32-year-old Cole Dav-Ji Taylor
apparently doesn’t understand that
when someone invites you to their
home to hang out, you usually don’t
have to break down the door.
The Duncan man was arrested on
February 24 when he did just that,
scaring a woman who alerted the
police. Taylor said he had permission to break into the apartment to
“hang out.”
According to the police report, a
Duncan officer was dispatched to
an apartment in the Elm Terrace
complex to investigate a burglary in
progress at approximately 10:45 a.m. Dispatch advised the officer that caller was worried because Taylor was in her apartment.
When the officer arrived, he knocked on the door to the woman’s apartment. Taylor answered it and told police “someone”
told him he could hang out inside of the apartment.
An officer quickly placed him in handcuffs and took him to
jail.
The victim told an officer she wasn’t at home when the alleged burglary occurred. A friend called her and let her know
that Taylor was inside of her apartment. The woman went to
investigate, and sure enough, she saw Taylor standing in the
window of her home. She called 911 from the apartment office.
The woman said she knew Taylor from around the apartment complex, but she never gave him permission to be inside
her apartment.
Taylor is being charged with breaking and entering dwelling
without permission. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is
scheduled to appear in court on April 5, 2016.
Let’s hang out
sometime. Nope.

A Duncan man and his Comanche lady friend were locked up on
March 10 for trying to elude an officer after a night of drinking and fooling around.
According to the affidavit, a Stephens County deputy was traveling
westbound on Oliver Road shortly after 2 a.m. when he saw a truck
driving extremely slowly. He also noticed the truck’s tag light was out.
The deputy turned his patrol car around to pull over the vehicle. The
slow moving truck then accelerated and took off driving from the deputy. The deputy turned on his red and blue lights in an attempt to stop
the vehicle, but the truck kept on trucking, running several stop signs
and driving in “excessive speeds.” The suspect finally came to a stop approximately 2 ½ miles west of 42nd on Hwy 53.
The deputy ordered the driver to show his hands several times. The
driver stuck his head and hands out of the window. Then, he suddenly
opened his door and exited the truck. The officer ordered him to the
ground.
A female passenger also stepped out of the vehicle and got on the
ground.
The couple was identified as Raleigh Eugene Stone Jr., 45, and
45-year-old Veronica Page Jenkins.
Stone told the deputy he didn’t stop, because he thought the deputy
was “Veronica’s old man.” He admitted to drinking at a bar earlier that night.
Stone said he decided to drive Jenkins home because she had been drinking. On the way,
they stopped at Oliver Road and started making out.
Jenkins was visibly upset. She told the officer she told Stone to stop several times.
The woman said they stopped to “fool around” on Oliver Road, and she was naked when the
officer first pulled up.
She admitted to drinking. She knew Stone had been drinking as well.
The deputy conducted sobriety tests on Stone, but the man didn’t pass.
The couple was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
During booking, Stone became belligerent and called the deputy a few unpleasant names.
Jenkins is being charged with public intoxication. She was released on a $500 bond and is
scheduled to appear in court on May 10, 2016.
Stone is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and
eluding police officer. His bond was set at $25,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on May 11, 2016.

april is National Abuse
Prevention Month
Sexual abuse affects both boys and girls of all ages, in all
kinds of neighborhoods and communities. Children are more
likely to be sexually abused by
someone they know and trust
than by a stranger. Abusers do
not always use physical force.
Many use games, gifts, lies, or
threats to engage children and
to keep them from telling anyone what has happened.
Signs of Possible Sexual
Abuse
The following may indicate
sexual abuse and should not be ignored:
• Unexplained pain, itching, redness, or bleeding in the genital area
• Increased nightmares or bedwetting
• Withdrawn behavior or appearing to be in a trance
• Angry outbursts or sudden mood swings
• Loss of appetite or difficulty swallowing
• Anxiety or depression
• Sudden, unexplained avoidance of certain people or places
• Sexual knowledge, language, or behavior that is unusual for
the child’s age

Abuse Campaign, and Stop It Now. At https://www.childwelfare.gov/topics/preventing/promoting/parenting, or call

Comanche woman Paytin Nicole Marcum, 21, told an officer her boyfriend
hurt her during an altercation on March
5. She ended up being the one who got
arrested for attacking her man with a
spit cup.
According to the affidavit, a Comanche officer was dispatched to an apartment in the 100 block of Seminole at
approximately 10:56 a.m. When she arrived, Marcum was sitting outside.
Marcum told the officer her stomach was hurting because her boyfriend pushed her down and
kicked her. She denied an ambulance.
The officer walked upstairs to the apartment and spoke to
the boyfriend, who was covered in a sticky liquid and brown
substance. He told the officer he was lying on the couch when
Marcum attacked him with a container he spits his tobacco in.
During the spit cup fight, she dumped the contents of the container all over him. He denied hitting or kicking her. He said
the only thing he did was grab her and push her outside so she
would stop hitting him.
The officer checked the woman for injuries, but Marcum
didn’t have any visible marks or injuries anywhere on her
body.
The officer placed her under arrest.
The woman continued to complain that she was hurting
badly. She was transported to the hospital, but medical staff
didn’t find any injuries or wounds.
The spit cup throwin’ girlfriend was then booked into jail.
Marcum is being charged with assault and battery. She was
released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in
court on May 10, 2016.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Chickasha man Preston Ray Maxwell, 20, allegedly robbed Dollar General with a gun on February
23. He was later arrested on a roof.
At approximately 11:47 a.m., Chickasha officers
were advised that an armed robbery had just taken
place at the store in the 300 block of W. Kansas Avenue. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
En route to the scene, one officer saw a man walking with his head down and hands in his pocket in
the area of 2nd and Kansas. He stopped the man
and searched his person, but all he was packing was a bottle of Sprite.
The officer asked the man if he saw anyone running. The man replied he
saw Maxwell run from Dollar General and head westbound. He said the
suspect lived in an apartment in the 100 block of N. Second Street.
Officers found Maxwell in the apartment building. He led them on a
chase from floor to floor that ended on the roof of the building.
Police arrested the man and searched his person. They found $635.75
in cash and quarters in the man’s pants. Officers also found the clothes
Maxwell was wearing during the robbery, along with a gun on the 4th floor.
The serial numbers on the gun had been scratched off.
Maxwell admitted to an officer that he stole the money to “take care of
[his] girl.” He said he owed someone a lot of cash.
Surveillance footage from the store showed Maxwell in the store a few
minutes before the incident. He then left the store before returning and
pulling out a gun from his pocket. He pointed the gun at the cashier and
pulled the slide back.He told the cashier to hand over all the money in the
register. When the employee opened the register, Maxwell grabbed all of
the cash and quarters, and took off running out of the store.
CCTV video from the man’s apartment building showed him stashing
his clothes and the gun in a doorway on the 4th floor before he ran to the
rooftop.
Maxwell is being charged with robbery with a weapon, committing felony with firearm with defaced ID number and possess firearms after conviction or during probation. His bond was set at $75,000, and he is scheduled
to appear in court on April 6, 2016.

Chickasha woman Mary Helen Howell, 23, allegedly tried to steal some
makeup from Walmart while purchasing her boyfriend some food on
March 4. She tried to be stealthy about it, but she was no match for a store
employee!
According to the affidavit, a Chickasha officer was dispatched to the store
in the 2000 block of S. First Street shortly after 6 p.m. due to a shoplifter.
When she arrived, she met with an employee and the shoplifting suspect.
The employee said she saw Howell hanging around the rug aisle at approximately 5:45 p.m. She watched the woman and saw her pull some
makeup out of a rug and put them in her purse. Howell then walked to the
floral aisle and pulled some more cosmetics out of some flowers.
The woman then paid for some food items before leaving the store.
The employee stopped her, but Howell denied having any unpaid merchandise in her purse. She
left the store and walked out into the parking lot. She must have had a change of heart, because
the employee said Howell then turned around and walked back inside.
The employee told the officer she believed Howell selected some makeup she wanted, then hid
it in various aisles in the store before putting the items in her purse.
Howell admitted to stealing the makeup. She told the officer she used her boyfriend’s debit card
to buy him some food. She really wanted some makeup, but she didn’t have much money so she
decided to steal it. The makeup Howell tried to take from the store totaled $73.01.
She was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
Howell is being charged with larceny of merchandise from retailer. She was released on a $1,000
bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 8, 2016.

21-year-old James Carry Lucas was arrested
after a Chickasha officer caught him with some
meth/MDMA, and marijuana during a traffic stop
on March 5. The Chickasha man also tried to fight
the officer.
According to the police report, the officer
stopped Lucas in the 1500 block of W. Dakota Avenue at approximately 1:37 a.m. because the man’s
license plate lamp wasn’t working. Lucas had red,
glossy eyes and his speech was thick and slurred.
He seemed to be a little disoriented.
Lucas told the officer he had just left McDonald’s, but the restaurant was
on the other side of town. He also gave the officer a wrong home address.
When the officer asked the man to step out of his truck so he could administer sobriety tests, Lucas tried to exit the vehicle while it was still in
reverse.
No surprise, but Lucas didn’t do too well on the sobriety tests.
The officer asked if he had taken any illegal drugs or prescription drugs.
Lucas said he took an anti-depressant and a “tab” three hours before the
stop.
When the officer tried to place the man under arrest, Lucas pulled away
and stomped on the officer’s ankle and foot. He then tried to bite the officer’s arm.
The officer took the man to the ground, but Lucas continued to struggle and fight. The officer eventually overpowered the intoxicated man and
placed him in handcuffs.
Before taking Lucas to jail, the officer conducted an inventory of his vehicle. He found a pill bottle containing a green leafy substance that smelled
like raw marijuana, a pipe with a burnt residue, and a wrapper containing
some red gummy squares.
The green leafy substance later tested positive for marijuana, and the
gummy squares tested positive for methamphetamine/MDMA.
Lucas is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance, assault on police officer, driving a motor vehicle while under the
influence of drugs and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was
released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 6,
2016.
Resistance is futile

A few weeks ago, a Roselle, Illinois, police officer saw a car driving southbound on
Roselle Road with a 15-foot tree embedded
in the front grill of the car. After stopping
the driver, he also noticed the airbags had
been deployed (apparently from hitting the
tree). After an investigation, the Roselle officer arrested the driver for Driving Under
the Influence of Alcohol.
Yet another reason why you should not
drink and drive!
