in 1989 after the tragic death of a classmate who was trying to
break up a fight at an off-campus party. A group of students who did not
want this death to be “just another statistic” took action and created a
violence prevention program.
Chapters: SAVE has evolved into a national association with chapters in elementary, middle and high schools as well as at colleges and
community organizations across the country. Today, there are more than
200,000 students involved nationwide.
Activities: Student members take the lead in planning chapter activities
by using the three SAVE Essential Elements: conducting crime prevention
activities, conducting conflict management activities and providing meaningful service through projects in schools and communities. SAVE chapters also plan safety rallies and safety awareness campaigns, engage in
peer mentoring to younger students, and conduct fun and educational
meetings.

A 32-year-old Ada man was arrested and
locked up on January 16 after he allegedly
assaulted a police officer in the library at East
Central University.
The officer was just trying to arrest him for
a warrant.
According to the police report, an ECU officer made contact with the suspect, identified
as Antwan Leron Seals, shortly after 11 p.m.
in the library foyer. After speaking with the
man and checking his information, the officer
was advised that Seals had a warrant for his
arrest out of the city of Ada for contempt of
court. He told Seals he was under arrest for
the warrant, and he ordered the man to turn
around and put his hands behind his back.
Seals obeyed the command until the officer started to put him in handcuffs. He kicked backwards, striking the officer in the left leg and knee
area, causing a cut on the officer’s knee and a considerable amount of
bruising. He then jerked forward, causing the officer to lose his balance
and fall to the ground.
Seals took off running and headed west on 14th, but he didn’t get far.
Ada officers joined the search, and they found the man hiding in an alley
behind a restaurant in the 700 block of E. 17th Street.
They placed him under arrest and transported him to jail.
Seals is being charged with assault and battery on police officer, and
escape from arrest or detention. His bond was set at $2,500, and he is
scheduled to appear in court on February 15, 2017.
