Ada Man Sentenced To 57 Months in
federal prison For Firearm Possession
Neal Lee Morris, 43, of Ada, was sentenced
to 57 months’ imprisonment, and three years
of supervised release for Felon In Possession
Of Firearm. The charges arose from an investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and
the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms
and Explosives.
The Indictment alleged that on June 21,
2019, Morris, who had previously been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment
for a term exceeding one year, and knowing
of such conviction, knowingly possessed a
firearm which had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce.
United States Attorney Brian J. Kuester
said, “A priority of the Department of Justice is to combat and reduce violent crime. A key strategy to achieving this priority is enforcing federal gun
laws thereby removing guns from those who unlawfully possess them. This
defendant had numerous felony convictions and had his weapon in the seat
beside him when he was stopped by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for traffic violations. The federal law enforcement community proudly partners with
state, local and tribal agencies as the ATF and this office did in this case to
help them further our shared mission to serve and protect.”
“Individuals are prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition after
being convicted of a felony,” stated ATF Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey C.
Boshek II. “Despite multiple felony convictions, Mr. Morris was armed when
encountered by law enforcement. Federal prosecution of this crime demonstrates ATF is accountable to, and will protect, our local, state and federal
partners and the communities we serve.”

SEMINOLE COUNTY SHERIFF
SHANNON SMITH
110 S. WEWOKA
WEWOKA, OK 74884
(405) 257-5445
A 45-year-old Seminole man was put behind
bars after he allegedly broke into a residence on
May 22 and helped himself to a few drinks, which
he probably didn’t need.
According to the affidavit, a Seminole County
deputy was advised that a burglary had just occurred at a residence on old Highway 99. The
homeowner said when he came home, he found
a man, later identified as Steven Wayne House,
inside his residence. He believed the man broke
into his home thought the kitchen window on the
back side of his house.
House, who was unsteady on his feet and had
red, bloodshot eyes, was detained at the scene.
The homeowner told the deputy that once House was inside the residence, he helped himself to a few drinks.
The homeowner said House drank a beer and left the can sitting on the
table. He also took several swigs out of a bottle of liquor.
House is being charged with burglary in the second degree. His bond
was set at $10,000.

We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

OSBI OFFERS $5000 REWARD IN 2018
CHOCTAW, OKLA., COLD CASE
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads agents to the persons responsible for the
murder of 35-year-old Eric Trammell.
On August 27, 2018, the Choctaw Police Department requested OSBI
investigate Trammell’s death. He was found on NE 36th Street in Choctaw
and had sustained two gunshot wounds. OSBI agents located video surveillance from the area where he was found and discovered Trammell met
with four men about 30 minutes prior to his murder.
Agents have identified one of the suspects as 20-year-old Jaylen Brown.
Now agents need the public’s help to identify and locate the other three
men. The four suspects arrived together in the same car and were the
ones seen speaking to Trammell before he was shot.
If you have any information about Trammell’s murder or can help identify the men involved, contact the OSBI at (800) 522-8017 or tips@osbi.
ok.gov. YOU CAN REMAIN ANONYMOUS.
The first image (l-r) has been identified as Jaylen Brown. The second
image is of another suspect going into the store. The third image is of two
suspects speaking with Trammell (who has his back to the camera) and

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children receive
public assistance and their parents pay no child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

16 | JUNE 2020 GARVIN COUNTY Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty
A Florida man was arrested after trying to shoplift 15 quart-sized bottles of motor oil
and 30 DVDs from a 7-Eleven — by stuffing the items down his pants.
It’s the sort of thing you might not believe unless you saw it yourself. Fortunately (or
not, for the man in question), the heist was captured on store security cameras.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged theft occurred at a 7-Eleven
in Lakeland, Fla.
Polk County Det. Phil Ryan was parked outside the store when he says he looked
through the store window and saw William Jason Hall, 38, stuff bottles of motor oil
down his pants.
“Mr. Hall then dropped several movies from the shelf onto the floor, bent down,
stacked the movies on top of one another, picked them up, and slid them down into his
pants too,” reads a police statement on the department Facebook page.
“Then he waddles like a duck out of the store,” Sheriff Grady Judd with the Polk
County Sheriff’s Office told NBC News 8. “Our detective who is sitting in the car, watching all of this, says to himself, ‘Self, I think I’ll arrest him.’”
The detective then walked Hall back into the store, where he proceeded to empty his
haul: 15 bottles of Pennzoil motor oil, and 30 “Treasure Hunt” DVDs. Oh, and in case
you’re wondering (how could you not be?) the man managed his baggy pants-banditry
by tucking the ends of his pants into large work boots – allowing him to then stuff the
aforementioned motor oil bottles and DVDs.
He was given a charge of petit theft, a misdemeanor, but because this was his third
offense for small theft, the charge was upgraded to a felony.
“Mr. Hall, the next time you need some motor oil and last-minute gifts, please pay for
them,” police said. “That guy in the car outside might just be a plainclothes detective.”
Police say Joseph McInnis III, 21, and Tyree McCoy, 22, attempted to stage an armed
robbery at a pub in Woodlawn, Md. There was just one problem: the bar was hosting
a retirement party for a police officer and so was filled to the brim with off-duty cops.
“I’m sure that they weren’t planning on there being a large room filled with police
officers,” Baltimore County police Officer Jennifer Peach told WBAL-TV.
According to police, the two men entered the take-out area of Monaghan’s Pub in
Woodlawn and held up an employee at gunpoint, demanding cash.
Meanwhile, dozens of Baltimore County police officers had converged on the pub to
celebrate the retirement of Sgt. David Neal, a 29-year veteran of the force.
“At that time, the person who had been behind the counter knew that there was a
retirement party for a police officer happening, so they went into the other portion and
alerted the officers to the fact that they had just been involved in an armed robbery,”
Peach said.
The two men fled the bar on foot but didn’t make it far before they were apprehended
by police. Neither police nor any employees of the bar were injured during the robbery
or subsequent foot chase.
Jack Milani, the owner of Monaghan’s Pub, told the Baltimore Sun that he’s surprised
anyone would consider robbing his establishment, a known hangout for off-duty cops.
“It’s kind of odd you would even attempt it,” Milani said. “[Police officers] are always
in here. There was a decent amount of them.”
The two men were charged with armed robbery and possession of a handgun, and
transported to the Baltimore County Detention Center.
A bank robbery suspect in Gwinnett County, Ga., is accused of making a crucial
mistake following his alleged crime — he let his identity be known.
Eric Rivers was arrested in connection with a spree of bank robberies in Lawrenceville, Ga. after he appeared in an on-camera interview with a local news station for an
unrelated story about public transit.
Lawrenceville police say Rivers was suspected of having just robbed a Chase Bank
and was believed to be in the midst of casing several other banks when he agreed to
the interview with the WGCL-TV reporter.
“You see, when you accept an interview and provide them with your real name it actually makes our job too easy,” a statement from the Lawrenceville Police Department
read.
Rivers removed his hat and du-rag, which he is alleged to have worn during the robberies based on security camera images released by police.
Authorities say after the interview, Rivers proceeded to scope out a Fidelity Bank in
the area.
As police investigated the reported robberies, a bank manager said the suspect
walked towards the WGCL news truck after leaving the building.
Police followed up the lead and was provided Rivers’ name by the news station.
Lawrenceville Police Det. Scott Pendergrass believes the reporter caught Rivers “off
guard” and “surprised” him.
The department offered advice to would-be criminals in a Facebook post. “When
after having robbed several banks and you are at another bank casing the place for an
additional robbery and are approached by a news crew in the parking lot … DO NOT
stop and agree to an interview with said news crew,” the statement read.
Police allege Rivers attempted five robberies in total, but was successful in making
away with money in just two incidents.

the imperfect plan
An Ardmore man attempted to throw police
off his trail after he escaped from them following a multi-county pursuit by later claiming he
was robbed and his car was stolen.
According to Ardmore Police, on Wednesday, May 27th, at 11:48 pm, Cpl. Glazener
attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a
speeding violation in the 1200 block of W.
Broadway. Due to the vehicle failing to stop,
a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The vehicle
pursuit was restricted to the eastside of Ardmore and speeds reached 70 mph. The
vehicle then turned onto State Highway 199
and traveled eastbound towards the Town of
Dickson. In Dickson, a Dickson Police Officer
attempted to assist with the pursuit, but the
suspect crossed the centerline and attempted to run the Dickson Officer off
the road. The suspect continued traveling eastbound with speeds reaching
120 mph.
The suspect continued to flee to the City of Madill, where a Madill Police
Officer was able to deploy spike strips. Shortly after, the suspect vehicle was
disabled due to flat tires and the suspect fled from the vehicle on foot and
was not captured.
During the post investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect/
driver as 34-year-old Jesse Rogers from Ardmore. Several hours later, Jesse
called 911 and reported that he had been robbed at a gas station and the
suspects in the robbery stole the vehicle used in the pursuit. Jesse was interviewed and it was found that his story was fabricated. Jesse was then taken
into custody and booked into the Carter County Jail. Jesse was booked in
on two felony charges; Assault with A Dangerous Weapon and Attempting to
Elude and one misdemeanor charge of Reckless Driving.

Looting the lottery
The Ardmore Police Department is asking
for the community, business owners, and
employees to be vigilant regarding organized
theft of lottery tickets and tactics used by
criminals to obtain merchandise. On several
occasions in the last 90 days, Ardmore Police Department officers have been called to
a convenience store in Ardmore in reference
to thefts involving several hundred dollars in
lottery tickets.
Upon investigation, it has been determined
that the same heavyset mixed race or black
female was identified as Aireal Michelle Simpkins, who has been charged with Larceny
from a Retail Merchant over ten times in six
counties in Oklahoma in the last two years, as well as similar cases in Arkansas and Kansas. It was discovered that Simpkins apparently operates
the same in every case. She distracts the clerk by asking for lottery tickets,
displaying cash and then changing her mind. Then Simpkins selects large
amounts of snack items, either asks for items such as tobacco products or
other items behind the clerk, which causes the clerk to turn around and she
then grabs the lottery tickets and leaves the store in a black or Blue Chevy
Malibu or Impala.
Simpkins appears to follow state highways and selects small stores right off
the highway. The two cases in Ardmore have been forwarded to the Carter
County District Attorney for Formal Charges.
The Ardmore Police Department urges store owners, clerks, and citizens to
be on the lookout for Simpkins. Anyone with information pertaining to these
crimes, please contact Detective John Johnson at (580) 221-2556. Callers

Computer interconnectivity has produced enormous benefits, but has also enabled criminal activity that exploits this interconnectivity for financial gain and other malicious purposes, such as
internet fraud, child exploitation, identity theft, and
terrorism. The Internet can give identity thieves,
hackers, and scammers online access to your
computer, financial and personal information and
more. Additionally, today’s mobile devices are well
integrated with the internet and have far more
functionality than mobile phones of the past. They
are increasingly used in the same way as personal computers, potentially making them susceptible to similar threats affecting computers connected to the Internet.
For youths, the internet often serves as a positive and powerful arena for socializing and
learning. However, the use of the internet also brings about risks to their safety, including
the dangers of sexual solicitation, online harassment and bullying, and exposure to illegal
content. By discussing responsible socializing and communicating, parents -- regardless of
whether they are technologically savvy -- can help their kids make better decisions about
online behavior.
Efforts to address cybercrime include activities associated with protecting networks and
information, detecting criminal activity, investigating crime, and prosecuting criminals, . The
Administration has taken significant steps to better protect America against cyber threats and
has developed a pragmatic and focused cyber-security legislative proposal for Congress to
consider. The proposed legislation is focused on improving cyber-security for the American
people, our Nation’s critical infrastructure, and the Federal Government’s own networks and
computers.
June is Internet Safety Month
To Be A PerfecT PArenT.

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty MARSHALL COUNTY 23 | JUNE 2020
A Kingston man was taken into custody after he
allegedly broke into several businesses to satisfy
his need for munchies and tools.
Nathan William Whitney, 27, was charged May
12 with one count of felony burglary first degree,
and two counts of felony burglary second degree,
in Marshall County District Court.
Reports state he was arrested for burglarizing
several Kingston businesses and taking items
from Country Kitchen, Jack Attack Barbecue, and
Do It Best Lumberyard at least twice in May.
Whitney allegedly stole items that included two
cash registers, several tools and food.
Whitney bond was set at $50,000 bond and his
next court appearance is scheduled for June 9, 2020.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
