Michigan School shooter posted online before killing three students, injuring 8

Oxford, MI — Lasting about five minutes, a shooter stepped foot at Oxford High School on Tuesday, leaving three dead and several injured. 

During the rampage, students reportedly grabbed items like scissors for self-defense and barricaded doors. Others climbed out windows into the snow to seek safety. (CNN)

The school shooting suspect is described as a 15-year-old male. The Oakland County Sheriff was able to take the shooter into custody. The suspect was detained in a juvenile detention center and placed on suicide watch.

The victims that lost their lives include 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin, 16-year-old Tate Myre, and 14-year-old Hana St. Juliana. Myre reportedly died in a patrol car on the way to a hospital.

Seven students and a teacher were among those shot by the 15-year-old suspect. According to reports, two remain in critical condition. (CNN)

According to New York Post, the shooter allegedly posted an image of a semi-automatic handgun on social media before the school rampage. The gun that the suspect used in the shooting was reportedly a 9mm Sig Sauer SP 2022 pistol purchased by the shooter’s father on Black Friday. (New York Post)

Before the shooting at Oxford High, the suspect allegedly posted a countdown on social media where, according to Fox 2 Detroit, he commented, “Now I become death – destroyer of worlds – see you tomorrow Oxford.” (Fox 2 Detroit)

Some say that the shooter was bullied, but the motive for the rampage is still unknown.
