PRODUCTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
LANDS YUKON MAN IN FEDERAL
PRISON FOR 25 YEARS
On December 18, Lynn Edward Stokes, 46, of Yukon,
was sentenced to serve 300 months in federal prison for
production of child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney
Robert J. Troester.
On April 16, 2024, a federal Grand Jury returned a threecount Indictment against Stokes, charging him with production, receipt, and possession of child pornography. According to public record, on March 6, 2024, agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) executed a federal search warrant for Stokes’s home and electronic devices, after they identified
Stokes as a suspected collector of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) due to his membership
in a group chat where CSAM was being exchanged. HSI agents later discovered that Stokes
sexually abused and exploited a minor to produce CSAM for him.
On August 9, 2024, Stokes pleaded guilty to Count 1 of the Indictment, and admitted he
persuaded a minor to produce CSAM and send the files to his phone.
U.S. District Judge David L. Russell sentenced Stokes to serve 300 months in federal prison, followed by supervised release for life. In announcing his sentence, Judge Russell noted
the egregious nature of Stokes’s conduct, and the need for a long sentence to remove the
threat Stokes poses to society.
“The repulsive actions of this predator to sexually exploit children cannot and will not be
tolerated,” said U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester. “The lengthy sentence imposed in this case
sends a clear message to deter others from victimizing children. I commend the efforts by both
investigators and prosecutors and their deep commitment to protecting children.”
“HSI is committed to leveraging our forensic and investigative expertise to apprehend criminals who exploit the most vulnerable members of society,” said Special Agent in Charge Travis
Pickard, who oversees HSI operations in North Texas and Oklahoma. “Due to the collaborative efforts of the special agents and law enforcement partners of the Tornado Alley Child
Exploitation Task Force, this defendant will spend the next 25 years behind bars right where
he belongs.”
This case is the result of an investigation by HSI and the Yukon Police Department. GEORGE

SOUTHERN
SHENANIGANS
TYLER, Texas (KLTV/Gray News) - Texas authorities arrested
at least two men involved in a $400,000 scheme to steal Lego
sets from Walmart and Target stores across four states and resell
them online.
Brian Keith Fleming, 33, and Ladarion Dontre Anderson, 33,
were arrested. According to an affidavit, the scheme involves 10
people and has operated for at least two years.
On Oct. 14, 2022, a trooper noticed 19 unopened Cricut machines during a traffic stop, and according to the affidavit, the
driver could not explain why they were in the car or where the
machines came from.
The driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant and the
trooper reached out to Walmart and Target to determine if the
machines were stolen.
Authorities obtained a search warrant for two cell phones that
were in the car and the text history on those devices helped them
launch an investigation that crossed state borders.
The phones revealed conversations about stealing Cricut machines to sell to a third person at a cut rate, according to the affidavit. The texts also mentioned doing the same with Lego sets.
The United States postal inspector ran an investigation on the
buyer, who was reportedly paying cash for the items and then
reselling them on Amazon, eBay and other online platforms, according to the affidavit.
On March 14, a special agent in Texas was assigned to the case and learned from an Amazon
investigator that the seller had handed over a number of invoices for Lego sets that named Fleming
directly.
The investigation revealed that Fleming and Anderson were working together with a circle of five
“shoppers” to steal the sets from stores across Texas, the affidavit says.
Fleming and Anderson were caught on Walmart surveillance video walking down the Lego aisle
before buying a handful of other items, all in the $1 to $2 range.
The document says one of the five shoppers would then go into the store and put a matching
number of Lego sets into a cart before walking past the registers and out the door.
If stopped, they would show the receipt for the items Fleming or Anderson had bought, with
the names and prices changed. Investigators identified this pattern after detaining several of the
shoppers.
The affidavit says Walmart and Target investigators estimated the combined total value of the
items stolen to be over $400,000.
Invoices from the reseller show more than 500 Lego sets were resold at or below half of the market price over just four months in 2024.
Fleming and Anderson have both been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and
theft over $300,000.
The arrest documents show over 273 individual thefts, mainly from stores across Texas, but also
in Oklahoma, Florida and Pennsylvania.

THAT'S METHED UP!
No one likes the Grinch anytime of the year, but we especially don’t during the holidays!! But in this case, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit in Florida played the role of the Grinch as they took away all of the
drugs our little drug dealing friend Keith Sarr was stashing in
his house.
On December 6, the SWAT Team broke into Sarr’s residence (lawfully, of course) as they executed
a search warrant for the Special Investigations Unit. As you might imagine, the agency had received
multiple complaints about the house and it’s occupants from local citizens.
Now, at least Sarr was smart enough not to try and run once the SWAT team hit his house, and
as you might imagine, he had drugs inside his house…in fact he had 60.86 grams of fentanyl which
is enough to kill just over 30,000 people if put into a lethal dose!!
During their search they also found 97.8g of methamphetamine which is also enough to charge
him with trafficking in meth as well!! And of course, he had two firearms inside, which makes perfect sense as he is a convicted felon
and as such can’t have a firearm!!
On a positive note, SIU Grinches took all of Sarr’s crap and gave
Sarr to jail where he can make new friends to spend the holidays
with!!
Sarr was charged with Trafficking in Meth, Trafficking in Fentanyl,
and two counts of Possession Of A Firearm By A Convicted Felon,
so he qualified for one of the returning guests suites as he is gonna
be with them a while since he has a “No Bond” status!!
Don’t be a Grinch or a drug dealer this holiday season folks, especially not in Brevard County, because they will show you how the
real Grinch will kick in your door and ruin your Christmas for sure!!

BAD BUDDY
Butler man Buddy LaRue Sr., 77, is facing two
charges after he allegedly impersonated an officer
on December 29.
According to reports, LaRue was seen driving a
white Ford Taurus with decals that said “POLICE”
on the back of the vehicle. The car also had police-style lights.
Witnesses said LaRue was in the Walmart parking lot in Weatherford, tailgating vehicles. Weatherford police stopped the man
at the intersection of Eads and 8th Street. They noticed that while the car looked
similar to a legitimate police car, it didn’t have a license plate.
During the traffic stop, LaRue told officers that he was working with the Custer
County Sheriff’s Department’s narcotics group. The investigation revealed, however, that LaRue was not involved with law enforcement.
LaRue refused to hand over his identification or to step out of his car. He also
kept his hands in his pocket. Officers eventually placed the man under arrest
after a brief struggle.
LaRue allegedly also made some threatening remarks, like he would “beat his
ass.”
LaRue is being charged with impersonating a public officer by uniform or vehicle and obstructing an officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on February
7, 2025.

14 | JANUARY 2025 BLAINE COUNTY Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty
EXECUTION DATE SET
An Arkansas man who murdered a woman begging
for her life while holding a baby in rural Blaine County
is set to be executed by lethal injection on March 20,
2025.
Evidence stated that Wendell Grissom had left Arkansas on Nov. 2, 2005 for Oklahoma City when he
picked up a hitchhiker, Jessie Johns, just inside the
Oklahoma state line.
After staying at a hotel in Oklahoma City, they drove the next day into Blaine County
looking for a house to burglarize. They chose a home at random and fought with Lauren
Dreu Kopf, who was inside her residence with her two young daughters and her best
friend, Amber Matthews.
Grissom “just laughed at her” after Kopf told him to take what he wanted and leave. He
then put a pistol to her head, but she grabbed at the gun as he fired. The bullet struck her
on the side of the head and fracturing her skull. He then shot her in the hip.
Matthews had fled to a bedroom with her Kopf’s baby. Grissom shot Matthews in the
back of the head after she begged for her life, according to evidence presented at his
2008 trial. She was holding the baby at the time. Her blood splashed on the other child, a
toddler, who was in a crib. Grissom shot Matthews a second time in the forehead.

AMERICA’S DEADLIEST SHOOTINGS
ARE ONES WE DON’T TALK ABOUT
On any given day in America, an average of 63 of our mothers,
brothers, partners, and friends are taken from us by gun suicide.
But tomorrow’s deaths could be prevented. Give your loved ones
a second chance at life. Store your guns safely: locked, unloaded,
and away from ammo.
