A Stillwater man fresh out of jail and
a little too happy to see his girlfriend
didn't get to enjoy his freedom for too
long after police found illegal items he
had buried in a park on April 19.
According to the affidavit, Stillwater
police were informed that there was a
man and woman who had been heavily
kissing at Berry Park for two hours.
The reporting party also told police
he saw the man bury something under
the swing set.
When the officer arrived, he approached the couple and recognized
the man as 20-year-old Myron Ian
Dent.
Dent told the officer that he had just got out of jail several days earlier and it was the first time he was able to kiss his girlfriend.
The officer asked Dent if he had buried anything under the swing
set.
Dent said no, but the officer made him walk to the swing set to look.
As they were walking, the officer asked Dent what he was going
to find. Dent told him that there was a pipe and "a little marijuana"
buried underneath the swings.
The officer located a vitamin bottle and a pipe; the bottle had a
green leafy substance in it.
Dent admitted that the items belonged to him.
He may have been happy to kiss his girlfriend, but now he's going
to have to wait a lot longer to lock lips with his lover.
Dent is being charged with unlawful possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of school and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in lieu of a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to
appear in court on May 5, 2014.

Blue sparkly powder led to the arrest of a Cushing woman on
April 19, after she left some sparkles at the scene of a crime.
Cushing police were called to a residence in the 300 block of S.
East Street in reference to a burglary investigation, the affidavit
states.
The homeowner told them that he had secured his residence
when he left the night before, but when he returned, he noticed
things were moved around the residence and he was missing
property.
He told the officer he found some of his property in a bag in
the backyard.
A witness told an officer that she had seen a female leave the
residence shortly before the homeowner arrived.
An officer located a woman matching the suspect's description
not far from the residence. She identified herself as Stephanie Renee Flint, 37.
The officer searched her backpack and found clothing and a tomahawk with a smoking pipe
attached.
She admitted to being at the residence but told police that her sister lives there.
The officer took Flint back to the residence; once there, she denied entering the residence
or stealing anything.
While an officer was speaking to Flint, he noticed a blue sparkling powder on her hairline.
He noticed that it matched a blue sparkling powder in the bathtub.
When he asked her about the powder, she told him that she was homeless and needed to
use the bathroom and shower.
She added that it was her sister's residence and all she did was shower and use the bathroom.
The homeowner positively identified the tomahawk as it. Flint said it was the only thing she
had taken, until the homeowner positively identified other items that were in her backpack
as is.
She didn't deny the presence of the items, and told the arresting officer, "It's all theirs —
they can have it."
Flint is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property. She is being held in lieu
of a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 5, 2014.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol
As the weather starts to warm
up, recreational thoughts naturally
turn to the wonderful lakes
and other waterways in the state of Oklahoma. Along with the
increase of activity in and around the water, comes the potential
for drownings or near drownings, most of which can be prevented
with the use of Personal Floatation Devices. I’ve talked about them
before, but a refresher never hurts, so here goes!
First, let me just say that there are 5 types of PFDs. I’m not
going to get into their descriptions, just which types are required
for what situation. All PFDs must be U.S. Coast Guard approved,
and used in accordance with their label. The label will also state
the type. All vessels must carry one wearable (Type I, II, III,
or V) USCG approved PFD for each person on board or being
towed. In addition to that, vessels 16 feet in length or longer
must have one Type IV USCG approved PFD on board and readily
accessible. Oklahoma Law requires that all children under 13 years
of age wear an approved PFD whenever underway in a vessel less
than 26 feet in length. Each person on a personal watercraft or
sailboard must wear an approved PFD. Anyone being towed on
water skis or similar devices must wear an approved PFD. Ski belts
are not approved PFDs.
Now, besides being USCG approved, all PFDs must be: In good
serviceable condition. They must also be readily accessible. Readily
accessible means you must be able to put the PFD on in a reasonable
amount of time in an emergency. PFDs should not be stowed in
plastic bags, in locked compartments, or have other gear stowed on
top of them. They must also be of the proper size for the intended
wearer. Sizing for PFDs is based on body weight and chest size. A
good way to test this, especially for children, is to put it on, adjust
the straps, and have the wearer raise their arms up, and try to pull
it up off them. If it can come off, it is not the right size for the
wearer.
Those are the requirements, so now lets talk about the
suggestions. If you have children in or around water, make
sure they have a PFD on. Air mattresses, floaties, and other toy
floatation objects don’t count. There have been way too many
stories of toddlers near the water’s edge falling in and drowning,
and these could be prevented by following this suggestion. Also,
keep a watchful eye on those kids...even if they are only out of
your sight for a few seconds, its long enough for them to get in
trouble around the water. Last, wear one on boats even if you don’t
have to. In an emergency, you may not have enough time to put it

Tulsa Police arrested a 20-year-old man for a rape that they
say was filmed on a cell phone. Willie Donnell Jackson is being
held in lieu of a $75,000 bond on complaints of first degree
rape and rape by instrumentation.
Police say the victim went to her boyfriend’s apartment in
the 4800 block of South Darlington, agreeing to have sex with
him and another man. She drank about seven shots of alcohol
and smoked marijuana with them, an arrest and booking report
states.
“The victim stated at some point and time she passed out losing consciousness,”
the report states.
Police showed the woman cell phone video of Jackson having sex with her, and
the officer said the victim was shocked and very emotional, saying several times
that she did not give consent to having sex with Jackson.
She believed the marijuana cigarette had been laced with something because
“she did not remember a thing” that she saw on the video.
“The victim at the time of the sexual intercourse was unconscious of the nature
of the act,” the arresting officer said.
Police say Jackson would have been aware of her state because the men were
“physically moving her body into positions as well as turning her over onto her
back and stomach, and she appeared to be like a rag doll.”

An unlucky member of an up-to-no-good trio was arrested
in a Bristow school when he admitted to possessing marijuana for distribution.
According to the affidavit, a Bristow police officer was dispatched to Washington School on April 12 in reference to
three individuals going inside the school.
When the officer arrived, he looked in a window and saw
two males and a female inside one of the rooms.
He identified himself as a police officer, and the three individuals took off running when they saw him. He ordered them
to stop, but they kept running.
The officer entered the school and saw one of the men, later
identified as Darian Rasean Morris, 18, enter another room
of the school.
The officer told him to come out of the room with his hands where he could see them.
He placed Morris in handcuffs and asked his if he had anything illegal or harmful on his
person.
Morris said no, but a pat search revealed a plastic bag with 11 individually-wrapped baggies inside containing a green leafy substance and a round pill.
Not sure how he thought he was going to keep 11 bags of weed hidden!
The officer asked Morris why the green leafy substance was individually packaged inside
one baggie.
Morris allegedly told him, "I'm not going to lie. It's for distribution."
The officer placed Morris under arrest and transported him to jail.
When processing the evidence, the green leafy substance field-tested positive for marijuana. The pill was identified as oxycodone.
Morris is being charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a controlled substance in presence of a minor or within 1,000 feet of a school or
park. He is being held in lieu of a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May
16, 2014.

(Oklahoma City) The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office is making a
plea to anyone who might have historic pictures, or artifacts related to
our agency to share them with us.
“The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office is working on a history project.
If you, your family, friends or acquaintances have any old photos or artifacts related to OCSO would love to have them or a digital copy”, said
Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office has been in existence since the
1890’s well before Oklahoma became a state in 1907, and we have very
few items in house to document our history. “These items we are looking for could be from the 1890s, the 1900s, during the Oklahoma City
Bombing – just historical photos involving the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office including people, vehicles, etcetera”, said Whetsel.

In Oklahoma, the wind and
rain that come with spring can
wreak havoc on our homes and
property. By being prepared
and being aware, consumers
can avoid being victimized.
Be alert to several clues that
might indicate a less-than-reputable repairman. Be wary of
anyone who solicits door-todoor, offers discounts for finding other customers or “just
happens to have” materials left
over from a previous job. Also,
be suspicious of a repairman who accepts only cash payments, pressures you for an immediate decision or asks you to pay for the entire
job up-front.
Remember the following tips:
-Ask people you trust for referrals.
-Whenever possible, deal with local firms with roots in the community.
-Check out the repairman with the Attorney General’s Consumer
Protection Unit.
-Ask for customer references.
-Get written estimates from several firms.
-Don’t do business without a written contract.
-Get all guarantees, warranties and promises in writing.
-Agree on start and completion dates and have them written into
the contract.
The same rules apply when dealing with lawn, landscape, swimming pool or any type of speciality work.
Whether doing weather-related repairs or just general property
updates or repairs, consumers need to exercise caution before opening up their homes and their wallets. We can keep scam artists at

Two nervous men were arrested April 15 for possession of synthetic
marijuana after they were caught speeding through Crescent.
According to the affidavit, Crescent police officers were on patrol when
they saw a vehicle traveling 57 mph in a 45 mph posted speed zone. The
vehicle also had an out-of-date paper tag.
The officers conducted a traffic stop at Sanderson and North Grand
and made contact with the men.
The driver of the vehicle, Greenville, South Carolina, man Matthew
Karl Durn, 20, immediately lit a cigarette when he stopped and began
smoking it rapidly. When an officer spoke to him, Durn was apprehensive, nervous and stuttering.
The passenger, Enid man John Manuel Barbosa, 20, was also acting
nervous and apprehensive, and he kept placing his hand in his front
pocket.
The officer asked Durn if there were any illegal items in the vehicle.
Durn told him, "I have nothing to hide. No sir, I do not have anything
illegal in the vehicle."
According to police, Durn became more apprehensive and couldn't
speak without stuttering.
He told the officer that he was just trying to get to Enid and stay with his friend.
Durn consented to let police search his vehicle, and again told the officer that he didn't
have anything to hide. Prior to the search, the officers performed a pat down of the men.
The officer did not find anything on Durn's person,
Police found a pipe and a package of synthetic marijuana in Barbosa's pocket.
In the vehicle, police found several packages of synthetic marijuana and several pipes with
residue.
Durn admitted that the items found in the vehicle belonged to him.
The men were transported to jail.
Durn is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and expired tag. He was released on a $8,000 bond.
Barbosa is being charged with unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance
without a prescription and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on
a $2,000 bond.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court on May 22, 2014.

Tremane Wood was convicted of
stabbing a 19-year-old Montana man
to death in a motel room on New
Year’s Day 2002.
Prosecutors alleged that Wood
and his brother, Zjaiton Wood, 34,
robbed Ronald Wipf, 31, and another
Montana man, Arnold Jonathan
Kleinsasser, before the stabbing.
Zjaiton Wood was sentenced to life
in prison without parole and an
additional 120 years for the robbery
and killing.
Wipf and Kleinsasser were working on a harvesting crew at a
farm in Chickasha. The two men were members of the Hutterites
of the Riverview Colony, a religious sect in Montana, and had
returned to Oklahoma after spending the holidays with their
families.
Prosecutors alleged that Kleinsasser and Wipf met two women,
Lanita Sue Bateman and Brandy Lynn Warden, at a restaurant
on New Year’s Eve 2001 and that they off ered to have sex with
the pair for $210. But prosecutors alleged that the women were
setting the men up to be robbed.
Bateman, 29, was sentenced to life in prison plus 101 years
for her role in the crime. Warden, 30, pleaded guilty to a lesser
charge and testifi ed against Bateman in exchange for a 45-year
prison sentence.

Not many people wear fanny packs
anymore, but when they do, they just
might be hiding something suspicious.
Apparently, no one told Frederick
Hutchinson that fanny packs were so
90s, because the 56-year-old Purcell
man was caught wearing one with a
plethora of illegal items inside.
Maybe he just likes to keep his drugs
within reach.
According to the affidavit, Chandler police were advised on April 11
that Hutchinson, who was wanted on
a Lincoln County felony warrant, was
walking southbound on Dewey wearing a fanny pack. Police located a man that matched the description
of the suspect walking southbound on Iowa north of Eighth Street.
They made contact with the suspect and positively identified him as
Hutchinson, and placed him under arrest for his warrant.
Before placing Hutchinson in the patrol vehicle, the officer conducted a search and asked him if he had anything the officer needed
to know about. Hutchinson admitted that he had marijuana in his
fanny pack.
That wasn't the only thing.
Hutchinson told the officer where to locate the drug. The officer
bravely went where not many have gone before — inside another
man's fanny pack to locate the weed.
The officer found a green leafy substance that tested positive for
marijuana, two packages of rolling papers, a syringe and three lighters.
Someone was ready to party out of his fanny pack.
Hutchinson is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $3,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on May 1, 2014.
