OKLAHOMA CITY – An Alabama man who was in Oklahoma City for work allegedly killed his cousin following a dispute on Feb. 28.
This marked the city’s 12th homicide of 2021.
According to reports, Oklahoma City police officers were dispatched to the Holiday Inn in Bricktown shortly after 2 a.m. to investigate a shooting.
When they arrived, they found the victim in a hallway – he was pronounced dead at the scene.
It appeared as though he had been shot to death.
The victim’s cousin, 38-year-old Tarius Eugene Reed, was arrested at the scene.
Investigators believe that Reed and the victim were involved in an altercation before it turned fatal.
At some point during the argument, Reed pulled out a gun and shot his cousin.
The men were apparently in Oklahoma City to work for a few weeks.
Reed was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of murder in the first degree.
