AROUND THE STATE
I WANNA ROCK!
Two suspects arrested after claiming they inherited the guitar.
On May 9, we received a report about a burglary from a car where a guitar, amp, and other
sound equipment were stolen from a vehicle near
81st and Yale in Tulsa.
On May 10 around 6:00 p.m., Officers were
called out to a guitar store near 71st and Mingo.
The store reported that two men, identified as
Scott Hill and Matthew Prior, brought the stolen
equipment to the store and tried to sell them.
The store employees recognized the equipment
from social media posts. Employees also said the
two suspects appeared to have little to no knowledge about the items they were selling or their value. The employees at the store were dialed into
the local music world and immediately recognized the stolen equipment from a
social media post. It was also apparent that the two suspects weren’t musicians
and had no idea of the value of the equipment nor what it was they were actually
trying to sell.
The two suspects told employees they inherited the guitar and equipment.
They later changed their story and told Officers they received the property from
someone else in exchange for a debt being paid.
The victim was contacted and his equipment was returned. The recovered
property has a total value of around $3200.
Scott Hill and Matthew Prior were both arrested for Knowingly Concealing
Stolen Property. The burglary from vehicle is still under investigation.

AROUND THE STATE
A Elk City woman was charged with arson after lighting up motel last month.
Elk City woman Fallon Tia Borzea, 40, allegedly set the Kings Inn motel on fire April 21.
According to reports, she was caught on
film at the scene of the crime earlier that morning. The surveillance footage
showed her walking from a room at the motel shortly before 1:30 a.m.
She then walked to some dumpsters close to Third Street. Shortly after, a
fire was caught on film as she walked away from the area and headed toward
the motel’s laundry room.
After a visit to the laundry room, Borzea went back to her room. There was
smoke coming from the laundry room.
When officers arrested the woman later that afternoon at her home in the
900 block of West Second Street, she admitted that she had burned some
papers in the dumpster.
Borzea is being charged with arson in the first degree. Her bond was set at
$100,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on July 10, 2023.

NO SHOW JONES
A 47-year-old man who previously served as
a lieutenant with the Durant Police Department
allegedly stole thousands of dollars from the
DPD before retiring last year.
According to reports, Billy Joe Jones worked
for the police department for four years. He is being accused of embezzling
approximately $67,000 while working as a narcotics officer. He was supposed
to transfer the money to the Bryan County treasurer, but allegedly took the
money from the evidence log and never deposited it.
Jones is also being accused of embezzling more than $37,000 from the
local Fraternal Order of Police. He allegedly took the money through withdrawing cash at the ATM. There was no reason to use the ATM, since checks
were used so there was a record.
Police discovered the discrepancies in May 2022. That was four years after
Jones allegedly began embezzling the funds.
Jones is being charged with two counts of embezzlement. His bond was
set at $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 24, 2023.

JUNE IS
INTERNET
SAFETY MONTH
Computer interconnectivity has produced enormous benefits, but has also
enabled criminal activity that exploits
this interconnectivity for financial gain
and other malicious purposes, such
as internet fraud, child exploitation,
identity theft, and terrorism. The Internet can give identity thieves, hackers, and
scammers online access to your computer, financial and personal information
and more. Additionally, today’s mobile devices are well integrated with the internet and have far more functionality than mobile phones of the past. They are
increasingly used in the same way as personal computers, potentially making
them susceptible to similar threats affecting computers connected to the Internet.
For youths, the internet often serves as a positive and powerful arena for socializing and learning. However, the use of the internet also brings about risks to
their safety, including the dangers of sexual solicitation, online harassment and
bullying, and exposure to illegal content. By discussing responsible socializing
and communicating, parents -- regardless of whether they are technologically
savvy -- can help their kids make better decisions about online behavior.
Efforts to address cybercrime include activities associated with protecting
networks and information, detecting criminal activity, investigating crime, and
prosecuting criminals, . The Administration has taken significant steps to better protect America against cyber threats and has developed a pragmatic and
focused cyber-security legislative proposal for Congress to consider. The proposed legislation is focused on improving cyber-security for the American people, our Nation’s critical infrastructure, and the Federal Government’s own networks and computers.

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty 19 | JUNE 2023 CHOCTAW COUNTY
THOSE WHO PREY
A Choctaw County Resident has been sentenced
to federal prison for Abusive Sexual Contact In Indian
Country.
Jimmy Ray Robinson, age 55, of Choctaw County,
was sentenced to the statutory maximum 24 months in
federal prison for one count of Abusive Sexual Contact
in Indian Country.
Robinson pleaded guilty to the offense in August 2022.
The evidence in this case established that in September of 2020, Robinson intentionally touched a child over the clothing in a sexual manner. The victim disclosed the abuse
and provided details during a forensic interview.
On August 24, 2022, Robinson pleaded guilty to one count of Abusive Sexual Contact
in Indian Country. Robinson was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal to await sentencing.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation.
“Let today’s sentence send the message that those who prey on Oklahoma’s children
will be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” said FBI Oklahoma City
Special Agent in Charge Edward J. Gray. “The FBI and our law enforcement partners
remain committed to ensuring the safety of our communities, especially our most vulnerable citizens.”
“Cases like this are especially troubling and heart-wrenching,” said United States Attorney Christopher J. Wilson. “I am thankful for the work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Attorney’s Office to see to it the defendant was brought
to justice.”
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma prosecuted
this case because the defendant is a member of a federally recognized Indian tribe and
the crimes occurred in Choctaw County, within the boundaries of the Choctaw Nation
Reservation and the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The Honorable Bernard M. Jones, U.S. District Judge in the United States District
Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, presided over the sentencing in Muskogee.
Robinson will remain in custody pending transportation to a designated United States
Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his non-paroleable sentence of incarceration. Upon
completion of his term of imprisonment, Robinson will serve a life term of supervised
release under Federal supervision. CHAD
