Amateur criminal and professional dumb dumb Christopher Kron made every mistake possible in robbery history when he tried to rob a restaurant after it closed one
night. Not only did he trip the silent alarm, but when ADT called the restaurant after
being notified, Kron answered the phone and gave them his REAL NAME. He returned
to the restaurant the next day and was recognized by an employee who had seen the
surveillance video. Kron was arrested on the spot.
A man in Stockholm, Sweden was a bit upset when the 13-year-old girl he’d been
courting didn’t show up for an arranged sex meeting. When the teen stood him up, the
man found her home phone number and called her father to demand a refund. Obviously things didn’t end well.
Polish author Krystian Bala, might’ve gotten away with murder… if he hadn’t written
about it in his book. His 2003 novel Amok became a bestseller in Poland, but he paid
the price when police noticed that the details of a murder in the book eerily matched
those of an unsolved case.
The similarities led the police to investigate further, discovering connections between
Bala and the victim, including the fact that the victim was romantically involved with
Bala’s ex-wife. Whether or not he was inspired by the OJ Simpson “novel” based on a
similar subject is unknown. What is known that he received 25 years in prison.
Let it be known that you can now be arrested for ballin’ on a budget. William Anderson, 51, was arrested after attracting attention by applying for welfare while driving an
H2 Hummer. Thinking it an odd sight, the local sheriff ran the plates, and the vehicle
came up as stolen.

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty PAYNE COUNTY 5 | JANUARY 2021
when a bad decision
changes so many lives
The driver of a pickup that struck and killed a
Cushing businessman has been charged with
first-degree manslaughter.
According to court documents, on the morning of Sept. 28, 2020, 37-year-old Christopher
Clint Collier is accused of driving a 2003 Chevrolet three-quarter-ton pickup under the influence of prescription drugs and fatally striking
Curtis Sams in front of his body shop at 204 E
Main, in Cushing.
According to police, Collier was driving in the
inside eastbound lane of Main Street in Cushing when he crossed over the center stripe of
the road to the left, crossed both westbound
lanes, went over the curb and onto the area north of the road. The pickup
passed through the driveway area of Curtis Sams Body Shop where Sams
was cleaning the driveway with a leaf blower.
After striking Sams, Collier’s pickup continued into the Shamrock Service Station, hit two traffic signs, then reentered the westbound lanes before coming to a stop on an elevated curb island.
Police say that a toxicology test showed the presence of Prozac, Flexeril, Ambien and Xanax in Collier’s blood.
According to court records, on the day of the accident, Collier told police
that he remembered hitting something that jarred him and his pickup and
realized that he was off the road and unsuccessfully tried to stop his truck.
He admitted that he knew he had struck a person while he was trying to
gain control of his truck and said that he must have been hitting the accelerator instead of the brake.
Collier also admitted to police that the night before the accident, he had
taken a dose of Xanax, Flexeril and Ambien and drank a small bottle of Oilfire brand whiskey and went to bed at around midnight. When he awoke,
he said that he had taken a dose of Prozac and Nuvigil, a prescription drug
that reduces sleepiness.
In an interview with police two days later, Collier said that he did not have
much memory of the accident, but remembered dropping his daughter off
at school. He said that one the way back “…something happened. I don’t
know what happened.” In that interview he told police that he had not had
anything to drink, nor had he taken any medication that morning. He also
said that he had not had anything to drink the night before.
Cushing Police Detective Jerrod Livergood said in the affidavit that he
felt, “probable cause exists that Collier was driving a Chevrolet pickup
upon a public roadway while impaired by prescription drugs. Further, Collier failed to remain in his lane, crossed the marked center line, travelled off
the roadway where he struck and killed Curtis Sams.”
Collier is currently free on a $75,000 cash bond and is set to appear for
a preliminary hearing on Jan. 4. In front of Payne County District Judge
Phillip C. Corley.

AROUND THE STATE
ARREST MADE IN OSBI ICAC UNIT INVESTIGATION
McALESTER, Okla. – After receiving a tip
from the National Center for Missing and
Exploited Children (NCMECC), agents from
the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) Internet Crimes Against Children
(ICAC) Unit secured an arrest warrant for
33-year-old Stephen Newman. Newman was
arrested by the McAlester Police Department
on November 20, 2020 on one charge of Procuring Obscene Material, which is a felony.
The case originated when the OSBI received a cyber tip from NCMEC that originated with the Idaho ICAC Task Force and
involved online chats between Newman and an underage female in Idaho.
Law enforcement in Idaho secured a search warrant for the email account associated with the cybertip. The IP address checked back to a residence in the
700 block of S. Saddler in Poteau, Okla. Newman was a listed as a resident
of that address.
During the course of the OSBI investigation, a search warrant was secured
for all electronic devices in the home. Based on the evidence obtained and
analyzed by agents, an arrest warrant was issued for Newman on November
10, 2020, who was believed to be in the McAlester area. Officers with the
McAlester Police Department arrested Newman at a residence in the 500
block of E. Polk in McAlester. He was taken to the Pittsburg County Jail on a
$100,000 bond.
The OSBI investigation is ongoing. If you have a child that you believe had
an inappropriate experience with Newman, contact the OSBI at (800) 522-

Bristow Man Pleads Guilty to
Assaulting his Domestic Partner
A Bristow man pleaded guilty in federal
court on December 21 to assault resulting in
substantial bodily injury to a spouse, intimate
partner, or dating partner in Indian Country,
announced U.S. Attorney Trent Shores.
Bobby Brian Thompson, 29, pleaded guilty
before U.S. District Judge John F. Heil.
“Bobby Thompson beat his domestic partner with his fists before strangling her. Tragically, experience tells us that domestic abuse
often begins with verbal threats and then
escalates to extreme violence, such as this.
I view domestic violence prosecution as homicide prevention,” said U.S. Attorney Trent
Shores. “The investigators and victim advocates at the Bristow Police Department and FBI worked together to both
bring this domestic abuser to justice and provide support to the victim.”
In his plea agreement, Thompson admitted that on or about June 11, 2020,
in Bristow, he assaulted his dating partner. Specifically, he admitted to striking the victim with his fists and strangling her. The victim suffered substantial
bodily injury as a result of his assault upon her. Thompson further stated in his
plea that he is a member of the Cherokee Nation.
Thompson’s sentencing is set for March 22, 2021.
The FBI and Bristow Police Department conducted the investigation.

guns! Guns! and more guns!
Luther man Willie Lyle Cowan, 34, allegedly
broke into a residence and stole several
guns earlier last month.
According to the affidavit, on December 1, a
man told police his backdoor had been pried
open and some guns were missing. The man
also said that he had a trail camera that caught
an image of a man walking toward his house.
An investigator looked at the photo and noticed the suspect was wearing gloves, even
though it was warm that day.
The next day, the officer spoke with a man
who identified the suspect as Cowan. Another
man also identified the man in the picture as Cowan. The man also said
he saw several long rifles in the back of Cowan’s truck. He told the officer
Cowan lived with his mother.
The officer went to the residence and asked Cowan’s mother if he was
home. She said she didn’t know, but she gave the deputy permission to
search the residence.
In the man’s room, police found a rifle that had been reported stolen
on October 12. The woman said she thought the gun was an older gun
that belonged to them. She also said every time she asked Cowan about
something, he would tell her it was none of her business.
Police also found a hat that matched the one the suspect was wearing
in the picture from the trail camera.
The investigator and the woman tried to call Cowan, but he didn’t answer.
Cowan called the officer on December 2 and said he wanted to explain
the rifle in his room. He met with the officer and said he got the rifle from a
man who was a suspect in another burglary.
Cowan admitted that he shouldn’t have the gun since he was a felon,
but he said he had it for his protection.
The officer showed Cowan a picture of the burglary suspect; the man
denied that it was him. He also lied about being at the casino.
Cowan continued to deny stealing the guns. When the officer searched
the man, he found $2,451.88 in cash in the man’s pockets. Cowan said he
got the money from the bank since he knew he was going to jail.
Cowan had a pattern of pawning stolen items for cash.
Cowan is being charged with burglary in the second degree. His bond
was set at $8,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on January 7,
2021.

27-year-old Crescent woman Kacee Jeannelle Vaughn allegedly entered a residence
without being invited inside and took some
keys on December 3.
According to the police report, a Crescent
officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of
W. Washington at approximately 5:38 p.m. to
investigate the burglary of an occupied residence. Dispatch advised that the suspect left
the residence wearing a green jacket.
On the way to the residence, the officer
was advised that the suspect was hiding under a vehicle of a nearby residence. When he
arrived, a witness told him the suspect had
taken off running toward another residence.
The officer went to the residence and saw Vaughn wearing a green jacket
and lying in a reclining chair in the front yard. Two officers approached the
woman and took control of both of her arms.
The officer told her to put her hands behind her back. Vaughn resisted and
struggled against the officers. They were eventually able to place the woman
in handcuffs. In her jacket pockets, they found two keys.
The officer spoke with the reporting party, who said she was in the living
room with her daughter when she heard the back door open. When she
heard movement inside the residence, she called out, but no one answered
her. The woman looked outside and saw a woman wearing a green jacket
leave her property. She told police she was missing keys to her house and
vehicle along with other keys.
Vaughn is being charged with burglary in the first degree. Her bond was
set at $7,500, and she is scheduled to appear in court on January 28, 2020.

how low can you go?
A 39-year-old Ponca City woman could be
facing 10 years in prison after she allegedly
scammed a person out of hundreds of dollars
by taking advantage of the global pandemic.
Christi Dianna Rhodd was charged November 5 with unlawful use of computer to
defraud, in Kay County District Court. She
was booked into the Kay County Detention
Center as Christi Brown on December 16.
According to online court information,
Rhodd allegedly on or about the 31st day of
August, 2020, used a computer to devise
a scheme on Facebook promising aid during the COVID-19 pandemic and fraudulently took $300 from the victim as part of that
scheme “with the intent by means of a false or fraudulent representation.”
Reports state Rhodd also told the victim the “donation” would yield a greater return through Bitcoin in the future.
The victim became suspicious after Rhodd demanded more money.
The victim checked Facebook and found several profiles for Rhodd – one of
the profiles was the same one that sent him the messages. Rhodd had also
sent the victim a photo of her driver’s license. The driver’s license showed her
name as Christi Dianne Brown. Police confirmed that Rhodd was an alias the
woman used.
Rhodd is being charged with unlawful use of computer to defraud. A warrant was issued for her arrest in the amount of $10,000, and she is scheduled
to appear in court on January 22, 2021.

A Bartlesville man is facing multiple felony
charges after his girlfriend caught him having sex
with her teenage daughter.
Johnny Carlos Castro, 32, is being charged with
rape in the second degree and lewd or indecent
acts to child under 16.
According to reports, a woman told police that
she caught her boyfriend having sex with her
14-year-old daughter. She told police that she
suspected that her live-in boyfriend was having
an inappropriate relationship with her teen daughter. She said she installed a hidden camera in the
victim’s bedroom. When she logged on to view a
live stream of the camera, she saw the victim and
Castro lying in bed.
A blanket was on top of Castro and the victim. The woman believed they
were having sex. She turned the video over to police for evidence.
While being interviewed by police, Castro never admitted to having sex
with the minor.
Castro’s bond was set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on January 8, 2021.

Poor Chastity Eugina Hopson was so worried about her possibly-tainted meth that
she actually contacted the police about it. Officers at the Granite Shoals Police Department in Texas were trying to catch the county’s dumbest drug users when they posted
a fake Facebook story about Ebola-tainted meth. The post said, “If you have recently
purchased meth or heroin in Central Texas, please take it to the local police or sheriff
department so it can be screened with a special device. DO NOT use it until it has been
properly checked for possible Ebola contamination!””
Hopson, 29, saw the post and was understandably afraid that her meth could be...
wait for it... dangerous. She responded to the department’s post on Facebook, and
they gladly took her sample in for “testing.” Hobson was charged with possession of
less than one gram of a controlled substance.
18 year old Ruben Zarate wanted to rob a muffler shop in Chicago and demanded
money. Unfortunately it was mostly in the safe. Zarate decided that he would try again
later. To save himself some time, he left his cell phone number with the store employees. That way, they could call him when the manager returned.
Demetrius Robinson, 28, wanted to rob a Golden Pantry store late one night, but he
needed to pass the time as naturally as possible until he and the clerk were alone, so
he decided to fill out a job application. Not a bad idea, except he left his real name on
the application, along with his uncle’s phone number. After he robbed the store, it didn’t
take long for police to track him down. He didn’t get the job.
Before breaking into an apartment, Joey Miller and Matthew McNelly decided to put
on disguises. And by disguises we mean they covered their faces in permanent marker.
The thing about permanent marker is that... well it’s permanent.
After the burglary, the pair was pulled over by police and immediately recognized
because of their hair. Just kidding, it was their faces covered in permanent marker that
set them apart from the crowd.
A Kentucky woman was arrested after authorities caught her trying to shoplift merchandise while her son took part in a “Shop with a Cop” event. She was charged with
theft of less than $500 and not understanding irony.
Eoise Reaves stretched the limits of “to serve and protect” when she approached
a policeman and asked him to help her get her money back for the poor-quality crack
cocaine she’d just purchased. She showed him the crack, which she had tucked away
in her mouth, and he placed her under arrest. How does one know when crack has
gone bad?
Things were looking up for Frank Singleton when he was released from jail. However,
when he realized that he didn’t have a ride home, he walked straight into the prison
parking lot and attempted to carjack a woman. He was foiled when he realized that
he couldn’t drive a car with a stick shift. As he was re-arrested - this time, for felony
carjacking - Singleton told police that he simply “didn’t feel like walking.” We’ve all been
there.
A West Palm Beach, FL man was arrested on a slew of charges, and was perhaps
a bit too honest on his arrest report. He listed his occupation as “drug dealer” and was
charged with being the most obvious criminal in the history of crime.
A police impersonator in Dumfries, VA tried to pull over an off-duty officer, when the
real cop informed the fake cop that he was a real cop (this is getting confusing) the fake
cop ran away but was quickly apprehended and hauled off to a very real prison.
Charles Ray Fuller, a Texas dumb dumb, tried to cash a bogus check for $360 BILLION. To top it off, the check wasn’t even made out to him. He was arrested on forgery
charges and sentenced to a million billion years in prison.
Two men arrested in Houston were accused of stealing an iPad and using it to take
selfies that they unknowingly uploaded to the owner’s iCloud account. The men appeared in the photos displaying money they were also accused of taking from the
victim. At least they didn’t have to listen to that new U2 album!
The dumbest policeman in the world, who was making some extra cash with drugs
and prostitution, was brought to justice after driving a $170,000 Ferrari to work. Osman
Iqbal, an officer based in Birmingham England, was jailed for seven years for running
a brothel.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

PUBLIC INTOXICATION
Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty PAWNEE COUNTY 23 | JANUARY 2021
