Couple throws loaded gun out the window during police chase

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa police assisted Broken Arrow Police Department to pursue a couple driving a stolen vehicle.

Broken Arrow PD required assistance in a vehicle pursuit on HWY 169. During the chase, the car took the East Admiral Blvd exit and headed toward N. Mingo Rd. Tulsa PD, including K9 officers, joined forces with BAPD at Admiral and Mingo.

The suspects in the stolen vehicle turned into the Carriage Village Mobile Home Park. As they were entering the premises, officers witnessed the suspects throw a backpack out the passenger window.

A Tulsa officer stopped to confiscate the backpack while the K9 unit continued pursuing the vehicle. The large bag contained a loaded .40 caliber firearm.

The couple in the stolen vehicle were identified as Meguel Crittenden and Rebecca Montgomery. Montgomery was the passenger at the time, but Tulsa police said she informed officers that she “knew the vehicle was stolen.” (Tulsa Police Department) Montgomery also shared that she picked Crittenden up in the stolen vehicle and asked him to drive it.

Officers found marijuana and methamphetamine in the vehicle. Both suspects were arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and booked into the Tulsa County Jail. Montgomery’s bond is set at $2000.00 and her hearing is scheduled for August 2, 2021. Crittenden’s bond is set at $4,250.00 but his court date has not been reported yet.
