Going green by
another means
A Stillwater taxi company owner was in the wrong kind of
green service Aug. 17, police say.
Just before 5 p.m. that day, officer Adam Elliott and fellow
local police officers executed a search warrant at a residence
belonging to Kolbe Moore, 30. Immediately when they walked
inside, there was an “overwhelming” odor of marijuana, which
prompted police to ask some questions. However, Moore said he
would rather speak with an attorney.
The search of the house revealed Moore is the owner of Green
Machine Taxi, a cab service advertised primarily to OSU students. Next to his computer of taxi locations were an ashtray
with marijuana roaches, marijuana stems and loose marijuana.
Near the coffee table, police found a marijuana pipe, other paraphernalia and a bag with more than 20 grams of marijuana, according to the affidavit.
In a downstairs bedroom, Elliott found Moore’s college degree
hanging on the wall, as well as correspondence for the taxi company. There was an additional half pound of marijuana in a closet safe, along with a scale and packaging materials.
Worse still, police found more than $6,000 in cash in a file cabinet near the safe.
Moore’s residence is about 1,200 feet from a Stillwater private school, landing him a
charge of possession with intent to distribute within 2,000 feet of a school. He also faces
charges of possession of a firearm while committing a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Moore posted a $30,000 bond the day after his arrest. He has court set for 10 a.m. Oct 7.

Dope dealers duped
A husband-wife team faces felony charges after police allege they tried to dupe
pharmacists at Wal Mart Aug. 22. Around
8:30 p.m. that day, the on-duty pharmacist at Wal Mart at West Sixth Street told
Stillwater investigator Thomas Comstock
she received a prescription for a woman
named Summer, which asked for 60 oxycodone pills. An officer from Oklahoma
City called the Wal Mart and told the pharmacist the prescription was fraudulent,
adding that it was one of many possibly
passed around the Oklahoma City area.
Comstock and another officer then went
to Wal Mart to talk to the woman, later
identified as Nicole Makintubee, when she went to pick up the pills. Makintubee and her husband Steven approached the counter around 9 p.m., and a pharmacy employee confirmed they
were trying to use a forged prescription. The couple was promptly arrested.
In an interview after, Steven Makintubee said he drove his wife to the store so she could get
her pills. He also said he knew the prescription was false, but they were getting the product for a
dealer known as “James” from Oklahoma City, taking a cut from the pills for their service.
A later search of the couple’s car turned up a prescription bottle for Xanax and half a gram of
marijuana.
The Makintubees face charges of falsely obtaining controlled substances, possession with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana. Nicole posted a $2,500 bond Aug. 28, and her
husband posted a $7,500 bond the next day.
The pair will appear in court at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 27.

Pets seldom catch much press as
it relates to vehicles, but we have
our pets in our vehicles all the
time. To many, they are a part of the family, and go with us on
trips, to run errands around town, or just out for a ride. Just as we
treat them as part of the family, we have a responsibility to them,
including doing everything we can to keep them safe while in our
vehicles.
This summer, we have been very fortunate in the temperature
department! Only a few days so far have hit triple digits, we’ve had
pretty good rain, and it has been nice. With the temperatures lower
than they have been in the last few years at this time...it could be
easy to forget that as long as the sun is shining, the temperature
inside a parked car can still rise to dangerous levels. Leaving a pet
in the vehicle for as little as 15 minutes can end up having tragic
consequences. Even when the outside temps are in the 70’s, the
temperatures in a closed up vehicle can reach the 90’s or higher. The
best solution is to leave your pet at home. If that is just not possible,
or you choose not to, make sure that your pet has water, and leave
the vehicle running with the air conditioning on. Make sure you
don’t leave your pet for long, because the AC could go out, and then
your pet is stuck in a vehicle that is hot, and is also blowing hot air!
Many people let their dogs ride in the bed of their pickup. We’ve
all seen those dogs with their face into the wind, riding in the back
of the pickup. Please remember that the bed of those pickups are
metal, and even if they are covered by a bed liner or similar product,
the temperature can heat up the bed so hot as to be extremely
painful to your pet’s paws! Again, best solution is to leave the pet at
home, but if take them with
you, use a kennel or crate. This keeps the pet up off the hot bed
of the pickup, and also eliminates the possibility of the pet jumping
out, or even the potential of biting someone who gets too close to
the truck!
Speaking of crates, they aren’t a bad idea for inside the cab either.
Ever see a dog in the lap of a driver? Obviously this is not safe, the
pet can distract the driver, or even interfere with the safe operation
of the vehicle. This puts everyone at risk, so if you are going to
travel with your pet, make sure they don’t contribute to an accident,
and keep them out of the driver’s area!
This a just a few tips. The internet has plenty more, so please
educate yourself if traveling with pets. Thanks for reading, buckle
up, and be safe!

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.

Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

What you’re saying
about this on...
Tucker W: These children need new homes
ASAP
Krysta R: Why do people like this get a
second chance? Isn’t one time getting caught
forcing kids to live in filth enough?
Dustin H: Poor babies
Beulah M: Not with any relatives don’t
sound like they know to clean or take care of kids,
this includes granny!
Moonbaby D: Omg. Whats wrong with
people!!
Carmen R: Apparently not in Oklahoma.....
you can get by with anything even murder.
RIDICULOUS
Jo Ann D: Poor kids
Cheryl T: 2nd time?? Smh
Tonya R: Really sad that most of these
jailbirds post are abused children....Get it
together people!
Carmen R: And why wasn’t the great state
of Oklahoma and its DHS checking up on them?
Utter ignorance.
Courtney O: They were checking on them,
says in the caption that they found them while
they were there on a “welfare check”. There is
nothing wrong with OK DHS, they were doing
their job.
Lea C: And why do these people keep bringing
more innocent children into that life. Speechless
BekanMike S: Let’s pray the kids get taken
away for good.. to loving family who will bless
them with decent home an love
Sara M: I get paranoid letting my daughter
play in mud
Brittney M: So lets NOT give them back to
them a third time. Come on DHS, get your sh*t
together!!!
Sharon G: Its not just oklahoma its the dhs
workers they need to do their dang job an look in
to stuff like that
Rich L: On a recent Tulsa TV news thread a
family member of contestant #3, (the older lady
most recently arrested), defended the couple and
decided to call everyone who stated the obvious
about the couple “stupid”, “uniformed” and my
favorite “examples of the public school system in
Tulsa”. Gotta love people sometimes!
Sara M: I also get paranoid when grass gets on
my child. Im paranoid shes gonna get chiggers or
step in poop. Yes im a very paranoid mother. But
I dont let it control me lol but still I get anxious
when my daughter only pees a little in her diaper.
If she still smells like a poopy or diaper I have to
give her a bath. If there is a smidgen of trash on
the floor I freak out.
David A: wow i hope the kids are going to be
ok! fine parents we have.some people should not
have kids...
Emmy B: There’s a difference in a kid that’s
dirty from playing outside and lives in a cluttered
(but sanitary) home and a child that is left to live
in filth...it’s healthy for kids to play outdoors
and indoors but its unhealthy for children to be
brought up in the conditions that were reported.
My God feces on the floor!!! it’s only teaching
those kids that it’s acceptable to live like that as
an adult. There’s no excuse for adults that are too
lazy to clean.
Nikole T: No one wants to work for DHS bc
it’s SUPER low pay, terrible hours, and you see
horrific things every day. No, they shouldn’t have
been returned to the home, but my goodness....
stop being so judgmental. Be the change you
wish to see in the world!!! I dare any of you to go
work for DHS and fix it.
KIDS FOUND IN FILTH TAKEN AWAY
FOR SECOND TIME
Prosecutors have filed charges
against three people after Tulsa
Police found three children
living in filth last week.
Matthew Prior and Angela
Prior each face one count of
child neglect.
Police went to their home in the
1200 block of North 76th East
Avenue on Tuesday, August 6,
2013 on a welfare check.
According to a Tulsa Police report, officers found the couple’s three children in a filthy
home, with cockroaches, rotting food and feces on the floor.
Prosecutors also charged the children’s grandmother with child neglect. According to
investigators, Janet Marie Friend, 57, is the primary caregiver of three children -- ages 5, 3
and 2.
The children were removed in February because of the filth but were returned in May.
All three are in the Tulsa County jail with bonds of more than $150,000 each. The children
are in DHS custody.

Bunk in the trunk
A Guthrie man’s decision to steal a pair of bunk beds landed him a trip to the county jail Aug. 12.
Just before midnight the day before, sheriff’s deputy Jordan Brown went to a home on Family Circle on a suspicious
person report. The woman who reported the incident said
she saw a man walking around her property with a flashlight, but he went to Prairie Grove Street afterward. Brown
drove around the neighborhood and saw a car heading east
on Prairie Grove, so he followed it.
Before the car, driven by Michael Morris, approached the
intersection, it stopped and remained stationary. Brown noticed a blue bed frame sticking out of the vehicle, and the
woman confirmed Morris was the person she saw acting
suspiciously. Brown then approached the vehicle to confront
Morris, who said he was on his way to a friend’s house to
paint the bunk beds he just bought.
A check of his driver’s license revealed it was suspended, so Brown asked some more
questions. Morris said he was out late because he just left work, but at that point another
man approached Brown to say a family member saw a suspicious person at his residence
and realized two blue bunk beds were missing.
Soon after Morris was arrested, another woman walked to the scene and said Morris
told her he bought the beds earlier in the day to take to his boss’s house. She never saw
them, however, she said.
Morris was released Aug. 12 on a $6,000 bond and faces one count of knowingly concealing stolen property. He has court set for 9 a.m. Sept. 26.

Time for a real job
A pair of Logan County men could buy thousands of
sodas with the fines they face from burglarizing area
vending machines Aug. 17.
Around 10:45 p.m. the day before, officer Bryan
Crumb was on patrol when other officers briefed him
on two separate vending machine burglaries, which occurred at a local Best Western Hotel and the East Town
Village apartments. Detectives took reports from the
locations earlier that day and got surveillance camera
photos of Robert Stratton, 43, and Karl Fredriksen, 43,
using a modified barrel pick key to break in. The pair
left the area on bicycles, Crumb said.
Just before 3 a.m. the next day, deputies were dispatched to an area in Logan County after
hearing about two men riding around on bicycles looking for residences or businesses to burglarize. They matched the description from the surveillance video, according to the affidavit.
When confronted, Stratton and Frederiksen said they were riding their bikes for fun. A consented search of their backpacks turned up two barrel keys and a small razor blade knife, as well
as a folding knife and flashlight. Moreover, Stratton had a methamphetamine pipe in a pocket,
which police found during a pat search. Worse still, Frederiksen’s backpack had pliers, wire cutters and a screwdriver.
Once the pair was booked in jail, officers discovered Frederiksen was renting a room at the
Interstate Motel while the pair, who are originally from out of state, went on a theft spree.
Stratton and Frederiksen each face two counts of burglary, one count of possession of burglary
tools and three drug-related charges. They have previous felony drug and theft-related convictions from Arizona and face up to 14 years in prison for each burglary charge alone.
Frederiksen and Stratton remain in custody on $50,000 bonds each. They have court set for
9 a.m. Sept. 26.

Shana Suggs, a 25-year-old Haileyville woman, has been
jailed after she allegedly poured gasoline on her daughter’s
head to treat a head lice problem - and ended up setting the
little girl on fire instead.
According to police, Suggs was attempting to treat her
5-year-old daughter’s head lice problem when she brought
the little girl into a bathroom and began pouring gasoline
over her head.
Investigators say a nearby water heater ignited on the gasoline fumes, which set both Suggs and the little girl on fire.
Sugg’s boyfriend reportedly heard screams coming from
the bathroom and used a jacket to smother out the flames -
but not before the little girl was severely burned.
Prosecutors say the child suffered second and third-degree
burns to more than 60 percent of her body. Although the
incident occurred in January, the girl continues to receive burn treatments at a Tulsa
burn center and a Texas Shriner Hospital.
After a long investigation, Suggs was booked into the Pittsburg County Jail and charged
with child abuse by injury. Her case is expected to go to trial in January.

Crazy is as
crazy does
A Sand Springs man, who was described by one of his victims as “a crazy
man”, is facing several felony charges in
Lincoln County after he went on a crime
spree in three counties.
Ricky Allan Cox, Jr., 27, was charged
August 29 with first-degree robbery,
first-degree burglary, and possession of
a stolen vehicle in Lincoln County District Court.
According to the police affidavit, an
89-year-old woman called the Lincoln
County 911 Center to report a “crazy
man” inside her house and she needed
help. She gave dispatch her rural county
road address and deputies immediately
responded to the scene.
Unfortunately, the “crazy man” was already gone when they arrived.
It all began across the road from the elderly woman’s home. A witness told deputies he was working in the garden when he saw a white
truck crash through the gate and stop near a tree. When the witness
confronted the driver, later identified as Cox, Cox grabbed the witness’ checkbook and some cash from his front pocket and ran across
the street to the elderly woman’s house.
The elderly woman, who had gone outside, told deputies that when
she went back into her home, Cox was sitting in a chair in her living
room. When she told him to leave, he announced he was thirsty and
grabbed a gallon of milk and some canned pop from the refrigerator
and headed for the front door. As he left, the elderly woman threw an
empty ice cream bucket at him, just for good measure. In return, Cox
smashed out two of her windows.
Cox was later spotted by deputies in Chandler leaving the Taco
Mayo. After a short foot chase, Cox was apprehended and transported
to the Lincoln County Jail.
Seems Cox’s crazy escapade began a few days earlier in Wagoner
County where he had been charged with knowingly concealing stolen
property and other crimes, then upon his release, he stole the white
truck he was driving from Creek County, and the fiasco finally ended
in Chandler.
Cox’s bond was set at $250,000.

Weapons of mass
destruction
Two men were taken into custody Aug. 14 after drugs and guns
were found in their vehicle during
a routine traffic stop. A woman was
also arrested later after a search
warrant was executed at one of the
men’s home and more drugs and
guns were found.
Paul Robledo, 27, of Chandler,
was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, knowingly concealing stolen property, possession of a firearm AFCF, possession of CDS,
possession of sawed-off shotgun/rifle, and possession
of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $100,000.
Garret Langham, 28, of Cushing, was charged with
possession of a firearm AFCF, possession of CDS, and
possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at
$10,000.
The woman, Cheyenne Presnal, 20, of Chandler,
who is also Robledo’s girlfriend, was charged with
possession of firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of possession of CDS, possession of a sawed-off shotgun/rifle, and possession of
drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $50,000.
That day, OHP Trooper Justin Miller was on routine patrol in Chandler
when he noticed the driver of a Pontiac Sunfire wasn’t wearing his seat belt.
He stopped the vehicle and the driver, Robledo, stepped out of the car. As
he did, a plastic bag of weed fell to the ground.
Miller cuffed Robledo and his passenger, Langham, and conducted a
search of the vehicle. Inside, he found a stolen .45 caliber Taurus semi-automatic handgun, another bag of marijuana, digital scales, unused plastic
baggies, a glass smoking device with burnt residue inside it, a large caliber
revolver, a scope rifle, and two cell phones.
During an interview with Langham, he said Robledo was a drug dealer.
A search warrant was issued for Robledo’s residence and there investigators found a loaded .45 caliber pistol, a loaded 12 gauge shotgun with a 16”
barrel length, small baggies with meth residue inside, several smoking devices, more marijuana, more plastic baggies, digital scales, a Matrix ballistic
vest, a military-style ballistic vest, and a Star semi-automatic pistol.
Presnal, who also lived at the house and was there during the search, was
taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

ENABLING CHILD ABUSE
TALKING TO OUR KIDS ABOUT
FITTING IN
Do your kids ever fret over the
fact that they “don’t fit in”? We all
feel this way at some point in our
lives. Being alone in a room full of
people is a scary thing. We all want
to belong; to fit in. It’s beyond
instinctive, it gives us the feeling
of safety and security–no matter
what our age. So, when our kids tell us that they don’t fit in, what
they could be saying is, “I’m scared because I don’t feel safe”.
Some kids really have a tough time fitting in for a variety of
reasons. Some kids are socially awkward, and don’t know how
to start a conversation with a peer. If your child struggles with a
physical or learning disability, chances are he/she feels isolated
from the rest of the class anyway. Whatever the reason is, simply
telling them that they really DO fit in, is not as helpful as you’d
expect.
Using God’s Word to Encourage Our Children
Being a Christian parent doesn’t make dealing with these tough
situations easier. But we DO have a resource to back up what we
tell our kids, and that’s God’s Word. When we actively listen to
the pain of our children feeling like they don’t belong or fit in, we
can do more than coach them in social skills (which may be a very
important tool). We can use God’s Word to encourage them even
in these struggles.
Psalm 139:14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul
knows it very well.
I’ve found the world’s solutions to the many painful aspects of
not fitting in, being teased, or feeling isolated, are superficial at
best and not helpful at all. I mean, sticks and stones may definitely
break my bones–but words really CAN and DO hurt me!
Instead we must remind our children that God, who created
them and therefore knows every nuance of them, has a specific
plan and purpose for their lives. That HE thinks they are wonderful
and worthy of love AND friendship.
The Bible says:
Fitting in
