CANDID CAMERA
A 21-year-old Reydon man was taken into custody after the Elk City Police Department put out
a call for help on social media.
Mark James Porter was charged February 14
with two counts of burglary second degree and
one count of burglary third degree, in Beckham
County District Court.
According to a social media post by the ECPD,
the department asked the public for their assistance in identifying a man caught
on video burglarizing a car early in the morning on February 10 in the area of S.
Oliver and 10th Streets.
The video captured a man opening the trunk
of a car and looking inside. When he pulled
his head of of the trunk, he realized he was on
camera and ducked his head behind the door
of the trunk. He then tried to conceal his identity with his hoodie, but it was too late- he’d
already been recorded.
Social media comments identified him as
Porter.
Porter was also the suspect in the case of
several other burglaries of buildings.
Bond was set at $7000 and he is scheduled
to appear in court next on March 18 for his attorney date. JOEY

THE LURE OF MONEY
A Weatherford man is facing multiple felony
charges after he allegedly lured minors into exchanging money for a nude photo of themselves.
OSBI stated that on January 18, the Weatherford Police Department and District II District
Attorney’s Office requested the Oklahoma State
Bureau of Investigation to assist with a child exploitation case. Minors were allegedly solicited for
sexual images in return for payment of monies.
Based on the information obtained by OSBI special agents, 39-year-old Todd
Alan Earp was charged on February 26 with the following alleged felony offenses: three counts of Engaging in Communication with a Minor for Sexual or
Prurient Interest by Use of Technology, two counts of Executing a Scheme with
Intent to Obtain Money or Services by Means of False Representation, and three
counts of Soliciting and Engaging in Prostitution Within 1,000 Feet of a School.
Earp appeared in the District Court of Custer County on the afternoon of February 26. He was then booked into the Custer County Jail.

Man arrested for making multiple threats
On February 3, a church member from a
church near 5th and S. Memorial called police
about threats of mass murder made on his congregation.
The church member said he came into contact with Ruben Marquez at a
gas station near 11th and 169th. The church member said Marquez told him
that he was going to use his guns to kill everyone at the church, including
women and children.
The investigation revealed that in January, the church member made a police report after Marquez made similar threats and blamed the church for
breaking up his marriage.
Ruben Marquez was taken into custody at his home, not far from the
church. He was arrested for Threatening an Violent Act.
8 kids a day are accidentally killed
or injured by FAMILY FIRE.
FAMILY FIRE is a shooting involving an improperly
stored gun, often found in the home.

News Flash! Trucks don’t surf!
A New York man was arrested and charged in
Florida after authorities caught him driving his pickup truck into the ocean at New Smyrna Beach, just
south of Daytona Beach, early on Tuesday.
A video shared by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office
shows a person driving a white pickup truck into the
water — sometimes driving alongside the waves and other times against it — and
even attempting to perform a donut.
The driver — later identified as 49-year-old Jason Brzuszkiewicz, of Bridgeport,
N.Y. — is then seen off the water chatting with deputies, who informed him the
beach was closed due to high tides.
Bodycam video also shows Brzuszkiewicz attempting to hide from a camera by
covering part of his face with a black baseball cap. He then tells an officer that he’s
not really the one to blame. “It’s not my fault truck don’t surf!” he says.
“Yeah, but you shouldn’t be driving on the beach when the gates are all closed,”
one deputy responds.
“I thought I was in England,” Brzuszkiewicz says.
When the deputy confirms they are not in England, Brzuszkiewicz’s response gets
even more colorful.
“We are not in Kansas, anymore?” he asks, using the famous Judy Garland line
from 1939’s MGM classic “The Wizard of Oz” — before laughing at his own joke.
According to the sheriff’s office, Brzuszkiewicz “drove around a closed gate
marked DO NOT ENTER and
accessed the beach in New
Smyrna Beach.”
He was ultimately charged
with a violation of the Volusia
County Ordinance — failure to
pay vehicular access fee — and
then taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail on a $200 bond.
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless
