Sexting Stillwater teacher sentenced

STILLWATER, Okla.— Former junior high teacher from Stillwater Public Schools, Alberto Morejon, has pleaded guilty to Sexual Communication with a Minor by Use of Technology.

On May 12, 2020, the report was made by a concerned parent worried about the inappropriate relationship their daughter had with the former teacher.

According to the affidavit, in 2018, the victim started receiving inappropriate messages and nude images from her teacher. She was 14 years old at the time.

Following the report, on May 15, Detective Sherae LeJeune posed as the minor on her Instagram and messaged Morejon. By May 19, Detective LeJeune had accumulated enough incriminating messages to place him under arrest.

A second charge was brought against him by another former student for “forcible sodomy,” but the charge was later dismissed as the victim chose not to cooperate further. However, the victim can still choose to refile the charge any time before the statutes of limitation expire in 12 years.

Morejon had his teaching certificate suspended by the Board of Education in May 2020. He was sentenced to five years in jail with five years of parole. Morejon is required to register as a sex offender for the next 25 years. (News On 6 )
