Police say a Cushing man was taken to jail after he became violent toward firemen when they attempted to help
him extinguish a dumpster fire.
On Feb. 13, Cushing police received a 911 call about a
dumpster fire about two blocks north of Main Street on
Depot Avenue, the affidavit states.
When an officer arrived at the location, he observed a
dumpster on fire in front of a residence in the 600 block
of N. Depot.
A man the officer recognized as Randy Todd Gordon,
55, was kneeling down on the ground near the dumpster
with a water hose.
Gordon walked over to the officer’s car and told him
that he was trying to put the fire out with the water hose.
When Gordon heard the sirens of the Cushing Fire Department, however, he became angry with the officer.
The officer explained that he wasn’t the one that called
the fire department, but someone had called in the dumpster fire.
Gordon became upset and told the officer he wasn’t going to let the “mother f------“ put out
his fire, and he could take care of it himself.
While speaking with Gordon, the officer could smell the strong odor of alcohol on his breath
and person.
When the fire department arrived, Gordon refused to let them get near the dumpster and
physically blocked it so they couldn’t extinguish the fire.
Gordon was cussing and told the fire department personnel that they were not going to put
his fire out. He then allegedly pushed one of the firemen.
The officer and fire department personnel were able to physically remove Gordon so the
fire department could put out the fire. However, Gordon continued to yell, cuss and be aggressive toward the officer and fire department personnel.
Gordon is being charged with assault and battery upon a peace officer. He was released on
a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 11, 2014.
I’ll put out
my own fire!

A Stillwater man was arrested on Feb. 9, after he admitted
to police that he had weed in both of his socks.
According to the affidavit, a Stillwater police officer was on
patrol in the 100 block of E. Miller when he observed a vehicle
that appeared to have a tag light that was burnt out.
The officer turned on his lights and conducted a traffic stop
in the 800 block of E. Virginia.
The officer made contact with the driver, who appeared to
be extremely nervous and was visibly shaking. There were two
other passengers in the car, one of them identified as Luke
Wayne Wittman, 21.
When the officer asked the driver where they were coming
from, she seemed very hesitant to answer and told him, "I was
just picking them up."
Due to her behavior, the officer asked the driver to exit the
vehicle to talk to him. He asked her why she was so nervous; she replied that she was just
scared.
He asked her if there was anything illegal in her car. She said there was nothing illegal to
her knowledge. The officer asked her if she was being honest; she began to tear up and told
the officer that Wittman might have marijuana on his person.
She granted the officer permission to search her car, and the officer asked the other passengers to exit the vehicle.
The officer asked Wittman for permission to pat him down to ensure he didn't have any
weapons or illegal items on his person.
Wittman said he didn't mind, and while searching his person, the officer smelled a faint
odor of marijuana.
He asked Wittman where the marijuana was. Wittman told him it was in his right sock. The
officer removed a sandwich-sized baggie from Wittman's sock that contained a green leafy
substance that later field-tested positive for marijuana.
Wittman then told the officer, "I have another bag in my left sock."
The officer retrieved the other baggie and placed Wittman in handcuffs.
Wittman is being charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. He was released on a
$2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 12, 2014.

Kenneth Eugene Hogan
Kenneth Eugene Hogan, 52, was pronounced
dead at 6:13 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2014, after he
received a lethal injection at the Oklahoma
State Penitentiary in McAlester.
On the morning of Jan. 28, 1998, Lisa
Stanley was at home after her husband
George Stanley left for work. Hogan met Lisa
in church and she often babysat for Hogan
and his wife. Hogan arrived at Lisa’s house
around noon. Hogan and Lisa began to argue,
and Hogan stabbed her 25 times with a large knife, cutting his
hand in the process. After the stabbing, Hogan remained in the
apartment and arranged things to look as if someone else had been
fi ghting with Lisa and burned the evidence containing his blood.
After initially avoiding detectives, Hogan confessed a week later
during an interview with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
He confessed after being advised his wife had told police that
Hogan had asked her to lie about his whereabouts on the day of
the murder. According to detectives, the defendant showed no
remorse.
Prior to this case, Hogan committed lewd molestation of a minor
and various burglaries. He also enlisted a minor to sell marijuana
and threatened coworkers and their families.
Hogan was initially convicted and sentenced to death in 1988.
After successful federal appeals, Hogan was retried and again
sentenced to death in 2003.
“Kenneth Eugene Hogan was sentenced to death by a jury of his
peers for the heinous stabbing of Lisa Renee Stanley, who was
a young wife and a promising student,” Attorney General Scott
Pruitt said. “My thoughts and prayers are with Lisa’s family and
friends.”

The Bible clearly teaches that
Christians are not to worry.
In Philippians 4:6, we are
commanded, “Do not be anxious
[do not worry] about anything,
but in everything, by prayer
and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.” In
this Scripture, we learn that we
should bring all of our needs and
concerns to God in prayer rather
than worry about them. Jesus
encourages us to avoid worrying
about our physical needs like
clothing and food. Jesus assures us
that our heavenly Father will take
care of all our needs (Matthew 6:25-34). Therefore, we have no need
to worry about anything.
Since worrying should not be a part of a believer’s life, how does
one overcome worry? In 1 Peter 5:7, we are instructed to “cast all
your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” God does not want us
to carry around the weight of problems and burdens. In this verse,
God is telling us to give Him all of our worries and concerns. Why
does God want to take on our problems? The Bible says it is because
He cares for us. God is concerned about everything that happens
to us. No worry is too big or too small for His attention. When we
give God our problems, He promises to give us the peace which
transcends all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Of course, for those who do not know the Savior, worry and
anxiety will be part of life. But to those who have given their lives
to Him, Jesus promised, “Come to me, all you who are weary and
burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn
from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest
for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew
11:28-30).

MEAN and Violent... And would not remember any of it the next day… People react to different stuff differently… He might
not even remember it, which is no excuse,
because he made the choice to drink.
Ashley P: What kinda drugs is he on?
No remorse. Even a smile. Mentally ill or
super high. Either way, I bet he has shown
signs of this before. Lets stop giving repeat
drug offenders all the chances in the world.
Mmmkaaaay?
Eddy C: He was Drunk.
Melanie P: And possibly a knife..
Michael B: get a rope and a tall
tree, its a lot cheaper than prison
Heather W: *riding
Lesley A: Death penalty!!
Jay T: SKATE OR DIE!!
Flo C: no remorse on his face
Jaslyn H: SHAME on you, grow the
hell up, you’re an adult not a child.
Phyillis P: Death penalty. We need to
get tough with creeps like this
Lanie G: He could have been defending his sister from a freak . Case if I killed
saving my sis I’d be smiling my way to hell.
(:
Rusty A: Doubt he was defending her
since it says he stabbed her in the stomach…
Scott F: Reading comprehension is
key here, Lanie. The guy attacked his sister and murdered another, and needs to be
dealt with appropriately.
Deborah J: Who stab the sister?....
Castro or Mendoza???
Will T: read what it said. it was his
brother in law he killed and he stabbed his
sister..!!
Andrea G: Yeah he won’t be smiling
once the booze and drugs wear off. Dumb
ass
Jerry M: A lot of people have been
drunk and dont kill people. Its no excuse.
Johnny P: That’s easy to say until its
u lol
Megan N: You’re kidding, right?
Travis N: Probley protecting his
sis, none of u was there to say, besides men
tend to beat woman often
Police said they have one man behind bars after they found
a man dead in the street, beaten with a baseball bat and a
skateboard.
Tulsa police arrested 28-year-old Pedro Castro after they
said he left his brother-in-law dead in the driveway.
Authorities said they believe Castro murdered 34-year-old
Juan Mendoza with a skateboard, baseball bat and possibly
a knife.
Tulsa authorities said they arrested Castro about 10 minutes after they arrived when they found him ridding the same skateboard allegedly used in the fight.
Police said the altercation started as an argument between Castro and his
sister.
Officers said he stabbed her in the stomach and hand.
Alcohol may have fueled this altercation; police said Castro was intoxicated.

FAILURE TO REGISter AS SEX
OFFENDER
A Bristow man was taken to jail Feb.
10, after he literally tried to make like a
bandit by wearing Wal-Mart items out of
the store without paying.
According to the affidavit, a Bristow
police officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to a possible larceny.
When he arrived, he made contact with
an employee who told them she noticed
a male subject identified as 26-year-old
Marlon James Roberts walking around
the store with a bag of deli meat hanging
out of his hoodie pocket.
She said Roberts then walked over to
the men's department, selected a pair of shorts and rolled them up
and placed them in his pants.
From there, Roberts allegedly went to the shoe aisle, selected a pair
of brown shoes and placed them on his feet.
The employee told the officer she followed Roberts out of the store
and confronted him.
She said he admitted he had the stolen merchandise and agreed to
follow her back into the store.
The officer spoke with Roberts, who admitted to the officer that he
was going to take the items from the store. When the officer placed
Roberts under arrest, he asked him if he had anything illegal on his
person.
Roberts told him he had some marijuana in his right pants pockets.
The officer found a container with a green leafy substance, a smoking
pipe with a burnt green leafy substance inside and a plastic wrapper
containing a green leafy substance.
The green leafy substance tested positive for marijuana.
Roberts is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous
substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and larceny of
merchandise from retailer. He was released on a $1,500 bond and is
scheduled to appear in court on March 21, 2014.
Attention, Wal-Mart
shoplifter…

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

A crazy-driving Warr Acres woman was taken to jail when an
officer found drugs and paraphernalia in her SUV.
According to the affidavit, a Logan County deputy was on
patrol Feb. 24, when he responded to a call about a reckless
driver traveling northbound on Highway 74 and Highway 33.
The reporting party said the driver was stopped at a gas station
of Highway 74 and Cooksey Road.
When the deputy arrived, he saw a vehicle that matched the
description of the reckless driver’s SUV.
He pulled behind the vehicle and activated his emergency
lights.
While giving dispatch the tag information, the deputy saw
the driver, later identified as Christy Roseann Dixon-Doyle,
33, turn around and look at him before placing the vehicle into
drive and pulling forward.
The deputy activated his siren and Dixon-Doyle brought the vehicle to a stop.
The deputy asked Dixon-Doyle to step out of the vehicle so she couldn’t attempt to leave.
While speaking with her, the deputy noticed that she had glassy bloodshot eyes. Several
times during their conversation, she tried to get back into her vehicle to get a cigarette. When
the officer told her no, she would reply, “I forgot.”
Dixon-Doyle was speaking very quickly and kept slurring her words together. The deputy
asked her if she would do some sobriety tests. She told him, “I haven’t been drinking.”
The deputy told her that he understood, but he would still like her to take the tests. DixonDoyle agreed.
She may not have been drinking, but after her poor performance on the sobriety tests, it
was apparent to the officer that Dixon-Doyle had been doing something.
He placed her under arrest.
While inventorying her vehicle, the deputy found a pipe with a white crystalline substance,
three baggies containing a white crystal substance, lighters, flashlights, a scale, more baggies, and a bottle and a dropper containing a clear liquid. The white substance field-tested
positive for meth.
Dixon-Doyle is being charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to
distribute, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance and
unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $8,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on April 14, 2014.

Pruitt Convenes Oklahoma’s First
Human Trafficking Task Force
Oklahoma Attorney General
Scott Pruitt convened the state’s
first law enforcement task force to
combat human trafficking in Oklahoma.
The Human Trafficking Intelligence Working Group provides
a forum for local, state and federal law enforcement officers to share
information and collaborate in the investigation and prosecution of human traffickers.
“What citizens want to see is action. They want to see us work together
to do something about a very pervasive issue,” General Pruitt said. “The
reality is human trafficking isn’t just a problem in foreign lands; it’s a
real and dangerous threat in Oklahoma. I appreciate the agencies who
have committed to being a part of the working group and thank them for
their efforts to investigate and prosecute those who would deprive others of their freedom. By working together, we can set a great example for
other law enforcement groups across the nation, and help combat this
despicable crime.”
The task force includes more than 30 law enforcement agencies, including the AG’s Office, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control, the FBI, Oklahoma City Police, Tulsa Police, the
Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation,
Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, tribal law enforcement and the U.S. Attorneys Office.
General Pruitt assembled the group after discussions with officers
around the state and through consultation with the AG’s Multicounty
Grand Jury Unit.
“We’re here to determine, ‘What’s the problem, how do we attack it
and what’s our approach.’ We are going to use everything we can to combat this. It’s too important not to,” OBN Director Darrell Weaver said.
Human trafficking involves sex trafficking and labor trafficking. It is
estimated that more than 14,000 people are victims of human trafficking
in the United States each year.
If you are a victim of human trafficking or know of someone who may
be a victim, call the Safeline at 1-800-522-SAFE (7233).

A Wellston man was put behind bars
after he became verbally and physically
abusive toward police officers and called
them crackheads.
According to the police report,
Wellston police officers were dispatched
to investigate reports of a domestic dispute at a residence in the 700 block of
Dogwood on Feb. 8.
When they arrived, a male at the residence, Richard Todd Baker, 35, became
very loud and started using profane language toward them.
It was apparent to police that Baker
was extremely intoxicated.
While an officer spoke with the other party involved with the domestic dispute, another officer attempted to calm down Baker, but
he was unsuccessful.
Baker steadily became more agitated and aggressive toward the
officers. He called them "crackheads" and used some choice 4-letter
words while telling them to get out of his house.
He stepped toward an officer with clenched fists as though he was
going to strike the officer.
The officer pushed Baker down on the couch until the man relaxed.
This didn't last long, however, and Baker once again became belligerent and verbally abusive toward police.
The officer placed Baker under arrest. Due to training that he had
participated in, the officer's backseat was full of equipment, so he
placed Baker in the front seat and began the journey to jail. During
the drive, Baker leaned closely to the officer and yelled at him.
The officer was able to get him to calm down, but once at the jail,
Baker became verbally hostile to jail staff, using vulgar and offensive
language. He was booked into jail without any physical incidents.
Baker is being charged with assault on a police officer. He was released on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on
Feb. 24, 2014.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol
Lately I’ve noticed that a lot
of the motoring public is having
trouble properly signaling for, and making turns. I’ve also noticed,
that when people do properly signal and make turns, a lot of others
who are in a hurry, seem to not pay attention to those signals or
turns, resulting in a lot of near-hits and actual accidents...some
with very tragic consequences. Today I’m going to talk about how
to properly signal, prepare for and execute turns on the roadway,
as well some common sense for those drivers who are in too much
of a hurry to slow down for those turning.
First, lets address state law on signaling. Oklahoma State
Statutes Title 47-11-601 and 11-604 outline the requirements for
turning movements and required signals, but the short version is
this. When turning left you must position yourself as close to the
left side of the furthest left lane of travel in your direction, and must
turn to the closest lane to you. Don’t cut the corner! When turning
right, you must position yourself as close to the right hand curb or
edge of the roadway, and also turn to the closest lane to you!
Now that we know the proper positions, lets talk about those
signals. A signal to turn right or left is required to be given
continuously for not less than the last 100 feet traveled by the
vehicle before turning. Furthermore, no person shall stop or
suddenly decrease speed without FIRST giving an appropriate
signal! How many times have you seen a vehicle slow down in
front of you for a long way, and then turn on the blinker just as they
start their turn? How many times have you done it?
Lastly, lets talk about other driver’s requirements after a
vehicle has done everything proper in preparing and signaling
for a turn. The last part of 47-11-604 says that when any person
is properly preparing for, attempting or executing a left turn, no
other person immediately following such vehicle shall pass or
attempt to pass the turning vehicle to the left. Such person shall
come to a complete stop if necessary at a safe distance behind that
person turning. Also, it is unlawful to pass this turning vehicle on
the shoulder to the right as well.
So if you are coming up on a vehicle that is slowing, ask yourself,
why are they slowing or stopping? Is someone in front of them
turning? Is something going on that I would need to reduce speed
for as well? This is what a safe and courteous driver would do, but
all to often, people zip out to pass those slowed vehicles, and end
up having a vehicle turn right in front of them, with disastrous
results! Please, use your blinkers properly, make proper turns,
and don’t be in such a hurry! Thanks for reading, buckle up, and
be safe!
