AT LARGE NO MORE
A man who authorities say was the largest supplier
of fentanyl to Stillwater was locked up on March 18
after an extensive investigation.
According to reports, Stillwater officers arrested
multiple people for drug related offenses over the
past 6 months. Some of the arrestees told investigators that Edmond man Cord Leshandon Moore, 29, gave them pressed fentanyl pills. They also said Moore wouldn’t
go to Stillwater, because he was afraid of getting arrested.
Reports state that Moore has an extensive drug history in Payne County. He was
arrested in Payne County for trafficking in illegal drugs in 2016 and was sentenced
to 30 years to the Department of Corrections (DOC). He was released from prison in
August 2022.
Edmond police officers arrested Moore on March 18. He was booked into the Payne
County Jail on March 24.
Moore is being charged with racketeering after the former conviction of a felony
and conspiring to commit aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance, third and
subsequent offense. His bond was set at $2 million, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on April 4, 2023. TYLER

ARMED
ROBBERY
On Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:53 a.m.,
Stillwater Police Department (SPD) responded
to 1502 N. Cimarron Plaza in reference to an
armed robbery. It was reported that two Hispanic males in all black clothing, black cloth masks
and black gloves robbed the Hispanic Grocery store, El Arenal. The suspects
fled northbound through the complex in a light gray SUV. It is possible that
there was a third suspect who was driving the SUV.
The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and a cell phone. The
cell phone was later located in the area of Lakeview and Monroe.
Surveillance footage in the area revealed that the vehicle is possibly a silver
2015 or newer Chevy Equinox. We have included a still image of the surveillance footage.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Stillwater Police Department tipline at (405) 533-8477 or (405) 372-4171.

DEPEW MAN
CONVICTED OF
SEX CRIMES
A Depew man who used Snapchat to coerce
and entice a minor to commit sexual acts was
convicted March 23 in federal court.
Johnny Lee Summers, 23, was found guilty of
coercion and enticement of a minor; sexual abuse
of a minor in Indian Country; and abusive sexual contact with a minor in Indian
Country.
“The coercive and manipulative conduct perpetrated by Johnny Summers
against a teenage girl is criminal and inexcusable,” said U.S. Attorney Clint
Johnson. “This week, the victim took a stand against her abuser, joined by two
previous child victims of the defendant. Their compelling testimony helped to
ensure Summers was held accountable. I want victims to know that the law
enforcement community supports them. We will fully investigate accusations of
child sexual abuse and work tirelessly to bring abusers to justice.”
Prosecutors showed that Summers coerced a 14-year-old to engage in sexual
activity with him from February 2021 to January 2022. Summers sent thousands
of sexually inappropriate messages to the victim on Snapchat and convinced
her to engage in sexual activity. He also solicited nude images of the victim and
sent her nude images of himself.
Summers’ conduct continued to escalate when he regularly isolated the victim
in a bathroom and touched the her in a sexual manner. His crimes culminated
when Summers attempted to have sex with her in the bathroom.
During trial, two previous victims of Summers testified that he had solicited
nude images and videos of them over Snapchat and Facebook messenger
when they were underage.
During closing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Luster told the jury that Summers had
manipulated the victim, as well as the victim’s older sister, and his attempts to
blame others for his conduct should fall on deaf ears, as he needed to be held
responsible for his conduct.

APRIL IS NATIONAL CHILD ABUSE
PREVENTION MONTH
ESSENTIALS FOR CHILDHOOD
The CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control defines three critical
qualities of relationships and environments
that can reduce the occurrence and negative
effects of child maltreatment and other ACEs
(CDC, 2019):
1. Safety: The extent to which a child is free
from fear and secure from physical or psychological harm within his or her social and
physical environment
2. Stability: The degree of predictability and
consistency in a child’s social, emotional, and physical environment
3. Nurturing: The extent to which children’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs are sensitively and consistently met
CDC’s Essentials for Childhood focuses on four goals that are critical for creating
the context for safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments:
Goal 1: Raise awareness and commitment to promote safe, stable, nurturing
relationships and environments for all children
Goal 2: Use data to inform actions
Goal 3: Create the context for healthy children and families by changing norms
and programs Goal 4: Create the context for healthy children and families through
policies
While each individual goal is important, meeting the four goals together is more
likely to build a comprehensive foundation of safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments for children. CDC has funded seven State health departments to implement the four goals.
For additional information on Essentials for Childhood, refer to the following:
Essentials for Childhood: Creating Safe, Stable, Nurturing Relationships and
Environments

Programmatic Activities

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

Accused car thief released from NC jail allegedly steals bond agent’s SUV
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man accused of stealing a car apparently could not resist another theft
when he bonded out of jail.
According to a bail bond agent in Charlotte, North Carolina, her vehicle was
stolen after she went inside the Mecklenburg County Jail on Dec. 30 to post bail
for a client, WSOC-TV reported. She accused a man who had just posted bail
of swiping her vehicle.
“He has to be the boldest and the dumbest criminal in the city,” Nymea Cropper told the television station. “The audacity to get out of jail, walk outside of the
jail and steal a car.”
According to police, Anthony Deshawn Goddard, 29, posted $3,000 bail after
being arrested on Dec. 29. According to online Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s
Office booking records, Goddard had been charged with possession of stolen
goods, resisting an officer, reckless driving, speeding, and operating a vehicle
without an operator’s license.
According to police, surveillance video showed Goddard breaking into Cropper’s SUV and driving away, WSOC reported.
“The car was definitely stolen at 11:02 (p.m.). I came outside at 11:05,” Cropper told the television station. “So this kid just thinks he can steal a car and
nothing’s going to happen to him.”
Cropper said that she has spoken to other bail bond businesses and believes
that if the alleged thief is caught, bail will be next to impossible to secure. She
also reiterated her message to the person who swiped her vehicle.
“I would say you’re stupid,” Cropper told WSOC. “You’re the stupidest criminal and I can’t wait until you get caught, ‘cause no one is going to bond you
out,” she said.

DRUNK AND
DANGEROUS
A 23-year-old Wellston man was arrested after
he allegedly fired a gun at his parents on February
24.
According to the police report, Lincoln County
deputies were dispatched to investigate a shooting in progress at a residence on S. 3570 Road.
The reporting party said her son, Clyde Edgar Gladden III, was drunk and
shooting at her and her husband.
A Stroud police officer located the man in a truck and tried to stop him. Gladden kept on driving, leading the officer on a pursuit south on 3570 Road, then
west to Highway 99.
During the pursuit, Gladden drove into oncoming traffic, forcing other motorists off the road. He drove in excess of 90 mph in a 45-mph zone and didn’t stop
for stop signs.
An officer tried to stop the man’s truck with a tactical intervention, but Gladden
kept on driving.
Officers set up some spike sticks - Gladden hit the spike sticks, but he drove
for a couple more miles before coming to a stop in the middle of 770 Road.
Gladden stepped out of his truck holding a semi automatic long rifle. He then
ran into an oil field drive. A deputy followed the man in his patrol car, eventually
hitting the man with the vehicle.
When officers placed the man under arrest, they noticed that he smelled
strongly like alcohol and appeared to be highly intoxicated.
The man’s mom and her husband later told investigators that a stream of
events led to Gladden and the husband physically fighting. A drunk Gladden
took off his clothes and grabbed the rifle. He shot near the ground where the
husband was.
An investigator located spots in the ground where Gladden had fired the gun.
Gladden is being charged with two counts of shooting with intent to kill, two
counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, and eluding/attempting to elude a
police officer. His bond was set at $150,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on May 11, 2023. ZENAIDA

ABUSING THE SYSTEM
A 39-year-old man who previously served as
a Logan County commissioner is being charged
with embezzlement.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on March
24 and was taken into custody March 27.
According to reports, Kody Ray Ellis resigned from the position on February 28. He was sworn into office as the District 2 Commissioner in 2021.
Local officials started an investigation into Ellis when they notified the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation about their suspicions. OSBI officials
spoke to Ellis after a January 13 Board of County Commissioners meeting.
The investigation led to officials discovering Ellis allegedly embezzled fuel.
Between July 1, 2021, and July 31, 2022, Ellis misused public money. He
fueled up his personal vehicle with gas that belonged to District 2. He did this
even though he already received a $700 monthly stipend for mileage.
Ellis is being charged with embezzlement. His bond was set at $5,000, and
he is scheduled to appear in court on April 27, 2023.
