Oklahoma woman and Kansas man arrested for passing counterfeit money at Dollar General

CANEY, Kansas – A woman and a man were arrested for their involvement with counterfeit $100 bills.

Authorities say they initiated an investigation after two suspects allegedly passed a counterfeit $100 bill at Dollar General in Caney, Kansas.

Intel led police to Anthony VanZant, 38, of Caney, and 25-year-old Morgan Burnett of Dewey, Oklahoma.

While detectives were out in the field, they contacted another woman at the 700 block of North State St. 

Police say the woman possessed 22 counterfeit $100 bills. This ultimately led to the arrest of both suspects.

The investigation later led Caney police to Burnett and VanZant.

Burnett  is charged with passing counterfeit money/theft.

VanZant is charged with aiding and abetting the passing of counterfeit money/theft.

Both suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.(Image/ref Caney Police Department)
