54-year-old Gary Lee Branson was put behind bars and his whiskey-making business
was shutdown after officers found an illegal
distillery at his Eagletown home in January
2019.
He was arrested in April for the crime.
According to the affidavit, ABLE officers
were advised by a McCurtain County deputy in early January that there was an illegal
moonshine operation going on somewhere in
Eagletown.
The deputy said they learned during an investigation that Branson was allegedly making the booze at his home in the 3300 block
of Union Valley. The man was then taking the
moonshine to a nearby convenience store,
Short’s Beer To Go, who would sell it to customers.
Undercover officers bought some moonshine from the business on two
separate occasions.
In late January, officers went to Branson’s home.
As officers approached his property, they smelled an odor associated with
the manufacture of illegal moonshine.
They obtained a search warrant and returned to the man’s residence a
short time later.
During the search, officers from multiple law enforcement agencies seized a
variety of items, including collection pots, cookers, burners, thumpers, glass
containers (some were filled with liquid), bags of sugar, containers of yeast,
mash barrels and other items that were marked with Branson’s name.
The suspect was not home at the time of the search.
Branson is being charged with operation of whiskey still or distillery without
distiller’s license. His bond was set at $2,500, and he is scheduled to appear
in court on August 2, 2019.

A 40-year-old Enid attorney found himself on
the wrong side of a jail cell after he allegedly
abused a woman in the early morning hours
of May 12.
According to reports, an Enid officer was
dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block
of Indian Drive at approximately 1:45 a.m. to
investigate reports of a man dragging a woman
into the home.
When the officer arrived, the front door was
open and he could hear loud thuds coming
from inside the house. He knocked and announced himself.
Robert R. Faulk walked through a hallway,
looked at the officer, then continued walking into another room.
Another officer arrived on scene and walked to the back of the residence, where he could hear fighting going on between a man and woman.
The officers walked into the home to investigate. One officer said it sounded like someone was being choked. They walked into a bedroom, where
they found Faulk and a naked woman.
Faulk was placed in handcuffs and put in the patrol car.
The woman was sobbing as she told an officer what happened that
night. The couple had attended a graduation party and gone to the country club. She then went to a friend’s house.
The woman’s hair was disheveled, she seemed extremely scared, and
she had marks on her chest and collarbone, but she was reluctant to say
anything bad about Faulk.
When the officer told her that a neighbor reported Faulk had dragged her
into the house and hit her, the woman replied, “Yeah.”
She kept telling the officer that she didn’t want Faulk to go to jail and she
didn’t want to press charges. She also refused to let officers take photos
of her injuries.
The victim said she had been in the hot tub at her friend’s house. Faulk
became upset and took off her clothes and put her in the car. He told her
he was going to make her stand naked in the front yard. She said everything went black until the police arrived.
Faulk smelled strongly of alcohol and refused to speak to officers.
He is being charged with domestic abuse (prior pattern of physical
abuse), domestic assault and battery by strangulation, intimidation of witness and domestic abuse (assault and battery). He was released on a
$10,000 recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July
1, 2019.
If you, or someone you know, is the victim of domestic violence, please
call the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
at (405) 524-0700 to get help.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

June is Internet Safety Month
Computer interconnectivity has produced
enormous benefits, but has also enabled
criminal activity that exploits this interconnectivity for financial gain and other malicious purposes, such as internet fraud, child
exploitation, identity theft, and terrorism. The
Internet can give identity thieves, hackers,
and scammers online access to your computer, financial and personal information and
more. Additionally, today’s mobile devices are well integrated with the internet
and have far more functionality than mobile phones of the past. They are
increasingly used in the same way as personal computers, potentially making them susceptible to similar threats affecting computers connected to the
Internet.
For youths, the internet often serves as a positive and powerful arena for
socializing and learning. However, the use of the internet also brings about
risks to their safety, including the dangers of sexual solicitation, online harassment and bullying, and exposure to illegal content. By discussing responsible socializing and communicating, parents -- regardless of whether they
are technologically savvy -- can help their kids make better decisions about
online behavior.
Efforts to address cybercrime include activities associated with protecting
networks and information, detecting criminal activity, investigating crime, and
prosecuting criminals, . The Administration has taken significant steps to better protect America against cyber threats and has developed a pragmatic
and focused cyber-security legislative proposal for Congress to consider. The
proposed legislation is focused on improving cyber-security for the American
people, our Nation’s critical infrastructure, and the Federal Government’s own
networks and computers.
Your family, friends and neighbors are all counting on you. If you own a fi rearm
and are not using it, please be responsible and be sure that it’s stored in a safe place.
Visit ncpc.org to determine the best fi rearms safety solution for you.

Thank you and God Bless

golden hair surprise
Mooreland woman Michelle Anne Case,
34, is being charged with identity fraud after
she allegedly used a PayPal account to take
thousands of dollars from her ex-aunt’s boyfriend’s bank account.
The police report states that a Woodward
officer was dispatched to speak to a man who
had discovered multiple fraudulent charges
on his account on May 11. The man was
advised his account was overdrawn when
he tried to withdraw money at a gas station. While looking through his bank account
statements, he noticed several transactions
that he didn’t make. He contacted his girlfriend, who also denied making the charges.
She then contacted her ex-niece, who used
to cut her hair and had access to the victim’s
PayPal information.
The niece, identified as Case, admitted to taking the money through the
app.
The man initially found 52 fraudulent charges on his bank account from
8/8/2018 – 04/10/2019. When the victim received his next bank statement,
he found 23 additional fraudulent charges. The total stolen from the man’s
bank account added up to nearly $18K.
When the officer spoke to Case, the woman said she was out of town but
would stop by when she returned. Instead, she called the officer and admitted to taking the money. She said she was working with the victim to pay
him back. When the officer asked her to come in and write a statement, she
refused and said she was going to seek legal counsel.
The officer asked the victim if he had made any arrangements with Case to
get his money back. He said no and that he wanted to press charges against
her.
Case is being charged with identity theft. Her bond was set at $10,000, and
she is scheduled to appear in court on October 22, 2019.

warrant leads to drug charges
A 50-year-old Longdale man who almost left
a traffic stop with a warning is facing felony
charges because drugs were found in his vehicle after he was arrested for a warrant.
According to the police report, Wesley
Wayne Dodson was arrested on May 15. A
Major County deputy made contact with the
man at an auto detailing shop south of Fairview shortly after 9 p.m., because the man had
been driving on the shoulder.
The deputy asked Dodson for his driver’s license and proof of insurance.
While waiting on dispatch to check the man’s
info, the deputy informed Dodson that he was only receiving a warning and
not a ticket – that was, until dispatch advised that the man had an active
warrant out of Garfield County.
The deputy asked Dodson if there was anything illegal in his vehicle –
Dodson said no. When the deputy asked if he could search the truck,
Dodson again told him no.
After being advised that Garfield County had confirmed the warrant for
the man’s arrest, the deputy placed Dodson in handcuffs.
Dodson asked if he could leave his truck parked in front of the building,
since he worked part time at the business. The deputy asked an employee
if it was OK for the truck to be left, and the employee said no.
While they were waiting for a tow truck to arrive at the location, a Fairview officer conducted inventory of the vehicle. Turns out, Dodson hadn’t
been telling the truth.
The officer found a plastic bag and a container both filled with a crystallike substance that later tested positive for meth, a green leafy substance
that tested positive for marijuana, a portable scale and additional plastic
bags. The officer also located a pouch containing $560 in cash.
When they arrived at the jail, Dodson agreed to speak to the deputy.
He initially denied selling drugs, but then he admitted to using and selling
methamphetamine.
Dodson gave the deputy permission to go through his phone. The deputy found multiple texts and messages that suggested the man was actively
buying and selling drugs.
Dodson is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and tax stamp violation. He is scheduled to
appear in court on June 13, 2019.
