Oklahoma Highway Patrol
As the weather starts to warm
up, recreational thoughts naturally
turn to the wonderful lakes
and other waterways in the state of Oklahoma. Along with the
increase of activity in and around the water, comes the potential
for drownings or near drownings, most of which can be prevented
with the use of Personal Floatation Devices. I’ve talked about them
before, but a refresher never hurts, so here goes!
First, let me just say that there are 5 types of PFDs. I’m not
going to get into their descriptions, just which types are required
for what situation. All PFDs must be U.S. Coast Guard approved,
and used in accordance with their label. The label will also state
the type. All vessels must carry one wearable (Type I, II, III,
or V) USCG approved PFD for each person on board or being
towed. In addition to that, vessels 16 feet in length or longer
must have one Type IV USCG approved PFD on board and readily
accessible. Oklahoma Law requires that all children under 13 years
of age wear an approved PFD whenever underway in a vessel less
than 26 feet in length. Each person on a personal watercraft or
sailboard must wear an approved PFD. Anyone being towed on
water skis or similar devices must wear an approved PFD. Ski belts
are not approved PFDs.
Now, besides being USCG approved, all PFDs must be: In good
serviceable condition. They must also be readily accessible. Readily
accessible means you must be able to put the PFD on in a reasonable
amount of time in an emergency. PFDs should not be stowed in
plastic bags, in locked compartments, or have other gear stowed on
top of them. They must also be of the proper size for the intended
wearer. Sizing for PFDs is based on body weight and chest size. A
good way to test this, especially for children, is to put it on, adjust
the straps, and have the wearer raise their arms up, and try to pull
it up off them. If it can come off, it is not the right size for the
wearer.
Those are the requirements, so now lets talk about the
suggestions. If you have children in or around water, make
sure they have a PFD on. Air mattresses, floaties, and other toy
floatation objects don’t count. There have been way too many
stories of toddlers near the water’s edge falling in and drowning,
and these could be prevented by following this suggestion. Also,
keep a watchful eye on those kids...even if they are only out of
your sight for a few seconds, its long enough for them to get in
trouble around the water. Last, wear one on boats even if you don’t
have to. In an emergency, you may not have enough time to put it
on. Thanks for reading, buckle up those PFDs and seat belts, and
be safe!

He might not have a ticket to ride, but
he does have a knife — and he don't care.
Pocola man Darwin Michael Flickinger, 52, was arrested after he allegedly threatened a man with a knife because the man refused to be his personal
chauffeur.
On March 26, a man flagged down a
Pocola police officer as he was driving
past a residence in the 100 block of West
Pryor Avenue. The man told the officer
that Flickinger had threatened him with
a knife.
The officer pulled into the Flickinger’s
driveway and saw him on the northwest side of the property. He told
Flickinger to come to the patrol car.
As Flickinger approached the officer, the officer could smell a strong
odor of alcohol coming from his person. He patted down Flickinger
and located a pocketknife. He placed handcuffs on Flickinger and put
him in the patrol car.
The officer spoke to the victim, who said that Flickinger had asked
him for a ride to an address on Kelly Street. The victim drove him
there and said an hour later, Flickinger approached him again and
wanted a ride there again. The victim said he told him no, but Flickinger continued to ask him for about 30 minutes.
Being continually told no apparently pissed off Flickinger, because
the victim said Flickinger entered his home and became very angry
and hostile toward him.
Flickinger allegedly pulled out his pocketknife and approached the
victim. The victim said he stopped arguing with Flickinger, and the
pocketknife-wielding man exited the home right before the victim
flagged down the officer.
Flickinger is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. His bond was set at $10,000, and he was scheduled to
appear in court on April 14, 2014.

A Custer County woman was arrested after she allegedly dragged her
husband out of his vehicle and hit him for spending too much money at the
casino.
On March 28, Weatherford police responded to a residence in the 1300
block of Meadow Lane in response to a family disturbance. En route to the
location, an officer was advised that the altercation had become physical,
according to the affidavit.
When police arrived, they spoke with the victim, who said that he and his
wife had got into an argument because he went to the casino and gambled away their money.
He said she hit him several times on the head, face and back with her fist.
The victim added that he went to his truck in an attempt to get away, but his wife pulled him
out of the vehicle, causing his head to hit the ground. The officer noticed the victim’s cheeks
were red and swollen.
Witnesses told police that they had seen the victim’s wife, Teresa Ann Middleton, 47, hit the
victim in the head and attempt to push him down the stairs. They also said that Middleton
had slapped the victim while he was lying on the ground by his truck.
Police spoke to Middleon, and she told them that she was upset at her husband for spending
their money at the casino. She denied hitting her husband or pulling him out of the truck.
Middleton is being charged with domestic abuse — assault and battery, second and
subsequent. She is being held on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April
25, 2014.

A drunk Valliant man, who was found
passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle, flipped officers the bird before being
transported to jail.
On April 5, a Pushmataha deputy who
was in the parking lot of a Hugo convenience store flagged down a Hugo police
officer.
According to the affidavit, the deputy
told the officer that there was a man
who appeared to be passed out behind
the wheel of a vehicle parked directly in
front of the store.
The officer approached the vehicle,
which was running and had its headlights on, and saw a man passed
out in the driver’s seat with his seatbelt on.
The officer tried in vain to wake up the man, later identified as
James Lee Churchwell, 25, by knocking on the window and yelling.
Since Churchwell wouldn’t wake up, the officer opened the door of
the vehicle. He immediately smelled the odor of alcohol.
The officer shined his flashlight into Churchwell’s eyes and told
him to wake up.
Churchwell eventually opened his eyes and the officer asked him if
he was okay. Churchwell didn’t respond, but instead closed his eyes
and attempted to go back to sleep.
This happened again, and the officer noticed that Churchwell’s
eyes were bloodshot.
He ordered Churchwell to exit the vehicle, but Churchwell showed
the officer what he thought of him by extending his middle finger and
flipping off the officer. Afraid that he might try to put the vehicle in
drive, the officer sprayed Churchwell with pepper spray.
Police removed Churchwell from his vehicle and placed him in
handcuffs.
Churchwell is being charged with actual physical control of vehicle
while under the influence. He was released on a $2,150 bond and is
scheduled to appear in court on April 28, 2014.

It’s probably never a good idea
to show up to perform community
service while under the influence of
drugs. Apparently, Altus man David
Westfall, 42, obviously didn’t get that
memo.
On March 31, a Coal County deputy
was dispatched to Bill Ward Road in
Coal County. According to the affidavit, the deputy was advised that Westfall, who was performing community
service work with a county commissioner, was apparently under the influence of some type of intoxicant.
When the deputy arrived, he made
contact with Westfall.
Westfall appeared to be unsteady on his feet and had very slurred
speech, so the deputy placed him under arrest and transported him
to jail.
En route to the Coal County Jail, the deputy asked Westfall if he
had anything illegal on his person. Westfall allegedly told the deputy,
“I don’t have anything on me.”
Apparently, you just can’t trust someone that shows up to community service while intoxicated — shocker.
Once at the jail, the deputy instructed Westfall to empty his pockets. He removed a pill from his pants pocket that was identified as
clonazepam, a schedule 4 narcotic.
At the request of Westfall’s probation officer, the deputy gave Westfall a urinalysis. The results of the test revealed that Westfall tested
positive for methamphetamine, opiates and marijuana.
Westfall is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous
substance, bringing contraband into a penal institution and public intoxication. His bond was set at $2,500, and he is scheduled to appear
in court on June 20, 2014.

A Wilburton man, whose truck was found in the ditch, tried to explain away the accident by telling police that he had crashed because
he was mad at his wife. And no, he doesn’t know his ABCs.
According to the affidavit, Wilburton police were dispatched to
the 300 block of West Birch on March 20 in reference to someone
wrecking a vehicle.
When an officer arrived, he saw a man he recognized as 45-yearold Christopher Lee Griffitts standing on the roadway. Griffitts told
the officer in slurred speech that he tried to turn the corner, but he
was going too fast because he was mad at his wife. While speaking,
Griffitts appeared to be very unsteady on his feet and he could barely
keep his eyes open.
Griffitts denied drinking or smoking marijuana, but he admitted that he had taken some
Lortabs about four hours prior to crashing.
An officer asked him if he knew the alphabet, and Griffitts started reciting his ABCs. After
being told that it was a yes or no question, Griffitts again started saying his ABCs. The officer
told him to start with H and end with X. Griffitts said, “H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, X.”
Unfortunately, you can’t take shortcuts when it comes to the ABCs. Police placed Griffitts
under arrest and transported him to jail.
Griffitts is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs
(second or subsequent), driving with license suspended, failure to pay all taxes due state and
failure to maintain security. His bond was set at $2,500, and he was scheduled to appear in
court on April 15, 2014.

A Moyers woman found herself locked
up behind bars after she tried to hide a
bag of weed in the back of a cop car.
According to the affidavit, an Antlers
police officer was doing surveillance
April 1, due to a recent string of burglaries that had occurred in the area when
he saw a man and two women walking
down E Street.
He made contact with the trio and
asked them if they knew anything about
the burglaries.
One of the women, Kayla Nicole
Wells, 24, told the officer that she didn’t
know anything about the burglaries and she had alibis.
Alibis weren’t the only thing she had. She also had a warrant for
her arrest in Major County.
While speaking to Wells, the officer could smell burnt marijuana
coming from her person. He placed her under arrest for the warrant,
and asked her if she was in the possession of any illegal substances.
Wells insisted that she didn’t use drugs, even though she was unable to stand still and kept moving her head, arms and feet. She began crying and told the officer that her son was sick and scheduled
for surgery, and if she went to jail, he would die.
Before he placed her in the patrol car, the officer asked Wells one
more time if she had anything illegal. He warned her that taking illegal items into a jail was a felony offense.
She reached in her pocket and handed the officer a small bag of a
green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana.
Immediately after booking Wells into jail, the officer found another bag of marijuana shoved between the cushions of the backseat
where she had been sitting in his patrol vehicle.
Wells is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous
substance. She was released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to
appear in court on May 14, 2014.

Tremane Wood
Tremane Wood was convicted of
stabbing a 19-year-old Montana man
to death in a motel room on New
Year’s Day 2002.
Prosecutors alleged that Wood
and his brother, Zjaiton Wood, 34,
robbed Ronald Wipf, 31, and another
Montana man, Arnold Jonathan
Kleinsasser, before the stabbing.
Zjaiton Wood was sentenced to life
in prison without parole and an
additional 120 years for the robbery
and killing.
Wipf and Kleinsasser were working on a harvesting crew at a
farm in Chickasha. The two men were members of the Hutterites
of the Riverview Colony, a religious sect in Montana, and had
returned to Oklahoma after spending the holidays with their
families.
Prosecutors alleged that Kleinsasser and Wipf met two women,
Lanita Sue Bateman and Brandy Lynn Warden, at a restaurant
on New Year’s Eve 2001 and that they off ered to have sex with
the pair for $210. But prosecutors alleged that the women were
setting the men up to be robbed.
Bateman, 29, was sentenced to life in prison plus 101 years
for her role in the crime. Warden, 30, pleaded guilty to a lesser
charge and testifi ed against Bateman in exchange for a 45-year
prison sentence.

A McAlester mom was arrested after she put her children
in danger by jumping from her moving vehicle where her
kids were seated in an attempt to escape police. Her plan
didn't work.
On March 27, a McAlester officer was on patrol when he
saw a vehicle parked on D Street in the area of a residence
where robbery suspects lived that he had been watching earlier that week.
According to the affidavit, as he approached the vehicle,
its brake lights came on, but the center high mounted brake
did not light up.
The officer continued to follow the vehicle and attempted
to conduct a traffic stop south of D and Choctaw.
The driver of the van that he was following had other
plans. When the officer turned on his emergency lights, the
van accelerated and led the officer on a high-speed pursuit through McAlester.
As the driver approached Delaware, the driver, later identified as Krystle Marie Ingram,
23, kept opening the door as though she was trying to get out of the vehicle while it was
moving.
As Ingram approached Elm, she jumped out of the van while it was still moving and
started running east on Kiowa Street.
The officer pursued Ingram on foot and commanded her several times to stop. The chase
continued into the canal.
Police were eventually able to apprehend Ingram, and they placed her under arrest. The
fire department had to bring a ladder to get Ingram and the officers out of the canal.
When police asked Ingram why she had run, she told them it was because she didn't
have a license.
Police who secured her van found her small children in the vehicle, along with drugs.
Ingram is being charged with manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, child
neglect, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and eluding/attempting to allude
a police officer. She is being held on a $300,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court
on April 25, 2014.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

A Durant man was taken to jail after he broke into a convenience
store- all in the name of nicotine. He was a Marlboro man, by the way.
According to the affidavit, Durant police were dispatched to a store
in the 3000 block of W. University on March 29 due to a burglary
alarm that had gone off.
When police arrived, they observed broken glass in the front door
and an unopened package of Marlboro Red cigarettes lying in the
glass. Inside the store, they found several packages of the cigarettes
on the ground behind the counter.
An officer viewed surveillance of the burglary and watched as a man
approached the front door of the store, walked away, then returned to
break the glass of the door with a blue air tank.
The man entered the store, looked around, and then took approximately 10 to 12 packages
of cigarettes.
About an hour later, an officer saw a man that looked like the suspect filling up his truck
with gas at another gas station.
He made contact with the man, identified at 28-year-old Brad Ray Northcott, and observed
a blue air tank in the back of Northcott’s truck. He also noticed that Northcott was wearing
the exact same clothing and shoes that the suspect was wearing in the surveillance footage.
The officer placed him under arrest, and Northcott advised him that he had a concealed
handgun. Police located the unloaded firearm and transported Northcott to jail.
Northcott is being charged with second-degree burglary and carrying a concealed weapon.
He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 23, 2014.

A Wylie, Texas, man tried to evade arrest in Caney April 2 by tossing a
baggie of methamphetamine out his passenger side window. Unfortunately
for the man, the officer who pulled him over saw him toss the bag of meth.
According to the affidavit, a Caney police officer pulled over 53-year-old
Danny Ray Daniels after he saw the man drift across the line while passing
a semi truck.
During the traffic stop, the officer noticed a plastic bag with a white substance in Daniels’s shirt pocket.
When the officer asked Daniels about the bag, Daniels defiantly told him
that he didn’t have anything in his pocket, and the officer wasn’t going to search him.
The officer said OK, and he began to walk around the vehicle with his flashlight. As he
neared the driver’s side of the car, he saw Daniels reach into his shirt pocket and throw a
plastic bag out of the passenger side window. The officer ordered Daniels to exit the vehicle,
and he conducted a pat down search of Daniels before detaining him.
The officer retrieved the bag that Daniels had tossed and observed that it appeared to be
meth.
During a search of the vehicle, the officer found a loaded firearm, a glass pipe with a white
residue, a baggie that contained a white substance, and a bag of marijuana in the passenger
floorboard. In the trunk, he found a marijuana pipe. The white residue tested positive for
meth.
Daniels is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful
possession of drug paraphernalia and transporting a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle. He
was released on a $6,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 30, 2014.

What you’re saying
about this on...
Josh D: Agrees to have sex with
two dudes, drinks and smokes and falls
asleep, doesn’t get to enjoy it, becomes
rape.
Stanley K: ^^^ what he said
Mike V: I agree he didn’t use good
judgement BUT I don’t feel sorry for her
ass one bit
Crystal N: Just because she says yes
at one point doesn’t mean she didn’t later
change her mind. Maybe she said nah,
I’d really rather not sorry guys. So they
break out the goods knowing that if she’s
drunk she will change her mind... But
she passed out instead. If the person isn’t
awake and willing it is still rape. That’s
what’s wrong with guys these days...
“Well she said she would but then got too
drunk and passed out... I think she would
still say yes so I’m gunna get my rocks
off while she lays here unconscious not
knowing what I did and not being able to
say no you can’t do that or yea it’s fine”
nope. Still rape jerk.
Mike V: How u know they broke out
the “goods” cause they’re black ???? Maybe she brought the goods
Regi A: She agreed to have sex with 2
men and jackson wasnt 1 of them hence
rape. Besides she was unconcience and
could not consent or decline at the actual
time and that you idiotic mcp IS RAPE!!!
Btw, if a woman has the bad judgement
to agree to have sex with Josh D and halfway through says stop and you dont, its
rape.
Jana B: Where the hell did the black
comment come in ^^^^
Crystal N: I’m not racist… And I said
“they” meanings the 3 of them... How
would u feel if this happened to your
wife,gf, sister or daughter?! Bet you’d
say the dudes raped her too because she
wasn’t awake to consent at the time of the
actions. Just because I tell my friend I’m
gunna come by doesn’t mean I did t later
change my mind. People change their
mind all the time. If this happened to
your child or gf you’d be crying rape not
saying oh sorry honey, u told him earlier
you would so he didn’t rape you.
Brenda O: Maggot!
Regi A: Btw, my ass is white as they
come, and I on occasion have been known
to 2 “break out the goods” not a racist slur
you “…”. Btw … was just opinion based on
the only info you’ve given me
Brenda O: And anyone that thinks its
ok are maggots too!
Cortnie L: Nothing but a bunch of
sick bastards
Jordan M: had NOTHING to do with
the marijuana, they prob dropped a xan
in the alcohol.…
Alva O: Feminazi’s everywhere. Not
even pertaining to the story, because
yeah, that’s rape, but this comment section is littered with stupid dumbassry.
Candis M: Well I can only hope karma comes back and hits these two losers
in the butt! (Literally)
Tony M: It’s absolutely rape, without
a doubt. With that said, don’t make stupid
decisions! This goes for men and women:
it’s up to you to decide how people treat
you, if you don’t respect yourself, no one
is going to respect you. It’s never right to
take advantage of someone, but it’s just
as wrong to put yourself into that position.
Lisa H: What an assh*le! If your not
awake to say no, its still no!!
Toni M: I know his gf omg
Tulsa Police arrested a 20-year-old man for a rape that they
say was filmed on a cell phone. Willie Donnell Jackson is being
held in lieu of a $75,000 bond on complaints of first degree
rape and rape by instrumentation.
Police say the victim went to her boyfriend’s apartment in
the 4800 block of South Darlington, agreeing to have sex with
him and another man. She drank about seven shots of alcohol
and smoked marijuana with them, an arrest and booking report
states.
“The victim stated at some point and time she passed out losing consciousness,”
the report states.
Police showed the woman cell phone video of Jackson having sex with her, and
the officer said the victim was shocked and very emotional, saying several times
that she did not give consent to having sex with Jackson.
She believed the marijuana cigarette had been laced with something because
“she did not remember a thing” that she saw on the video.
“The victim at the time of the sexual intercourse was unconscious of the nature
of the act,” the arresting officer said.
Police say Jackson would have been aware of her state because the men were
“physically moving her body into positions as well as turning her over onto her
back and stomach, and she appeared to be like a rag doll.”

A Eufaula couple was arrested for drinking and drugs on April 6
after an officer pulled them over for a faulty brake light.
According to the affidavit, the driver of the vehicle, Larry Wayne
Dill, 45, exited his vehicle as soon as the officer pulled him over. He
started to walk toward the patrol vehicle, but the officer told him to
get back in his truck.
A female passenger was identified as Marilyn Lucille Huff, 49.
Dill told the officer that he didn't have a driver's license.
The officer asked him to have a seat in his patrol vehicle while
he checked their information. While Dill was in his vehicle, the officer could smell the odor of alcohol coming from Dill's person and
breath. He asked Dill if he had been drinking, and Dill admitted in
slurred speech that he had consumed four beers.
The officer informed Huff that Dill was under arrest. As he spoke
with her, he could smell the odor of alcohol. She admitted that she
had been drinking.
The officer asked her if there was anything illegal in the truck; she
asked him if he wanted to search it. He asked her again, and she said
the same thing. The officer told her that yes, he would like to. She exited the truck and during a search, the officer found three open beer
cans, a smoking pipe, shotgun shells, .22 caliber ammunition, hand
rolled cigarettes that smelled like marijuana and a bag containing
marijuana.
Dill agreed to speak to the officer and told him that he had consumed four 16-ounce cans of beer. He also admitted to smoking marijuana earlier that day.
The officer asked her if there was anything illegal in her purse. She said no, but during
booking, a jailer found a container of marijuana and two pipes in her purse.
Dill is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol,
transporting an opened container of beer, possession of a controlled dangerous substance,
unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without an driver's license. He was
released on a $2,000 bond.
Huff is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. She was released on a $1,500 bond.
They are both scheduled to appear in court on June 27, 2014.

Watch out for Home
Repair Fraud!
In Oklahoma, the wind and
rain that come with spring can
wreak havoc on our homes and
property. By being prepared
and being aware, consumers
can avoid being victimized.
Be alert to several clues that
might indicate a less-than-reputable repairman. Be wary of
anyone who solicits door-todoor, offers discounts for finding other customers or “just
happens to have” materials left
over from a previous job. Also,
be suspicious of a repairman who accepts only cash payments, pressures you for an immediate decision or asks you to pay for the entire
job up-front.
Remember the following tips:
-Ask people you trust for referrals.
-Whenever possible, deal with local firms with roots in the community.
-Check out the repairman with the Attorney General’s Consumer
Protection Unit.
-Ask for customer references.
-Get written estimates from several firms.
-Don’t do business without a written contract.
-Get all guarantees, warranties and promises in writing.
-Agree on start and completion dates and have them written into
the contract.
The same rules apply when dealing with lawn, landscape, swimming pool or any type of speciality work.
Whether doing weather-related repairs or just general property
updates or repairs, consumers need to exercise caution before opening up their homes and their wallets. We can keep scam artists at
bay-even if we can’t say the same thing about Oklahoma weather.

I want to run so far away!

Strong-willed McCurtain man Nickolas Eugene Holt, 20,
tried to cure his pepper spray burns with marshmallow cream
after police sprayed him because he refused to get out of his
vehicle.
On April 7, a Stigler police officer pulled over Holt’s vehicle
after he saw the man pull out in front of a van on Highway 9.
Holt pulled his truck into a casino parking lot and told the
officer that he didn’t have his driver’s license on him, the affidavit states.
The officer could smell alcohol coming from the truck, but
when he asked Holt about it, Holt insisted that he had not been
drinking.
The officer told Holt to step out of the truck; Holt refused.
The officer opened Holt’s door, but Holt grabbed it and shut it.
The officer told Holt to get out of the truck so he could conduct
a sobriety test. Holt refused and started talking on his cell phone.
The officer told Holt to get off the phone. Holt refused and pointed the device at the officer.
The officer slapped it out of his hands and told Holt to get out of the vehicle or he was going
to tase him. Holt refused.
The officer told him he was under arrest and tried to open the driver’s door.
Holt started yelling for assistance from people in the parking lot, but not surprisingly, help
didn’t come.
The officer eventually pulled out his gun and told Holt to exit the vehicle, but not even the
threat of hot steel made Holt willingly exit the vehicle.
More officers arrived to assist, but Holt still refused to exit his truck. Holt told them he was
calling his lawyer and started rolling the window up. An officer managed to grab the window,
and another sprayed pepper spray into Holt’s vehicle.
Even though the spray hit him in the face, Holt simply applied marshmallow cream on his
face and still refused to exit the vehicle.
A short while later, Holt rolled down his window, and an officer was able to unlock the
door.
Police pulled Holt out of the truck and placed him under arrest.
Holt is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, obstructing an officer and resisting an officer. His bond was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled
to appear in court on May 20, 2014.

Idabel man Tralyn Laron French, 20,
was arrested after he crashed into a police vehicle on April 6 and led police on an
alcohol-fueled chase through the streets of
Idabel.
According to the police report, Idabel police were conducting a traffic stop on Lincoln Road when they saw a car traveling
toward them at a high rate of speed. The vehicle continued to fly down the road and hit
an officer's vehicle, causing major damage.
The driver, later identified as French, obviously didn't seem to care, because he sped
off east down Lincoln Road.
An officer pursued French's vehicle. French pulled over to the side
of the road, but when the officer started to exit his vehicle, he sped
off again.
The speed continued, with French reaching speeds of 70 mph, hitting dips in the road, going airborne and almost hitting another police vehicle.
He finally came to a stop at a residence in the 200 block of SW
Hayes. French exited the vehicle, and two women that the officer
recognized as French's mom and sister exited the residence. They
looked upset and approached French.
The officer drew his firearm and told the two women to step away
from French. He ordered French to the ground. French refused to
comply with the officer's commands, but he was eventually placed in
handcuffs.
He did not do well on the sobriety tests and told the officer that he
was too drunk and could not perform the rest of the tests.
French is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under
the influence of alcohol, attempting to elude a police officer, failure
to remain at scene of accident resulting in vehicle damage and driving under suspension. His bond was set at $2,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court on April 30, 2014.
