CIGAR SMOKING BANK ROBBER EXITS IN AN EASY-TO-SPOT GOLD MINIVAN

TULSA, Okla. – A man is behind bars after using a flashy vehicle for his bank robbery getaway plan.

After getting caught robbing a bank, Kory Long has a long way to go in the criminal justice system.

On April 10, 2023, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Tulsa police were notified of a robbery at Bank of America near 71st and S. Lewis.

Long entered BofA with a cigar in his mouth as he approached the bank teller. Sporting some khakis, a blue shirt, and that cigar hanging from his lips, he handed the teller a note.

When the teller read Long’s note, the suspect clearly wanted money. Long managed to get some cash and even exited the bank with cash in hand.

But once officers looked at the security footage, they noticed Long’s getaway vehicle was a gold minivan with visible damage at the rear.

It took Tulsa officers around 45 minutes to locate Long around 51st and Harvard. Of course, police had to go on a short pursuit of the vehicle after trying to conduct a traffic stop at a motel.

Long didn’t run for long; he eventually stopped and was arrested for 1st Degree Robbery by Force of Fear. (Tulsa Police Department)
