Need A Bondsman?
1-800-BAIL-OUT
OKLAHOMA STATE-WIDE
A Ponca City man refused to return a friend’s car after
borrowing it on October 1.
The reason? 32-year-old Curtis Lewis Johnson just wasn’t
done with it yet.
According to the affidavit, Johnson went to his neighbor’s
house shortly after 7 p.m. and asked if he could borrow the
man’s car for a medical emergency for approximately 30
minutes.
Knowing Johnson’s mom had health problems, the neighbor agreed.
Around 8 p.m., Johnson still hadn’t returned the car. The neighbor didn’t have
the man’s phone number, so he called the Ponca City Police Department.
An officer went to the residence in the 900 block of Riviera Drive to take a report on the stolen vehicle.
The owner of the car was finally able to get a hold of Johnson, but Johnson told
him, “I borrowed the car. I’m not done using it. Go ahead and file the report.”
Well, OK!
The next day at approximately 1:50 p.m., the officer saw the stolen vehicle in
the driveway of the owner. Johnson was sitting in the driver’s seat. As the officer
approached the vehicle, he saw Johnson removing his keys from the owner’s key
ring.
The officer asked him what he was doing. He replied, “Nothing, What are you
doing?”
The officer asked him to step out of the car and placed him under arrest.
During booking, the officer asked him if he wanted to talk about the incident.
Johnson replied, “What incident? There is nothing to talk about.”
Johnson is being charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle. His bond was set
at $7,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court on December 4, 2015.
Can I borrow your car
-- today and forever?

James Steven Blackburn, 35, allegedly attacked a
woman after she told him he was being too rough with
a kitten.
The Bartlesville man was arrested for the assault, even
though he blamed the injury on the victim.
On October 2, a Washington County deputy was dispatched to a motel in the 100 block of NE Mockingbird
in Bartlesville shortly after 9:25 p.m. due to an assault.
Bartlesville officers on scene advised the deputy that
Blackburn assaulted a woman at the motel.
The woman said she was in Blackburn’s room, and
they started arguing about how rough he was being with
a small kitten. When the woman told him he needed to be gentler with the cat, he
freaked out and slammed her head into the door. He then grabbed her arm and
cut her with a razor.
According to the affidavit, the woman said Blackburn told her if she called the
police, he would tell them she cut her own wrist. The victim said she had a hard
time getting away from him, but she eventually broke away and ran to a nearby
room. She said Blackburn followed her into the room and punched her in the
face.
When the deputy spoke to Blackburn, he was less than cooperative. He told the
deputy that the victim came to his room to get some food. She then walked into
his bathroom and cut her wrist with a razor.
When the deputy asked him how the victim’s face was injured, the man didn’t
have an answer.
The deputy placed Blackburn under arrest and walked outside. He saw a trail
of blood and followed it to another room.
The man in the room said the victim showed up to his room and was “frantic.”
He said she sat down on his bed and Blackburn charged in, even though the man
told him to leave. The man said Blackburn began hitting the woman in the face,
causing blood to go everywhere.
After Blackburn was locked up, the deputy went to the emergency room to
speak to the victim.
She was being transported to Tulsa to undergo immediate surgery for her broken jaw.
Blackburn is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon,
aggravated assault and battery, and forcible entry. His bond was set at $250,000,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on October 30, 2015.

What you’re saying
about this on...
Thomas M: This is the most ridiculous question I’ve heard all day
Okjailbirds: But it’s important to a lot of people in this state.
Landon C: Find a different way to extract oil and natural gas, and you can make
fracking illegal.
Nic T: Fracking causes earthquakes!
Marilyn R: Oklahoma is an energy producing state, we depend on oil field to
feed our families. So the state shakes some at least we are still surviving and maybe the
shaking will keep our state from being so populated
Jaylan H: Yea if you people like walking everywhere
Lester H: Been n patch 30 yes there were earthquake s b4 cracking grow up liberals
Joe M: This drawing is deceiving. A typical water table is approximately <100-350’ in Oklahoma. Generally with a horizontal well like this one the operator will drill 7,000’ or more before making the “curve.” This would put you over a mile below the water table. Shawn G: Obvious who is in the oil and gas industry. What no one cares what it is doing to the ground water? It is all being determined by money and greed with no regard to the ramifications it will bring in the future. Christopher F: Thank God for the patch!! It feeds my family, and many of my friends families!! Allen G: Sure is you wanna pay 10$ a gallon for gas because OPEC will have all the control Chris M: That graphic is so far from the truth. So much much much further from the water table.. Jonathan J: Do you drive a vehicle? Ryan F: If they abide by the epa laws then the govt should stay the hell out of it! Theyre already sticking their noses where it doesnt belong Karyn C: It’s it going to pollute our drinking water? Destroy our farming land? Pollute the air? Hurt our children? Grandchildren? Us? Pollute our land where we live, play, work? If the answer is ‘yes’ to any of these, then no. John M: Yes and yes Travis B: Oil companies will all be shut down before long. It’s just a matter of time and technology. But then there are people that think oil will last forever! Lmao Jerrod A: That’s what gives me all these nice things and good living Lester H: If u don’t like the oilfield u need to walk everywhere u go and heat your homes n children the best way u know how n cook the best way u can because without the patch their is no of the other n if u work down the road n one way or another its gonna affect ya. And as far as ur water spray chemical s has probably done more had than the patch if its done right RJ W: No Should fracking be illegal? Should local governments be able to outlaw it if the state won’t? your thoughts on fracking Below are registrants that are believed to be in violation of the Sex Offenders Registration Act. Alderman was busted when he drove to Hominy to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex. Unfortunately for him, the 14-year-old was actually a police officer waiting to take him to jail. According to the police report, an Osage County investigator was conducting an investigation into online sexual predators when he first met Alderman. Alderman identified himself as a 45-year-old male and seemed happy when the deputy identified himself as a 14-year-old girl. Alderman said some graphic things to the “girl” during the encounter and solicited sexual conduct. Alderman said he would meet the girl at a Hominy restaurant. The deputy saw the suspect’s car around 1:30 a.m., but Alderman texted the “girl” and said he was paranoid so he was driving around until he saw her. They changed the meeting location, and it wasn’t long before Alderman arrived. The deputy placed him under arrest. During a patdown search, he located a bottle of lube in the man’s pocket. He also found a smoking pipe with residue and a baggy containing a clear crystal substance that appeared to be meth in the man’s vehicle. During an interview, Alderman told police his cellphone contained multiple videos of “graphic” child pornography. Alderman is being charged with soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology, possession of controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on November 12, 2015. National Adoption Month is a time to raise awareness about the adoption of children and youth from foster care. The Children’s Bureau in partnership with AdoptUSKids and Child Welfare Information Gateway sponsors the initiative each November as a way to focus public attention on the urgent need for adoptive families for children and youth waiting in foster care for a permanent family. This year’s focus, “Partnering for Permanency,” builds on the social media theme from last year. A special web page on Information Gateway’s website helps child welfare professionals, prospective adoptive parents, and youth partner for permanency. The website contains resources, stories, and videos on topics such as getting started with social media, how to build a recruitment campaign, and how social media impacts child welfare and adoption. Jeff James Oklahoma Highway Patrol This month’s Tips is less of a tip than it is a serious request for help from you, the motoring public. I would like to make a personal appeal to each and every reader who sees this to help us Troopers try to eliminate one of the toughest jobs that we ever have to do. It is something that everyone who drives can have an impact on. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is tasked with the investigation of motor vehicle accidents on the public roadways outside the city limits in the State of Oklahoma. In the course of this, we investigate a huge number of fatalities. For each fatality victim, it is the duty of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to personally notify the next of kin. For each life lost, there is a knock on a door somewhere, where an OHP Trooper has to deliver news that will forever change the lives of the person or persons on the other side. Sadly, these knocks on the door could have been prevented by somebody involved in the accident. Sometimes it’s the person who died whose unsafe or unlawful action caused the accident that took their life. Often times it is not. Each and every Trooper you see working the roads every day has had to knock on that door. I think if you asked, every single one would tell you this is the worst aspect of our job. Trying to prevent this is one of the reasons we do what we do. We know if we work hard, we can stop some of these knocks. We also know the motoring public can help us stop some of these knocks as well. The following are just a few ways for you to do your part to help. First and foremost, obey the law. It really doesn’t matter if your personal opinion of the rules of the road don’t make sense, or shouldn’t apply in certain situations. Each one of them is designed for us to travel safely on the road. Slow down, and give your full, undivided attention to the road. Watch out for the other driver. When you see something happening ahead of you, slow down! “I was late”, or “I was texting” just doesn’t cut it as responses to a grieving family when they ask why this happened. Is it something you could live with if it was your reason for taking a life? The people on the other side of that knock aren’t the only ones affected by the experience. We Troopers have all held strangers as the initial horror and shock of the news takes hold of them. We have all prayed with families we just met, and asked if we could have done more to prevent it. Each and every day we are trying to stop The Knock. Now I’m asking you to help us. Thanks for reading, buckle up, and be safe! False. Sexual assault victims may not say “no” or not fight back for a variety of reasons including fear and confusion. Rape victims often report being “frozen” by fear during the assault, making them unable to fight back; other victims may not actively resist for fear of angering the assailant and causing him to use more force in the assault. Pressure to be liked and not be talked about negatively by a peer will sometimes cause adolescents or children to avoid fighting back or actively resisting. The sex offenders page is not a complete listing of all offenders in these counties; we will be publishing more in each month’s issue. According to the police report, the Pawnee officer was on patrol when he first saw the vehicle traveling west on Catlett around 5:37 p.m. He noticed the driver was looking at him when she turned left onto the highway, almost causing a wreck. The officer stopped the car at the intersection of First and Cleveland. The driver identified herself as 21-year-old Shelby Paige Treat. The passenger was Isaac Lowell Haga, 30. The officer knew Haga from previous dealings and was aware the man was a meth user. The officer checked the tag on the car -- it expired in April 2015. Treat’s license had also been revoked. A K9 was called to the scene. The dog alerted on the passenger side of the vehicle. During a search of the car, police found a syringe and spoon on Haga’s side of the vehicle. They also found several small baggies, a smoking pipe, a straw, a scale, a baggy full of anxiety pills, and a bag full of marijuana. The woman also handed over a tin that was hidden in her bra. The tin contained several baggies that were full of a crystal substance, which tested positive for meth. Another baggy contained several pills that were identified as controlled dangerous substances. There was also a good amount of cash in the car. Haga admitted the spoon and syringe were his. He asked officers, “Am I being arrested for just misdemeanor drug paraphernalia?” Apparently, this wasn’t his first time. Haga is being charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on November 3, 2015. Treat is being charged with unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute, possession of controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with license revoked and failure to devote full time and attention. Her bond was set at $20,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on October 20, 2015.
