A Purcell man was arrested after he allegedly grabbed a woman’s
butt in Walmart. Apparently, he showed no remorse and instead
laughed with the woman tried to confront him.
On December 10, a Purcell officer was dispatched to the 2000
block of S. Green Avenue in reference to a sexual assault at Walmart,
the affidavit states. When he arrived, he saw the suspect, Gilberto
Perez, 28, sitting on a bench. The officer asked him what had happened, but Perez didn’t speak English. The officer tried asking the
man if he touched a girl in the store. Perez wouldn’t answer.
The officer met with the victim, who told him she was walking
down the bread aisle when Perez walked up to her. She said he put
his arm around her waist, then put his hand a little lower, grabbing
things he shouldn’t be grabbing.
The victim said she turned around in shock and said, “Excuse me!” But, she said Perez said
something in Spanish and laughed and walked away.
The officer placed Perez in investigative detention and review the store’s video surveillance
tape.
The tape showed Perez walk up behind the victim. The victim turned around quickly and
looked upset. She then walked away from him.
Perez was placed under arrest and taken to jail.
He is being charged with sexual battery and obstructing an officer. He was released on a
$2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 14, 2015.

The Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI investigate
an officer-involved shooting near Grant on Dec. 4. The incident
began with a foot pursuit of a subject by numerous law enforcement
agencies.
That pursuit ended in the parking lot of the Choctaw Nation
Casino and Resort located at 1516 U.S. Highway 271 when the
man exited a pickup truck he had stolen and then raised a rifle at
officers. William Lee Honea, 33, of Texas, was shot multiple times.
Two Hugo officers and two Choctaw County sheriff’s deputies fired
their weapons. Honea was transported to a local hospital where he
was pronounced dead.
OSBI agents spent much of the day Thursday at the scene
gathering information and evidence. Today, agents will continue
conducting interviews. Once the investigation is complete, agents will provide the district attorney with
the facts of the case. The district attorney will determine if the shooting was justified.

Love County deputies are searching
for a man who allegedly tried to run
over another man with his vehicle.
A warrant was issued Dec. 19 for
Chad Eugene Joyner, 34, of Thackerville.
According to court records, a Love
County deputy was dispatched to
Thackerville on a complaint that Joyner
was trying to run over a man. When the
deputy arrived, he spoke to the victim
who said Joyner tried to run over him
in his car, but he instead hit both sides
of his pickup.
The victim added he did not get hit
and was not hurt in any way.
The deputy searched several places where Joyner could be, including where he last lived, but the people there told the deputy they had
kicked him out of the house several days before.
Joyner’s bond was set at $10,000.

Substance Abuse Groups
An Ardmore man was taken into
custody Dec. 27 after he ran over another man with his car.
Michael Edward Brown, 42, was
charged Dec. 1 with assault and battery
with a dangerous weapon and resisting an officer in Carter County District
Court.
According to court records, Brown
assaulted the victim “with his car, driving through his yard, and charging him
with his car, with intent to do [the victim] bodily harm…”
Reports state the two had gotten into an argument in the 900
block of Heath Street around 1:30 pm on Dec. 27.
Brown was released on a $25,000 and he was ordered back to
court for his preliminary conference on Jan. 13 at 9 a.m. He was also
ordered not to contact the victim.

Today, I’m going to re-visit who
has the biggest impact on our new
drivers that hit the road each and every day.
First, the Oklahoma Driver’s Education classes and schools across
the state are second to none, and do a fantastic job of educating our
young drivers on the law, and proper way to safely operate a motor
vehicle. I would like to point to some other folks, who I believe
have a far greater impact on how our youngsters approach driving,
and address them, and that is the adults who these young drivers
look up to: the parents, older siblings, and extended family.
If you fit in this category, please pay attention. I believe that our
kids learn their driving behavior not from the Oklahoma Highway
Patrol, other law enforcement, or driver’s education instructor, but
from you, the parents and family. I know I learned that way! Let
me give you some examples.
You are a dad, and for whatever reason, when you are driving
in town, or on a county road, you just don’t buckle up. Maybe its
because you don’t drive fast in these areas, or have a farm tag and
just don’t have to; however, you do buckle up when you get on
highways or go on long drives. The message you are sending is that
when you are in the vehicle there are certain times that it is OK not
to wear your seatbelt. If dad doesn’t have to do it, I don’t either! In
fact, at least 50% of all accidents happen on county roads, and
you are more likely to be in an accident within 10 miles of your
residence than otherwise. So the real message you are sending is,
don’t buckle up during the times that you are most likely to need it!
Next, mom gets off work at 5:00, and one of the kids has a ball
game in another town at 5:30. She can get there if she speeds. After
all, it is important to get to those activities, and it won’t hurt to
push the speed just a little. The message you send to your kids
is, its OK to speed, as long as you can justify it! The facts are that
unsafe speeds kill more young people 16 to 25 than any other single
thing! The message here needs to be that its OK to slow down and
show up a few minutes late.....it is much better than the alternative,
which is never showing up at all because you’ve been involved in
an accident.
Please remember, when you are driving, you are setting
the example for someone....and they are watching you all the
time. What message are you sending? I hope it’s the one that says,
I’ll lead by example because I love you, and want to do my part to
keep you safe! Thanks for reading, buckle up, and be safe!

A November 23 altercation in Madill led to the arrest
of 29-year-old Kyon Jermaine Gray, who allegedly chased
after other men with a small silver pistol.
According to the police report, Madill police were dispatched to an apartment complex around 4:15 p.m. due to
“someone shooting a gun at another person.” When they
arrived, they made contact with a woman who told them
Gray, her boyfriend and some other men had gotten into
a fight earlier.
She said things escalated, and Gray started chasing after
the other men with a gun. When the men started running
through the sewer plant, trying to get away, the woman
said Gray fired at them. She said Gray told her he was going to kill all of them that night.
Witnesses backed up the woman’s story, and they told
police Gray started chasing after the men with a small silver pistol and shooting at them. The men were able to get
away.
One woman said when she asked Gray to stop shooting, he told her that he would shoot
her too.
Officer went to the scene where the shots had been fired. They found one 22-caliber shell
casing in the grass.
The next day, police apprehended Gray and his girlfriend at the casino. Gray’s account of
the incident was a little different.
An officer asked Gray what happened the day before. Gray said he got into a fight with one
of the men because he had been beating a woman. He said he and his girlfriend left, but when
they went back trying to find the woman, the man started “talking crap again.” Gray said he
then heard a loud bang.
The officer asked him if he had, or if he saw anyone with a pistol. Gray told the officer he
didn’t have a gun because he was a convicted felon. Gray said the loud bang might have happened when another man hit the fence.
Gray is being charged with two counts of assault and battery. He is being held in lieu of a
$75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 30, 2015.

Three Oklahoma City subjects with outstanding warrants were arrested December
14 when police found them holed up in a
Norman motel room with meth.
They didn’t go down without a fight,
though!
According to the affidavit, Norman police
officers went to the motel around 11 a.m. to
speak to a subject. When they knocked on
the door, they could hear people inside. After a few moments, Amy Mallory Addison,
30, opened the door. She seemed very nervous and told police there was no one else in the room. But, police could see a man sitting in a chair.
When dispatch advised the officers Addison had possible felony warrants, she grabbed something out of her pants,
threw it in the trash can and slammed the door. Police immediately entered the room and placed Addison in handcuffs. An officer went to check the bathroom for more people.
Travis L. Beasley, 35, lunged at the officer. A fight ensued, and Amanda Josette Beasley, 39, jumped on one of the
officer’s backs, while screaming at officers not to shoot Travis Beasley. During the fight, a gun fell out of the man’s
pocket.
Police were able to subdue the subjects. They were advised Amanda Beasley had a felony warrant. Officers then
realized Addison was no longer in the room, but they quickly found her and brought her back.
When officers searched the motel room, they found a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance that appeared
to be meth.
On the way to jail, Addison told police she might have something in her pocket. When they arrived, jail staff removed another baggy with a white substance from her pocket.
Addison is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in presence of minor within 1,000
feet of a park and escape from arrest or detention. Her bond was set at $25,000.
Travis Beasley is being charged with possession of firearm after former felony conviction, assault and battery on
police officer and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in presence of minor within 1,000 feet of a park.
His bond was set at $150,000.
Amanda Beasley is being charged with assault and battery on police officer and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in presence of minor within 1,000 feet of a park. Her bond was set at $75,000.
They are all scheduled to appear in court on December 23, 2014.
