23-year-old woman spits on aircraft passengers, gets physically restrained

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Adelaide Schrowang, 23, was physically restrained by police after a spitting incident on a plane at Southwest Florida International Airport.

Schrowang faces multiple charges following her refusal to wear a mask on an airplane and more.

According to 10 Tampa Bay, Schrowang became enraged and began spitting on passengers aboard the aircraft after refusing to follow TSA mask rules.

The plane’s captain issued a request for assistance. As a result, Lee County Port Authority Police Department rushed to the scene.

Police say Shrowang had a confrontation with authorities that included yelling and resisting an officer.

Shrowang was apprehended and booked into the Lee County Jail. Consequently, the suspect’s complaints include resisting an officer and a county ordinance violation for interfering with aircraft operations. Shrowang also faces trespassing charges.

Transportation Security Administration requires people to wear masks at all airports and on all aircraft until September 13th, 2021, or later. (NBC 2)
