GONE TOO FAR
Four Oklahoma State University students were
arrested and are facing misdemeanor charges for
their role in a prank against another fraternity last
year.
According to reports, authorities were dispatched to the Farmhouse Fraternity on the
morning of December 1. Someone found a dead
longhorn on the house’s front lawn, located on
the corner of S. Monroe Street and W. Third Avenue. The suspects had written “F— FH” on the
side of the longhorn.
Necropsy findings revealed that the animal had
died from natural causes before it was placed on
the lawn.
Tire tracks on the fraternity’s lawn suggested
the suspects had used a truck or truck and trailer
to dump the longhorn.
During the investigation, Stillwater police
learned that Farmhouse and another fraternity,
Alpha Gamma Rho, were involved in a prank war.
They conducted a search warrant at Alpha Gamma Rho and arrested four members.
The suspects were identified as Luke Ackerley,
19; Bennet Fady, 20; Andrew King, 19; and Brody
Shelby, 19.
The suspects have been suspended from their
fraternity during the investigation.
All four suspects are facing one count of unlawful disposal of a carcass. They were all released
on recognizance bonds and are scheduled to appear in court on March 11.

Colorado burglar busted after using Uber as getaway car for $8K plumbing tool heist
A Colorado crook carrying thousands of dollars
of stolen merchandise walked right into the police’s hands after he was caught trying to use an Uber as a getaway car, cops
said.
The bungling burglar was ransacking a plumbing store in the Denver suburbs
last week when he called the rideshare driver to pick him up.
The store owner had called 911 after noticing a hole cut in the business’ fencing and caught surveillance footage of the thief inside.
When the local Wheat Ridge police arrived on the scene, they discovered the
Uber driver waiting nearby.
He told cops his passenger “Jose” was headed right toward the car.“Are you
looking for an Uber?” an officer can be heard asking the suspect in bodycam
footage shared by the department.
The man — wearing the hood of his black sweatshirt up and a pulled-down
balaclava — shoots his gaze sideways and hides his hands inside his pockets.“Uh — no,” he stammers. He then gives the officers the fake name “Raul” as
he takes several steps backward and away from the cops.
He was immediately grabbed by officers, but assures them he is not trying to
make a break for it.Jose doubles down on his innocence and claims he is simply
on his way to his mother’s house.
When told he matches the description of the thief, he maintains he is not the
man they are looking for, despite not carrying identification to prove he is “Raul.”
The contents of his backpack, however, exposed the thin charade.“This backpack is full of Milwaukee tools,” one officer can be heard saying while rifling
through the loot.
Inside, cops found more than $8,600 worth of electric tools.
He was taken into custody, where fingerprint scanners confirmed his real identity.“It may not be the best idea to have an Uber pick you up AT the crime scene,”
Wheat Ridge Police said on social media.
A 26-year-old man by the name of Jose was booked the following day on a
plethora of charges, including theft of more than $2,000, criminal trespassing
and false reporting to authorities, court records show.
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

On January 17th, OBN shut down a commercial
marijuana growing facility (Farm 51, LLC) in Mannford for operating without a legal registration.
OBN Agents seized 498 plants and 285 pounds
of processed marijuana.
“Since 2021, OBN has shut down more than
2,500 marijuana grows, arrested over 250 individuals and seized over 850,000 pounds of marijuana as part of criminal investigations for operating
with a license obtained by fraud and/or growing for the out-of-state black market,” said OBN Director Donnie Anderson
As a result of these OBN enforcement efforts, Director Anderson says Oklahoma’s medical marijuana program has seen a drastic reduction in the number of
criminal organizations operating illegal farms in Oklahoma. OBN Registrations
for growers dropped from 9,400 in 2021, to 6,400 in 2022, and today that number is down to approximately 3,200.
Anyone with information about criminal drug activity can anonymously DM
details to OBN via Facebook or call the OBN Tip-line at 1-800-522-8031.

WEED AND SPEED
A 49-year-old man from Midwest City was allegedly
caught with 80 pounds of marijuana and a lot of cash during
a traffic stop on January 17.
According to the affidavit, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol
state trooper was on patrol when he saw a white SUV speed
past going 80 mph in a 75 mph zone at mile marker 159 on
I-44. The SUV was traveling in the left lane. The trooper followed the vehicle. The driver slowed down to 69 mph, then
made a sudden lane change in front of a semi truck.
The trooper stopped the SUV at mile marker 154. The
driver was identified as Kaiming Chen.
The trooper noticed some black trash bags in the backseat that were covered by a blanket. He also noticed strong smells of cologne, cigarette smoke,
and air fresheners. Some air fresheners were lying open on the passenger seat.
The trooper asked Chen to step out of the vehicle. He then asked permission to search his
person. Chen agreed, and the trooper found some cash in his front right coat pocket.
While speaking with the man, the trooper saw Chen exit out of a GPS app on his phone. Chen
told the trooper that he was coming from an unknown location on a marijuana farm and headed
to Oklahoma City. He said the cash in his pocket was for decorating.
The trooper asked to search the SUV. Chen said no.
A Wellston officer and his K9 arrived on scene to assist. The dog alerted to the presence of
drugs. The trooper searched the vehicle and discovered that some trash bags in the trunk and
the trash bags in the backseat were full of vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana. The marijuana
weighed about 80 pounds. The cash in the man’s coat totaled $6,062.
The trooper placed the man under arrest and transported him to jail.
Chen is being charged with trafficking in illegal drugs. His bond was set at $75,000, and he is
scheduled to appear in court on March 21, 2024.

FAT FINGERS LEAD
TO EMBEZZLEMENT
CHARGE
A 41-year-old woman who worked as a payroll clerk for Guthrie Public Schools is facing an
embezzlement charge after a routine audit caught
her allegedly committing the crime.
Formal charges were filed against the suspect
on January 24.
According to reports, GPD conducted an internal audit in November 2023.
During the audit, school officials discovered that Linda Sue Campbell, who
worked for the district for two years, had been paid around $8,300 more than
she was supposed to be paid.
While investigating further, officials also found that she had been putting extra
money into her monthly paycheck. There were discrepancies in Campbell’s pay
starting in December 2022 through October 2023. Most of the deposits totaled
$640.28 each month. In October, an extra $4,481.96 was deposited in Campbell’s account.
Campbell initially said that the extra deposits were just errors she had made by
“fat fingering” the keyboard. However, she allegedly admitted to school officials
that she had embezzled the money because her family was going through a
hard time. She resigned from her position on November 15.
Campbell is being charged with embezzlement. Her bond was set at $7,500,
and she is scheduled to appear in court on February 15, 2024.
