OKC police investigating city’s 10th, 11th homicides over the weekend

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Police Department is investigating two homicides that took place over the weekend.

The homicides mark the city’s 10th and 11th of 2021.

The 10th homicide took place early Saturday morning.

According to a press release from OKCPD, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of SW 32nd Street around 5:26 a.m. on February 20 to investigate a disturbance among roommates.

When they arrived, they found a shooting victim. The 26-year-old was pronounced deceased at the scene.

While investigating the incident, officers learned that the victim and his roommate, 26-year-old Jonathan Portillo-Lopez, were involved in an altercation.

At some point, Portillo-Lopez shot and killed the victim. He was placed under arrested and transported to the Oklahoma County Detention Center, where he was booked on a complaint of murder in the first degree.

The city’s 11th homicide occurred just hours later.

At approximately 9:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of NW 80th Street to investigate reports of a shooting.

At the scene, officers found a male victim who had been shot multiple times. The victim was transported to the OU Medical Center, where he later died.

Several people were in the house when the shooting occurred, but officers are still working to find out exactly just what happened.

No arrests have been made in this case.
