WILSON PLEADS
GUILTY TO MURDER
A Park Hill man has pleaded guilty in federal
court for killing another person last year.
Xavier Sean Wilson, 22, entered a guilty plea
last month to one count of Murder in the Second
Degree in Indian Country, punishable by a term
of imprisonment of up to Life.
The Information alleged that Xavier Sean Wilson, with malice aforethought,
unlawfully killed the victim. At the plea hearing, Wilson admitted that on April
30, 2022, he caused the death of the victim by stabbing the victim with a knife.
The crime occurred in Cherokee County, within the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Cherokee Nation Marshal
Service.
The Honorable Jason Robertson, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea, and ordered
the completion of a presentence investigation report. Wilson remains in the
custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing. GARY

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

AROUND THE STATE
On November 5, around 4:15 p.m., a GMC
pickup was driving erratically on I-244 EB and
nearly hit an officer who was en route to another
call. The Officer had to maneuver out of the way
to avoid being struck by the truck.
The officer stopped the driver, later identified as
Juan Diaz-Rodriguez. Diaz-Rodriguez gave the
officer multiple names and birthdates, and he did
not have a license or any identification.
While the officer and a backing officer were taking Diaz-Rodriguez into custody, he began pulling away and attempting to escape. Diaz-Rodriguez kicked the officers and bit one of them.
Diaz-Rodriguez managed to break away and ran into oncoming traffic across
the interstate, which was filled with traffic at the time.
Officers immediately set up a perimeter in the area. Minutes later, officers received a call about Diaz-Rodriguez attempting to break into a house. Officers in
the area quickly responded and took Diaz-Rodriguez into custody.
Juan Diaz-Rodriguez was arrested for Assault & Battery on a Police Officer (2
counts), Obstructing Justice, Resisting Arrest, No License, and DUI/Drugs.
The Officers involved were not severely injured in the arrest. This is an arrest,
not a conviction.

A FAMILY TRAGEDY
A Wagoner County man put up quite a fight
when deputies attempted to take him into custody for allegedly stabbing two family
members, killing one of them.
A press release by the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office stated that on October 24, at approximately 8:00 p.m., deputies
were dispatched to the 19400 Block of South 345th East Avenue in the
Redbird area in reference to a stabbing.
Dispatched advised the suspect, later identified as Nicholas Scarborough,
had stabbed his father and his grandmother. It was advised that the suspect
had left the residence wearing a black shirt and black and white pants.
Wagoner County Deputies Michael King and Michael Gray arrived in the
area and observed him fleeing the area. Deputy King and Deputy Gray gave
the suspect commands to get on the ground, but the suspect turned and
charged towards the deputies. The suspect fought both deputies until a taser was utilized to bring the suspect into custody without injury to the suspect
or deputies.
The grandmother sadly passed away at the scene.
The father was transported by helicopter to a local Tulsa area hospital in
critical condition.
Wagoner County Investigators charged Nicholas L. Scarborough with the
following: Murder 1st Degree, Aggravated Domestic Assault and Battery,
Assault and Battery on police officer, Resisting arrest.
Nicholas Scarborough was confirmed to be a member of a federally recognized tribe. The Federal Bureau of Investigations will be taking the lead on
the investigation. The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to assist
the Federal Bureau of Investigation with the investigation of this homicide.

FIREARM CHARGE
Bobby Laymone Sanders, 63, of Sallisaw,
entered a guilty plea to Felon in Possession of
Firearm and Ammunition.
The Indictment alleged that on April 13, 2023,
Sanders was in possession of an Iberia Firearms
Inc. (Hi-Point), Model JCP, .40 S&W caliber, semi-automatic pistol and two
rounds of ammunition, which had been shipped and transported in interstate

ammunition as a convicted felon. At the time of the offense, Sanders had
been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding
one year and knew of such conviction.
Sanders was charged and convicted of multiple felonies over the last three
decades in Adair County.
The charge arose from an investigation by the Cherokee Nation Marshal
Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Sanders will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing.

STILWELL RESIDENT
SENTENCED FOR FEDERAL
FIREARMS CRIME
Brandon Lee Workman, 37, of Stilwell, was
sentenced to 72 months in prison for one count
of possessing a firearm after a felony conviction and 72 months in prison for one count of
possessing ammunition after a felony conviction. These sentences will run concurrently.
The charges arose from investigations by the Adair County Sheriff’s Office
and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
On August 10, 2022, Workman pleaded guilty to the offenses. According
to investigators, law enforcement officers responding to an emergency call
on May 9, 2022, discovered Workman in possession of a revolver and .38
Special ammunition despite a prior conviction for a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.
Workman will remain in custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation
to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.

NO JOKE
A Muskogee man will be spending the rest of
his life in federal prison for killing a man over a
joke about casino winnings.
Kevin Marvell Jackson, 22, was sentenced
earlier this month to two life terms in prison for
one count of Robbery in Indian Country and one count of Murder in Perpetration of Robbery in Indian Country relating to a 2020 murder in Muskogee.
Jackson was also sentenced to 180 months imprisonment on one count
of Robbery in Indian Country and 180 months imprisonment on one count
of Using, Carrying, Brandishing and Discharging a Firearm in Relation to a
Crime of Violence. The terms of imprisonment will be served concurrently.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Muskogee Police Department.
On March 3, 2022, a federal jury found Jackson guilty at trial on all counts
of a four-count Superseding Indictment. During the trial, the United States
presented evidence that in the early morning hours of October 19, 2020,
Jackson attempted to rob two persons, believing they had a large amount
of casino winnings. After forcing the victims into a nearby residence at gunpoint, Jackson discovered they had no cash or winnings, and instead attempted to force them to an ATM to withdraw funds. In the process, one
victim escaped, and Jackson shot the remaining victim before fleeing the
scene of the crime.
EMS responders transported the gunshot victim to St. Francis Hospital in
Muskogee, where he was pronounced dead.
Jackson was later apprehended in the Oklahoma City area by an FBI-led
manhunt.
The crimes occurred in Muskogee County, within the boundaries of the
Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
“The FBI focuses its investigative resources on offenders who pose the
greatest safety risk to the public,” said FBI Oklahoma City Special Agent
in Charge Edward J. Gray. “Mr. Jackson proved he has no regard for the
law or for human life when he brutally murdered one innocent victim and
traumatized another. I’m proud of the collective efforts of the FBI and our
law enforcement partners to ensure this extremely dangerous individual will
spend the rest of his life behind bars.”
“Mr. Jackson’s cold-blooded crimes are deserving of the life sentence
handed down by the Court,” said United States Attorney Christopher J. Wilson. “There can be no room in society for such callous acts, and this office
will prosecute anyone who commits such crimes to the fullest extent of the
law.”
Jackson will remain in custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation
to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.

AROUND THE NATION
Needin’ some down-home cookin!
For most people, prison would be something
you’d escape from and never look back if you
ever found yourself in that predicament; but for
these Texas prisoners, they just needed their creature comforts before coming
right back. According to Dallas News, an inmate who was locked up in a federal
facility in Beaumont snuck out only to get booze, tobacco, snacks, and food to
bring back with him since, you know, the food in prison is probably really bad.
And it isn’t just this one incident, either. Inmates have apparently been using
a back door to skip out to land nearby, picking up contraband left behind for
them, and coming right back. Sheriff’s Deputy Marcus McLellan recently told the
Beaumont Enterprise that inmates have been essentially making up their own
in-and-out privileges at the facility “since day 1.”
Sherrif’s deputies in Jefferson County finally realized what was happening and
laid in wait to watch it all go down. Around 5:45 PM, a duffel bag was dropped
off on the adjacent property, and around 7:30 p.m., 27-year-old Joshua Randall
Hansen was observed leaving the prison to retrieve the bag. On Hansen’s way
back into the facility after picking it up, he was arrested.
Once confiscated, the authorities said the duffel bag was full of alcohol (whiskey and brandy, specifically),
packages of tobacco, snacks,
fruits, and plenty of home cooked
food.
Hansen was already in the process of serving a little over two
years for conspiring to distribute designer drugs, but now will
likely do additional time as he faces escape and marijuana possession charges.
