MURDER FOR HIRE
A Ponca City woman is being accused of trying
to hire someone to kill her ex-husband via a Craigslist ad.
According to the affidavit, 37-year-old Danielle
Dana Layman was arrested June 30 after FBI agents
were advised of her murder-for-hire scheme.
A search of the woman’s home revealed several castor beans in the kitchen, used to make the
poison ricin. They also found a mortar and pestle,
and instructions on how to turn the beans into ricin,
which has no known antidote.
Investigators learned of Layman’s plans after a woman contacted them and
said she responded to a Craigslist ad Layman posted for a 10-day acting gig
overseas.
According to the arrest warrant, the ad read, ““For production overseas,
looking for talent, 30-45 years old. Doesn’t have to be a professional actor.
Required: Creative, outgoing and friendly, positive personality, boldness and
bravery (some stunts may seem risky, although they are completely safe).”
The woman said she met with Layman in May at a Ponca City coffee shop,
but learned that the posting wasn’t an acting gig at all. It was actually a paid
mission to poison a taxi driver in Israel, identified as Layman’s ex-husband.
Layman referred to the mission as “Operation Insecticide.”
Layman wanted the woman to arrange rides with the ex-husband, and
offer him a cup of coffee every morning that had been spiked with ricin. The
woman was to report back if the man started to show signs of illness, or if he
failed to pick her up.
According to investigators, the Israeli-born Layman and her ex had been
fighting over visitation rights with their daughter.
Layman allegedly offered the woman $4,000 plus expenses to kill her
ex-husband.
Layman is being charged with use of interstate commerce facilities in the
commission of murder-for-hire. She was released from federal custody on
July 11 on an unsecured $50,000 bond, and will remain on house arrest
pending trial.

For the past few years, Missouri
State University has been conducting
a study on the population growth of
the alligator snapping turtles in northern Osage Co.
Game Wardens are seeking information on who may have taken the
MSU’s hoop nets in Pond Creek near
the CR 3809 bridge crossing. There
was a net pulled with an alligator
snapping turtle in it which was shot
in the head.
Because of its rarity and low reproductive rate, the alligator snapping turtle is classified as a species
of concern and year-round closed
season prohibits the trapping, possession or killing of these turtles. If
anyone has information regarding this crime, please contact Oklahoma

effects of drugs on the brain and behavior and to regain control of their lives.
Like many diseases, it can take several attempts at treatment to find the right
approach. But assure your friend or loved one that you will be supportive in

COUPLE ARRESTED AFTER STEALING
PROPERTY, TRYING TO RUN MAN OVER
Tulsa couple Amos Marion Young, 48,
and Pamela Marie Ruark, 53, were arrested after they were allegedly caught trying to
steal some property on June 28.
According to the affidavit, a Pawnee
County deputy was dispatched to the 200
block of Hanna Gwin at approximately 9
a.m. A man on scene said he saw an unfamiliar red truck drive past his property, so
he followed it to a nearby residence. A man
and woman were trying to take the water
heater out of the home. When he confronted them, they jumped in the truck and tried
to run him over. The truck became stuck,
and the man and woman took off running
into the woods.
The deputy observed that the water heater had been removed from the house. There
was a tiller in the bed of the truck that had
been reported stolen earlier that morning.
Dispatch also advised the deputy that the
truck had been reported stolen out of Tulsa.
At approximately 11:25 a.m., the deputy found Young and Ruark walking southbound on Highway 99 near Second Street
in Hallett. He asked Young if his truck had
just passed on the wrecker. Young said it
was his brother’s. He denied knowing anything about the burglary that had just occurred.
The reporting party identified the couple as the culprits, but said it appeared as
though they had switched shirts. Young was wearing a purple shirt that
was a few sizes too small, and Ruark was in a T-shirt several sizes too big.
The deputy placed them under arrest.
The next morning, Young said he, Ruark, and a male friend left Tulsa
around 7 a.m. the day before and went to a man’s house near Hallett. His
friend asked to borrow the truck to go to the store, but he never returned,
so Young called his brother to report the truck stolen.
When the deputy asked Young why he and Ruark had switched shirts,
the man became irritated and said he wanted to speak to an attorney.
The couple is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon,
possession of stolen vehicle, burglary in the second degree, malicious injury to property under $1,000, and petit larceny. Their bonds were set at
$10,000. Ruark was scheduled to appear in court on July 18, 2017, and
Amos is scheduled to appear in court on August 29, 2017.

An alleged burglar in California whose luck ran out when he got stuck inside a
home’s chimney has been arrested.
Officers from the Ridgecrest Police Department were initially dispatched to a home
after reports of a triggered burglary alarm.
A few minutes later, police got another call — this time from a woman who claimed
that her friend was trapped in a chimney at the same address.
When officers arrived, they discovered Keith Schultz, 28, wedged in the chimney.
They also found signs of forced entry and an open back door, leading them to conclude that Shultz’s accomplices broke into the home with him, and then fled the scene
when they were unable to free him.
Schultz, who was covered in soot in his mug shot, was eventually rescued from the
chimney by firefighters. He was taken to Bakersfield jail and charged with burglary.
Police have arrested two men and seized guns and marijuana after a video emerged
of them appearing in a “mannequin challenge” styled as a shoot-out. The video (which
is very well-done, incidentally) has been shared over 86,000 times is since it was posted to Facebook on November 9, 2016, and quickly become a social-media sensation,
racking up over 173,000 YouTube views.
An official from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office told reporters that after viewing
the video, investigators served a search warrant. They reportedly found two handguns, a shotgun, a rifle, and marijuana that appeared to be packaged for sale at the
residence.
Police have charged Terry Martez Brown, 23, with drug-paraphernalia possession,
loitering, and promoting prison contraband. Kenneth Fennell White, 49, faces charges
of first-degree marijuana possession and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
28-year-old Ricardo Cardona spent 20 minutes bashing down the door of Hudson Meats in south Austin. When he finally got into the place, he grabbed a couple
of packages of sausages from the cooler and took them back outside. The security
camera captured him walking back in and into the 40°F meat cooler for a moment
before heading to the office area, where he found a warm coat to put on and settled in
to sleeping off the alcohol he’d consumed before his arrival at someone’s desk. When
workers arrived the next morning, they called police. Cardona woke up to the police
officers charging him with criminal trespass.
Florida man Derrick Walden was busted after a six-hour standoff with police. Walden
got into a heated argument with a woman, who called police at around 9:15 P.M. after
the fight began to get seriously heated. Walden then barricaded himself and his victim inside the apartment and threatened to shoot police if they tried to enter the building. Negotiators worked for hours, and at around 3 A.M. the next morning Walden
finally let the woman go. He then fell asleep, enabling officers to arrest Walden, and he
was charged with misdemeanor battery, felony battery, domestic violence (strangulation), probation violation, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
When a police officer in Kootenai County, Idaho, conducted a security check of
Stoddard Park, he was surprised to see a Jeep Cherokee sitting parked next to a vehicle belonging to the Street Department of Hayden City. He was also surprised to see a
funnel sticking out of the fuel tank of the Jeep, as well as a siphoning hose in the Street
Department vehicle and a gas can between the two vehicles. Inside the Jeep, a woman was out cold in the front seat with drug paraphernalia sitting on the Jeep’s center
console. When the officer woke the woman up, he realized that she was also sitting
on a small bag of meth. Backup deputies busted Alyssa Wolf, 22, for possession and
drug charges and 25-year-old Scott Miller for siphoning the gas and burglary charges.

Washington County Sheriff’s Reserves are holding a Benefit Breakfast
sponsored by Bartlesville Masonic Lodge #284 on Saturday August 5,
2017. The breakfast will be held at 610 NE Washington Blvd. in Bartlesville,
starting at 7 a.m. and ending at 11 a.m.
It is all you can eat!
This benefit breakfast provides funds for the Thanksgiving food baskets
for area needy families and also aids the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in providing gifts for underprivileged kids at Christmas. Last year the
Sheriff’s Office was able to donate 20 Thanksgiving food baskets and provide gifts for 44 kids for the Christmas holiday.

A Dewey man was taken into custody after
he allegedly had sex with a minor girl.
Richard Garrett, 28, was charged July 10
with first-degree rape and forcible sodomy in
Washington County District Court.
According to reports, Garrett admitted to
having sex with the 17-year-old girl, but he
said it was consensual; he denied that he
forced himself on her.
The incident allegedly happened in the
girl’s mother’s home.
Bond for Garrett was set at $30,000 and he
was ordered not to have any contact with the girl. His next court appearance was set for July 28 at 9 a.m.
