A 22-year-old Claremore man’s night at the
Hard Rock Casino ended with a trip to jail,
some felony charges and a court date -- jackpot! Cody Daniel Pike allegedly assaulted several security guards and police officers while in
a drunken stupor on July 17.
According to the police report, a Catoosa
officer was dispatched to the casino shortly
after 2 p.m. He was advised that a “combative subject” had assaulted several security
guards, and he was continuing to fight them.
When the officer arrived, he met with Pike,
who refused to answer any questions. Instead, he just continued to argue with the officer.
Pike had bloodshot watery eyes and slurred speech. He also smelled
strongly like alcohol.
Witnesses told the officer they saw Pike hit a security guard in the chest
during the altercation. The officer placed Pike under arrest, but the man continued to resist. On the way to the patrol vehicle, he tried to kick several officers.
When they arrived at the jail, he continued to resist and assault officers.
When an officer was trying to put a spit hood on the combative man, Pike
jerked away and started kicking the officer on her left knee. He continued to
kick until she stopped him from moving his leg.
Pike is being charged with assault and battery on police officer, assault
and battery, resisting an officer, public intoxication and disturbing the peace.
His bond was set at $6,860.25, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
September 7, 2016.

A 32-year-old Adair woman was
locked up after she allegedly went
through her coworker’s purse and stole
some pills on July 4.
According to the affidavit, an Adair
police officer was dispatched to a convenience store in the 100 block of W.
Main shortly after 9 p.m. The victim told
the officer she worked at the store earlier that day. When she got home, she
grabbed her Tramadol pills out of her
purse. When she opened the bottle, she
noticed there were only four pills left.
She said she had approximately 20 pills
in the bottle earlier that day.
The victim asked her manager to review surveillance footage to see if anyone had taken the pills out of her purse. She went back to the store around
8 p.m. to see if the culprit had been caught on film.
Yep! She saw Lynse Michelle Goodman get the bottle of Tramadol out
of her purse and take some pills. The woman swallowed a handful of pills
as she walked back into the store.
The victim’s manager said sent Goodman home around 7 p.m. because
the woman didn’t feel well.
The officer reviewed the surveillance footage and saw the exact same
thing as the victim. He watched as Goodman walked into the locker room
and opened the victim’s locker. She then started rummaging through the
woman’s purse and took out a bottle of pills. She opened the container
and poured some of the meds into her hands. After closing the bottle and
putting it back into the victim’s purse, Goodman walked out of the locker
room and into the store, emptying an unknown amount of pills into her
mouth.
The officer looked at the victim’s locker and verified that it had her name
on it. He asked her if she had a lock on it at the time of the alleged burglary. The victim said no, it was not locked because employees didn’t
have locks.
Around 10 a.m. the next day, the victim contacted the officer and told
him she had continued to review the surveillance footage, and she discovered that Goodman returned to her locker a second time and took more
of her medication.
Goodman is being charged with burglary in the second degree. Her
bond was set at $20,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on
August 25, 2016.

Attorney General Scott Pruitt announced the Attorney General’s Office is
joining efforts with the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women, the
YWCA and the Oklahoma Women’s Coalition to host the 2016 Solutions,
Initiatives, and Strategies Summit exploring issues surrounding domestic violence.
The 2016 Domestic Violence Summit will be held in Oklahoma City to educate and increase awareness about domestic violence, discuss its impact,
prevention, and obstacles to change. City and state leaders, business leaders, professionals, service providers, and members of the faith community will
explore specific issues surrounding domestic violence and its effect on Oklahoma. The goal for this event is to formulate recommendations to stimulate
changes in state policy and create initiatives to benefit survivors of domestic
violence statewide.
“Unfortunately, domestic violence is a serious issue in Oklahoma, affecting
thousands of families each year,” Attorney General Pruitt said. “This summit
is an opportunity to educate and increase awareness of domestic violence in
hopes that we can make strides toward preventing the tragedy of lives being
destroyed by violence in our state.”

For a trio of drug thieves, it was their lucky day. They broke into a home in
Silver Springs, Florida, and discovered three jars of cocaine. They took it home
and snorted the contents. That’s when they discovered that the jars were in
fact urns, and that they were snorting the cremains of the victim’s husband
and two dogs.
When an attempted robbery at a Lowes Home Improvement store went
awry, Milton J. Hodges fled across the street and jumped a fence … right into
the Cypress Cove Nudist Resort & Spa. As the Orlando Sentinel pointed out,
“As one of the only folks wearing clothing,” Hodges was easily spotted by
police.
It’s the worst possible time to faint—in the middle of robbing a bank. But
that’s what happened to a Beavercreek, Ohio, thief. The teller called 911 and
asked for medics. But you have to applaud the man’s stick-to-it-iveness. While
the ambulance was en route, the suspect handed a note to the teller demanding all her cash.
The victim’s jewelry was missing, the electronics were gone, and a window
was smashed. No wonder she was hysterical when officer Charanjit Meharu of
the Calgary police arrived. Then her French-speaking father called. Speaking
in French, she explained that it was all a scam in order to get the insurance
money. What she didn’t suspect was that Officer Meharu speaks six languages, including French.
A 12-year-old boy adamantly denied having stolen an iPhone when questioned by police at his home. And then the iPhone rang in his closet. Okay, yes,
he stole that. But as for the Blackberry he was also accused of stealing, he
double-adamantly denied… *RING!!*
Don’t you hate it when you suffer a heart attack and think you’re going to die,
so you confess to a 17-year-old murder, only to find out you’re not going to
die and then get sentenced to life in prison as a result? Yeah, so does James
Washington, of Nashville, because it happened to him.
Following a dispute, Craig Aylesworth, of Bithlo, Florida, allegedly tossed a
Molotov Cocktail at his neighbor’s trailer home … just as the winds shifted,
sending embers on to his own trailer. Luckily, he was arrested, since he no
longer had a home of his own to return to.

Delaware woman Breanna Nicole Adair,
35, was arrested in Nowata County after she
allegedly refused to stop for officers on July
16. She told them her daughter had been
life-flighted to Tulsa, but officers knew she
was lying.
According to the affidavit, a state trooper
was traveling north on U.S. Highway 169
near Roxy when he saw a vehicle speeding
southbound on the highway. The vehicle’s
hazard lights were flashing. Other officers
confirmed that the vehicle was traveling
more than the posted 45 mph speed. The
trooper turned on his emergency lights in an
attempt to stop the vehicle, but he driver had other ideas -- she accelerated
and headed south on U.S. Highway 169.
Adair passed one vehicle, nearly running it off the road, and recklessly
passed another car in a marked no passing zone. Dispatch advised one of
the car’s occupants called them and said they were speeding because their
daughter was having a medical emergency.
The trooper told dispatch the tell the couple to stop, and he would get
them an ambulance. They still refused, but the pursuit was nearing the end.
The vehicle came to a stop at U.S. Highway 169 and Cherokee Street in
Talala. The driver was identified as Adair.
The trooper asked her why she didn’t stop. She replied that her daughter
had just been life-flighted to Tulsa from Nowata. Knowing that no one had
been life-flighted from Nowata, the trooper told her if she had just stopped,
they could have figured everything out. She told him she just freaked out.
Adair’s passenger told police he was walking around Delaware when his
girlfriend, Adair, pulled up and told him to get in the car. He said she told him
her daughter had been life-flighted to Tulsa.
The man said he kept telling her to stop, but she refused. He even called
dispatch to let them know what was going on, but Adair still refused to stop
the vehicle.
Adair is being charged with eluding/attempting to elude police officer and
speeding in excess of lawful maximum limit. Her bond was set at $1,000,
and she is scheduled to appear in court on August 1, 2016.

Goodman, Missouri, man Charles Joseph
Partain was arrested on July 9 after a concerned citizen advised police suspicious vehicles were hanging around the showers in
the Lakemont RV Park around 1:45 a.m.
According to the affidavit, Delaware County
deputies went to investigate. The reporting
party advised that people were smoking out
of a glass pipe.
The deputies found two vehicles parked
near the shower rooms. A deputy found a
man and woman sitting in a vehicle. He asked
them to exit the car. The woman said they
had just finished taking a shower. Neither
one of them appeared wet, and the shower
rooms were also completely dry.
A second man was located in the other vehicle. He was identified as
Partain.
Partain appeared to be nervous, and he asked the deputy if he could
grab some cigarettes out of his vehicle. The deputy told Partain no, but
when he turned around to talk to the woman, he saw the man reach inside
his vehicle.
The deputy placed the man in handcuffs and asked him what he was
reaching for. Partain replied, “My smokes.”
The deputy searched the man, and he found three bottles of pills. One
was a small glass bottle containing nitro pills. The other two contained oxycodone and morphine.
The deputy looked at the labels and noticed the meds had been refilled
the day before. Some of the pills were missing. He asked Partain where the
rest of his meds were. Partain said, “At my house in Missouri in my safe.”
The deputy asked the woman what her relationship to the two men was.
She said, “He is my boyfriend and [Partain] is my husband. I’m staying with
him while I work things out with my husband.”
The couple was checked for warrants, but they were cleared.
The deputy placed Partain under arrest for transporting a narcotic in an
unmarked container for illegal sales and conducted an inventory of his vehicle. He found a small glass smoking device with a burnt residue. The
device tested positive for meth.
The deputy asked Partain who the pipe belonged to -- Partain said it was
his.
Partain is being charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $1,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
August 15, 2016.

A Vinita man was taken into custody after he
allegedly assaulted and
kidnapped a woman.
Dewayne Edward
Starr, 46, was charged
July 12 with assault and
battery with a deadly
weapon, kidnapping,
and threatening an act
of violence, in Craig
County District Court.
According to court records, Starr is accused
of holding the woman against her will on July 8 in a
home in Vinita. He then allegedly stabbed her with a
knife and used a light fixture chain to wrap around her
neck and choke her.
Starr also allegedly told the victim that he was going
to kill her.
Starr is being held in the Craig County jail on
$200,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear before a
judge on August 26 for his preliminary hearing.

A San Francisco thief pedaled his bike up to a woman on the sidewalk, snatched the iPhone
out of her hands, and rode away. Unknown to him, the woman was in the middle of demonstrating the iPhone’s new GPS tracking device, which worked—the thief was captured minutes later.
Anthony Kenneth Mastrogiovanni was impersonating a police officer when he pulled over another car for speeding. The driver quickly sussed out that Mastrogiovanni was fibbing since he,
too, was a cop, but in his case, the kind of cop who doesn’t have to pretend he’s a cop because
he really is a cop. Mastrogiovanni was arrested for impersonating a police officer.
How convenient! Only a few months earlier, an Iowa City, Iowa, man had his driver’s license stolen. Then who should show up at the bar where he worked as a bouncer, but the thief brandishing
the bouncer’s very own license as his form of ID.

Peoria man Levi Cade Holder, 26, was
arrested in Miami on July 18 for allegedly
possessing an explosive device. An officer
found the bomb after stopping the man for
running a stop sign.
According to the affidavit, a Miami officer
was on patrol at approximately 8:30 p.m.
near Fourth and B St. SE when he saw a
gold colored car approach a stop sign. The
vehicle drove a full car length past the stop
sign before coming to a stop in the intersection.
The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the man as Holder. Holder couldn’t
locate proof of insurance and told the officer that he was in the process of purchasing the car.
The officer returned to his patrol car and checked the man’s information. He was advised that Holder’s license was suspended.
As the officer returned to the man’s vehicle, Holder made a face. The
officer told Holder by the look on his face, he probably already knew
what the officer was about to say.
Holder asked when it court date was. The officer told him he wasn’t
sure.
He asked the man to exit the vehicle, but Holder said no.
The officer told him they would have to tase him then. He reached for
Holder and another officer took out his Taser. Holder then said he was
just kidding. He exited the vehicle, but told officers the car wasn’t his
and they couldn’t search it.
An officer informed the man the car would be inventoried and impounded. Officers inventoried the vehicle, and they found a duffel bag
in the backseat. Inside the bag, an officer found some medication prescribed to Holder, some clothing and hygiene items, and an object the
officer believed to be a sparkler bomb.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Bomb Squad inspected the bomb and
confirmed that it was an explosive device.
Holder refused to talk to officers.
Holder is being charged with possession of explosive device, driving
with license suspended, no insurance and failure to stop for stop sign.
His bond was set at $11,711.50, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on August 3, 2016.
