Federal agents, along with law enforcement
agencies in Oklahoma and Missouri, busted a major meth shipment headed to Monett, Mo.
Deputies in Canadian County were suspicious
of a vehicle loaded on a parked car hauler at the
TA Truck Stop at Morgan Road near Interstate 40.
After investigating the vehicle, they discovered the
vehicle was registered in Colorado but was picked
up in Los Angeles. Its destination was Monett.
Deputies found a false compartment in the rear
passenger area during a search of the SUV and discovered 15 bundles of what appeared to be meth. The bundles reportedly weighed about 43 pounds and had an
estimated street value of $2.3 million.
U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents worked together with law enforcement officials from both Canadian County and Barry County, Mo., to coordinate a
controlled delivery of the narcotics to Monett. The SUV was released to a Hispanic male who paid for the shipping fees. Authorities followed the vehicle to a home
where the man met with five other Hispanic males.
The task force found more meth, firearms, documents related to trafficking narcotics and a substantial amount of money, according to reports.
The driver of the car hauler was arrested, along with five men at the residence.
Jaime Gonzalez-Alvarado, 32, and Camilo Acosta Jr., 20, were charged in federal
court for their alleged roles in the operation in Monett.

Like true historic
adventure accounts?
The Bible has them.
Korah learned that
God’s power is greater
than his.
Korah complained
against Moses, but
God chose Moses to
lead Israel. Moses
tells him, “Therefore
you and all your
company are gathered
together against the
Lord” (read Numbers
16:16 in your Bible).
God takes it personally when we don’t honor His servants.
Moses was chosen to lead Israel, but the people grumbled.
They didn’t get what they wanted. We are no different than
Korah and his friends.
We don’t take responsibility to change ourselves, we keep
doing the same things, and when we’re caught or suffer, we
complain and blame others.
What happened to Korah? Read it for yourself in your
own Bible, Numbers 16:28-38. Imagine the horror of this
tragic event! Can history repeat itself? Yes!

A woman in Florida got so excited after stealing
a family’s Apple technology that she decided to take
some selfi es of her own. She had stolen an iPad
and an iPod Touch out of their car while they were
visiting one of Florida’s regional parks. Apparently
not realizing that photos taken on an Apple device
will show up on the computer, her selfi es surfaced
on the family’s iCloud account two weeks later. All of
these pictures are able to be located geographically.
A middle-aged man was stopped by police as he
rode his horse down the streets of Colorado. Why?
He was seen hitting the horse, but told the police
there was a fl y on his head. Further investigation
revealed that he had a small gun, a pug (yes, you
understood correctly), and beer cans in tow. Not
surprisingly, he failed an intoxication test and was
charged with animal cruelty, possession of weapons,
and drunk riding.
Have you ever accidentally gotten high? Like,
you thought it was a normal brownie, or normal
mushrooms. But nope, turns out you’re absolutely
tripping. Good luck explaining that one to the
police. The only thing less convincing than that is…
”accidentally” growing marijuana on your property.
This is exactly what happened to a 73 year old man,
who claims he found the seeds in a random box and
decided to plant them. Lo and behold, up grows
some weed. The man showed no sign of being a
pot smoker, yet paid the $200 dollar ticket without
argument anyway. Hopefully he’ll stay away from
mystery seeds from now on.
How impatient do you get when waiting for your
food to microwave? Worse yet is when you fi nally
think it’s done, but the plate is a burning fi re disc
from the sun’s core and your food could have been
found in the fur of a frozen wooly mammoth from
the arctic. How mad would you get? Hopefully not
angry enough to use the microwave as a weapon, like
a guy in St. Louis. A 43 year old man and a 36 year
old man got into a heated argument over “personal
matters”, resulting in a knife being pulled and a
microwave oven being thrown. Both were admitted
to the hospital with serious forehead wounds. I
don’t remember these being part of the Easy Mac
directions???
We’ve all seen those movies about crazy people
who believe demons live in their house, right?
Terrifying stuff , but the demons are probably more
scared of you than you are of them. Just…grab a
big shoe. And kill all the fl ies so they have nothing
to eat. Oh. Maybe I’m thinking of something else,
something scarier. One guy in Arizona was so
freaked out he almost burnt down the house. With
his roommates still home, he started a fi re in his
bedroom closet where he believed they were hiding.
He used paint thinner, and is reported to have been
reciting Bible verses. He said he had planned to tell
the police but forgot, and he was admitted to the
hospital with burns on his feet. The important thing
is, the house is now 100% demon free.

A call about a domestic disturbance led
to the arrest of a Clinton woman.
On Oct. 23, a Clinton police officer was
dispatched to a residence in reference of a
possible domestic abuse in progress.
When he arrived, he spotted a male that
matched the description given by the reporting party walking down the street.
According to the affidavit, the male was
clearly agitated and appeared to be crying.
He told the officer that he had been arguing with his wife, Audra Anna Sophia Lamb, 28, and that she was
leaving him. He told the officer he did not hit his wife.
Lamb was standing nearby and the officer went to speak to her
separately. She also stated that her husband did not hit her.
She was carrying a large backpack that appeared to be full of
items. The officer knew from past experience that Lamb and her
husband are known to steal items, the affidavit states, and he
asked her if he could look through her bag.
Lamb gave the officer permission to search the backpack. As
he started to go through the items in the bag, Lamb’s husband
kept making comments to Lamb that one of her friends had put a
makeup bag in the backpack.
Lamb told the officer that her friend had put a makeup bag in
her backpack and the makeup wasn’t hers.
Unfortunately for Lamb, the makeup bag wasn’t full of makeup.
The officer opened the bag and found a clear glass pipe, a clear
glass tube, two used syringes and a blue glass pipe that contained
a white residue. The residue later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Lamb is being charged with possession of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a park and unlawful possession of drug
paraphernalia. She is being held on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 13, 2013.

By Lt. Jeff James
Oklahoma Highway Patrol
This month’s Tips is less of a tip
than it is a serious request for help
from you, the motoring public. I would like to make a personal
appeal to each and every reader who sees this to help us Troopers
try to eliminate one of the toughest jobs that we ever have to do. It
is something that everyone who drives can have an impact on.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is tasked with the investigation
of motor vehicle accidents on the public roadways outside the city
limits in the State of Oklahoma. In the course of this, we investigate
a huge number of fatalities. For each fatality victim, it is the duty
of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to personally notify the next of
kin. For each life lost, there is a knock on a door somewhere, where
an OHP Trooper has to deliver news that will forever change the
lives of the person or persons on the other side. Sadly, these knocks
on the door could have been prevented by somebody involved in
the accident. Sometimes it’s the person who died whose unsafe or
unlawful action caused the accident that took their life. Often times
it is not.
Each and every Trooper you see working the roads every day has
had to knock on that door. I think if you asked, every single one
would tell you this is the worst aspect of our job. Trying to prevent
this is one of the reasons we do what we do. We know if we work
hard, we can stop some of these knocks. We also know the motoring
public can help us stop some of these knocks as well. The following
are just a few ways for you to do your part to help.
First and foremost, obey the law. It really doesn’t matter if
your personal opinion of the rules of the road don’t make sense,
or shouldn’t apply in certain situations. Each one of them is
designed for us to travel safely on the road. Slow down, and give
your full, undivided attention to the road. Watch out for the other
driver. When you see something happening ahead of you, slow
down! “I was late”, or “I was texting” just doesn’t cut it as responses
to a grieving family when they ask why this happened. Is it
something you could live with if it was your reason for taking a life?
The people on the other side of that knock aren’t the only ones
affected by the experience. We Troopers have all held strangers as
the initial horror and shock of the news takes hold of them. We
have all prayed with families we just met, and asked if we could have
done more to prevent it. Each and every day we are trying to stop
The Knock. Now I’m asking you to help us. Thanks for reading,
buckle up, and be safe!
Tips from a Trooper

Oklahoma couple Elizabeth Pester, 33, and Mark Knapp,
48, have been jailed after they nearly starved their 3-year-old
daughter to death while they allegedly immersed themselves in
an online video game.
Second Life, an online 3d world where players can create an
entirely new virtual identity and then interact with other players
using that identity, became more than a game to Elizabeth
Pester and Mark Knapp.
It almost became a death sentence for the couple’s 3-year-old
daughter, who withered away while her parents spent the bulk
of their time on a computer, pretending to be a married couple in their new virtual world.
According to police, the problem began almost immediately after the child’s birth.
Investigators say DHS agents took the couple’s newborn into protective custody just a couple of
weeks after her birth. Case workers noted that Pester and Knapp had refused to spend much time with
the newborn, and the child was having feeding issues as a result.
In 2011, the child was returned to her parents in healthy condition, however it didn’t take long before
the feeding issue returned, and in a far more severe way.
In June, 2012, the little girl was taken to a local hospital where she weighed just 13 pounds and
appeared seriously malnourished. DHS responded by referring the child’s parents to a therapist who
would weigh the child on a weekly basis. That therapist saw the child just four times and weighed the
child twice over a five month period, according to court documents.
Pester and Knapp have been booked into the Tulsa County jail and charged with child abuse and
neglect. Bond has been set at $50,000 each.

More than 100,000 children and youth in the
U.S. foster care system are awaiting permanent
families. National Adoption Month is a time to
raise awareness about the adoption of children
and youth from foster care.
The Children’s Bureau in partnership with
AdoptUSKids and Child Welfare Information
Gateway sponsors the initiative each November
as a way to focus public attention on the urgent
need for adoptive families for children and
youth waiting in foster care for a permanent
family. This year’s focus, “Partnering for Permanency,” builds on the social media theme
from last year. A special web page on Information Gateway’s website helps child welfare
professionals, prospective adoptive parents, and youth partner for permanency. The website
contains resources, stories, and videos on topics such as getting started with social media,
how to build a recruitment campaign, and how social media impacts child welfare and
adoption. The website can be found at http://www.childwelfare.gov/adoption/nam.

Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

A night he soon won’t forget
Rogelio Andaverde, a 34-year-old Texas man, was jailed Oct 10
after he allegedly faked his own kidnapping in an effort to dump
his wife for a night of partying.
According to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, Andaverde
and his wife were home at around 10:30 p.m. that night when two
masked men broke into their home and kidnapped Andaverde at
gunpoint.
Investigators say the Sheriff’s Office launched a manhunt, but
called it off a few hours later when no leads developed on the case.
Andaverde arrived back home that morning, explaining to his
wife that his captors “just let him go.”
When officers arrived on the scene to interview Andaverde,
something about his explanation didn’t sound right to them.
Andaverde was taken into custody and interviewed again at the Sheriff’s Office.
He reportedly admitted to investigators that he fabricated the kidnapping because he
wanted to go out drinking with his friends.
“I don’t think his wife appreciated being kept until 4 or 5 in the morning, being interviewed
by the cops while her husband was out doing who knows what with who knows who,” said
Hidalgo County Sheriff, Guadalupe Trevino. “He’s going to have a lot of answering to do.”
Andaverde was booked into jail and charged with making a false report to police. He was
released after posting $5,000 bail.

If you have lots of loose change in your car,
32-year-old Ronald Emory Speer will gladly
take it, with or without your permission.
The Sayre man was arrested after a drunken night of breaking into vehicles in Elk City
and stealing loose change.
On Oct. 26, an Elk City police officer was
dispatched to an area in Elk City in reference
to a man breaking into vehicles, the affidavit
states.
When police arrived, they made contact
with a man who matched the description of the subject. The man,
later identified as Speer, appeared to be very intoxicated. He smelled
like alcohol, had thick slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet.
Speer was unable to tell police where he was. Police placed Speer
under arrest and transported him to jail.
Police spoke to the reporting party, who told them that she had
seen Speer looking into several vehicles. She said Speer had opened
the doors of two cars and entered them. She showed the officers
which vehicles Speer had entered.
The center consoles and glove boxes of both vehicles were open
and there was makeup spilled in one vehicle. Speer happened to have
makeup spilled on the front of his sweatshirt.
Police spoke to the owner of the vehicles, who told them that the
vehicles were not left in that condition but had been unlocked. After
checking the cars, the owner told police that the only thing that appeared to be missing was loose change.
During the booking process, the officer found the following items
on Speer’s person: two quarters, four nickels, three dimes, 24 pennies, a silver dollar, one pocket knife, a camel silver coin, a gold key
and two lighters.
Speer is being charged with burglary in the second degree and
public intoxication. His bond was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled
to appear in court on Dec. 5, 2013.
Change, anyone?

Two Watonga men were arrested after they broke into a Watonga church
and decided to have themselves a little party in the house of God.
No doubt the man upstairs was none too pleased about the break-in, because police were promptly called and the party ended with the men locked
up behind bars.
According to the affidavit, Watonga police were contacted on Oct. 25,
about two men breaking and entering the Indian Baptist Church. A witness, who knew the two men by name, had seen the men unlawfully enter
the church. One of the men kicked in a window, and the two men climbed
through the broken window into the church.
Apparently, police walked into the church and found one of the men lying
on the ground. The other tried to escape the church by running out of a side
door.
There was ice cream and cake on the counter, which appeared to have
been eaten by the intoxicated burglars.
Police noticed the odor of alcohol on the breath of the men,
The assailants, John Manuel Brooks, 42, and Horace Joseph Bigmedicine, Sr., 57, were arrested and taken to jail.
Both men are being charged with injuring a church or its contents. Brooks
is being held on a $35,000 bond on condition that an alcohol monitor is in place before bonding.
Bigmedicine is being held on a $10,000 bond on condition that an alcohol monitor is in place
before bonding.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 12, 2013.

Oklahoma County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a substitute
teacher after students reported she was intoxicated and passed
out in a classroom office at Millwood High School.
April Chamberlain, 30, was supposed to be acting as a
substitute in a biology class. Students said she appeared
disoriented and used profanity. When students found
Chamberlain asleep in the office, they contacted a coach, who
informed the principal.
The principal said after she repeatedly shouted and tapped
Chamberlain on the shoulder, the substitute woke up. The principal said
Chamberlain had blood-shot eyes and smelled strongly of alcohol.
When a deputy arrived, she saw an open bottle of Canadian Whisky in
Chamberlain’s purse. The deputy also noted Chamberlain kept slurring and was
unsteady on her feet.
Chamberlain was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County jail for public
drunkenness.

A Carnegie couple that was entrusted with the care of misplaced
foster children was arrested for
child abuse after they failed to provide a safe home for the children in
their care.
On Oct. 21, a Washita County
deputy responded to a call from the
hospital in reference to child abuse
that had taken place in Washita
County.
When they arrived at the hospital, they made contact with a
young teen that had run away from his foster home the night before
due to the physical and mental abuse he had been experiencing at
the hands of his foster parents, Tammara Maries Reeves, 51, and
Marty J. Lynn Reeves, 53, the affidavit states.
On the morning of Oct. 21, a passerby had found the juvenile
along the highway wearing only his underwear and socks.
The teen told police that his foster parents had repeatedly made
him stand outside in the cold overnight as punishment without
clothes or shoes. He also recounted other troubling events of abuse
to the police, including being forced to wear a car tire around his
neck while running laps around the backyard and while eating.
The victim had physical wounds consistent with physical abuse.

The couple was arrested and the three children in their care were
removed from their home.
