FATAL VOW
A Pauls Valley man is facing a manslaughter charge after he allegedly fatally shot his wife
during an argument in May.
According to reports, 32-year-old Kyle Shackelford is charged with first-degree manslaughter in
the death of his 25-year-old wife.
The shooting reportedly happened on May 26
after the couple returned home from a local casino where Shackelford had been drinking. Surveillance video showed the man ordering several alcoholic drinks at the casino and
buying more alcohol at a convenience store.
Inside their home, the couple began arguing before moving to their pickup.
While inside the vehicle, Shackelford told investigators he attempted to move
a pistol that was on the console when it discharged, striking his wife in the left
abdomen.
Shackelford then went inside the home to get his wife’s father.
The three left in the truck to seek medical attention, and while on the phone
with 911, Shackelford agreed to meet paramedics at the Pauls Valley Walmart.
The man’s wife was unconscious in the passenger seat when they arrived.
She was not breathing and was pale and turning blue.
When police spoke with Shackelford, they noticed he showed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and watery eyes.
He reportedly admitted he and his wife had been arguing after a call from one
of her friends. The friend was a former boyfriend, who later told investigators
he had two missed calls from the victim. When he called her back, Shackelford
answered the phone and asked who he was.
The friend said he could hear the victim in the background, asking for her
phone back. The friend then tried to call her back several times. He received a
Snapchat from her that said, “Please stop before I get my ass beat, I’m begging
you.”
The friend responded, but he never heard back from the victim.
The firearm recovered by investigators had one spent cartridge chambered
and three live rounds in the magazine. The medical examiner’s report determined the bullet entered the victim’s chest, fractured a rib, and pierced her heart
before lodging in the opposite side of her chest.
Shackelford is being charged with manslaughter in the first degree. His bond
was set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on October 3,
2025.

AROUND THE STATE
A Glenpool woman is facing multiple misdemeanor charges after she threatened to rob a convent
store because she couldn’t get help loading her dog
into a car.
The woman, Roxanne Horner, 31, called 911 from
a store, asking for an officer to help her load a dog
into her car. When she was told no, she threatened
to rob the store and gave the 911 operator a fake
name.
The woman left the store, and while officers were
investigating the incident, she pulled back into the
lot. Her eyes were red and watery, she had a strong smell of alcohol on her breath,
and she was off balance.
During the field sobriety tests, she didn’t do well. Her blood alcohol level was .28,
which is over three times the legal limit. They also discovered her license had been
suspended.
Horner was charged July 23 with aggravated DUI, calling 911 with false alarm, and
driving with license canceled/suspended or revoked, in Tulsa County District Court.
Her bond was set at $2000.

RONALD MCDONALD IS MISSING!
On July 5, a few unidentified suspects waltzed into McDonald’s in Nesquehoning, Pa., and walked out with Ronald McDonald himself.
We’re not clowning around. This was a full-blown McNapping.
Ronald was last seen smiling, as usual, unaware of the betrayal. Witnesses say he didn’t even put up a fight.
To the suspects:
We get it — times are tough, and therapy is expensive. But kidnapping a plastic icon of joy? That’s

CONVENIENCES
A Marietta man was sentenced on August 13
for Attempted Robbery in Indian Country and two
counts of Robbery in Indian Country.
U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson announced that
a U.S. District Judge sentenced Scott Thomas
Balch, 50, to 63 months imprisonment, followed
by three years of supervised release.
In October 2020, Balch entered a convenience
store, wearing a mask, brandished a BB airsoft pistol, and told the store clerk
he would shoot them if they didn’t comply. The employee complied, opened
the register, and gave Balch money. A few weeks later, Balch entered the same
convenience store and attempted to rob it again with the same BB airsoft pistol.
After the employee ran in fear, Blach is seen on surveillance camera, going behind the counter and stealing several scratch-off lottery tickets.
In November 2020, Balch entered a different convenience store, brandished
the same BB airsoft pistol, and demanded money.
The clerk complied and gave Balch the contents of the register.
Court records show that Balch was previously convicted in tribal and state
courts for more than 11 felonies and three misdemeanors.
Balch is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and will remain in custody pending
transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

RETURNING TO THE
SCENE OF THE CRIME
A Madill man is facing a felony charged after he
stabbed another man and left him lying in the road.
Jason Eugene Thomas, 41, of Madill, was
charged August 5 with assault and battery with
deadly weapon, in Marshall County District Court.
According to Sheriff Donald Yow, on Saturday,
August 2, around 10:50 pm, the Marshall County
Sheriff’s Office received a call about a man lying in
the road. When the deputies arrived, they found him stabbed.
The deputies called the Marshall County Ambulance Service, and they took the
victim to the Madill Alliance Hospital. But because of the wounds, they had to
airlift him to another hospital.
The deputies worked on the scene and learned from witnesses that the guy
who stabbed the victim was named Jason Thomas. Thomas ran away right after
the stabbing, and the deputies searched everywhere for him but couldn’t find
him.
The Marshall County Sheriffs Office realized this was just one isolated incident.
So, they kept looking for Thomas throughout the night, but they couldn’t find him.
They stayed in the area just in case he came back.
On Sunday, August 3rd, in the late afternoon, some citizens called the Marshall
County Sheriff’s Office and said Thomas had just come back to the crime scene
and left.
The deputies were quick to respond and found Thomas walking and arrested
him. They took him to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and then to the Marshall
County Detention Center, where he was booked. Bond was set at $100,000. JOSHUA

BOMBS AWAY
A Blanchard man who shared ISIS propaganda online was
sentenced to serve a decade in federal prison for possession
of child pornography and communicating a threat to bomb
synagogues.
Landon Kyle Swinford, 20, of Blanchard, has been sentenced to serve 120 months in federal prison for possession
of child pornography and communicating a threat, announced
U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
According to public records, on May 18, 2023, Swinford
made contact with an undercover law enforcement officer (UC)
after posting Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) propaganda on social media. Swinford communicated with the UC
through October 22, 2023, during which time he expressed a
desire to travel overseas to fight with ISIS. Swinford also scouted out Gaylord Memorial Stadium at
the University of Oklahoma for a possible terror attack, and suggested a Walmart or the city of New
Orleans be targeted for attack as well. Additionally, Swinford sent the UC a manifesto and an ISIS
Bayat video in which he pledged his allegiance to ISIS and burned an Israeli flag.
Through the course of the investigation, the FBI learned that Swinford had multiple social media
accounts. On October 23, 2023, Swinford posted a public statement on Instagram that read “CAST
FEAR INTO THE HEARTS OF THE KUFFAR THIS HALLOWEEN Dress up as your favorite mujahideen and bomb a synagogue.”
During the investigation, the FBI also learned that the known IP address and two accounts
of Swinford were found to have accessed child pornography in April and July of 2023. Swinford later
confessed to having possessed and shared child pornography. On July 17, 2024, a federal Grand
Jury charged Swinford with possession of child pornography and with communicating a threat.
“The egregious conduct of this defendant stands in direct violation of our core values and must
be confronted with the full force of the law,” said U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester. “The Justice
Department remains unwavering in its commitment to protect children and defend our communities
from the vile, hateful rhetoric exposed in this case. This sentence sends an unmistakable message:
those who exploit the internet to target the vulnerable and spread fear will face swift and severe
consequences.”
“In an apparent pledge of loyalty to ISIS, the defendant used his access to the internet to make
threats of violence against innocent Americans,” said FBI Oklahoma City Acting Special Agent in
Charge Sonia Garcia. “The sentence handed down today reflects the deliberate and calculated nature of his crimes, which also include viewing child pornography. The FBI and our law enforcement
partners will not tolerate this kind of egregious behavior, and we will continue to respond to all threats
with the utmost urgency.”
Swinford pleaded guilty on November 13, 2024, and admitted he knowingly possessed material
containing child pornography, including images of prepubescent children, and that he knowingly
transmitted a communication containing a threat to injure another person.
At the sentencing hearing on August 14, 2025, U.S. District Judge Charles Goodwin sentenced
Swinford to serve 120 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. In announcing his sentence, Judge Goodwin noted the seriousness of the offenses, that Swinford had
specifically targeted Synagogues and people of the Jewish faith, Swinford’s willingness to fight for
ISIS, his distribution of child pornography, and that Swinford had direct contact with minors in which
he had discussions and traded pictures of a sexual nature.
This case is the result of an investigation by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, the Edmond Police
Department, the McClain County Sheriff’s Office, the New York City Police Department, the Norman
Police Department, the Oklahoma City Community College Police Department, the Oklahoma City
Police Department, the Oklahoma City University Police Department, the Oklahoma State Bureau of
Investigation, and the University of Oklahoma Police Department.

THAT'S METHED UP!
Two grandparents in Arkansas were arrested after children in their care allegedly tested positive for
“shockingly high levels” of drugs.
In June, the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against
Children Division received a referral from the Department of Human Services regarding endangered children and drug use at a home on Shady Lane.
According to the affidavit, 22-year-old Chloe Yun and two children were living with
grandparents 41-year-old Brandy Denise Vick and 43-year-old Charles Anthony Vick.
During a home visit, a DHS investigator reported Yun and Brandy Vick appeared “under
the influence.”
The investigator also reported seeing a knife and a pipe with marijuana within arm’s
reach of the two minors.
The court documents stated that Yun agreed to a drug test and failed for meth, THC,
and amphetamine. However, Brandy Vick refused to take a drug test.
While talking with the DHS investigator, the affidavit stated Yun admitted that they all
used drugs together every day.
“[Yun] told the DHS investigator that they make and sell meth, as well,” the affidavit
stated.
DHS took custody of the children and took them to Arkansas Children’s Team for Children at Risk Medical Clinic for examination, including a hair follicle test.
The affidavit stated both children tested positive for methamphetamine, THC and amphetamine.
“The representative also referred to the amount of controlled substances in the children’s system as shockingly high levels,” court documents stated.
Yun, Brandy Vick and Charles Vick were all charged with Introduction of a controlled
substance into the body of another person, a Class Y felony, and endangering the welfare
of a minor, a Class D felony.
Sharp County sheriff’s
deputies arrested the Vicks
later that day. Each were
held on a $75,000 cash/
surety bond. An arrest warrant was issued for Yun, but
according to online jail records and court documents,
she has not yet been taken
into custody.

“Come with me, Chuck E”
Customers watched in disbelief as Florida police arrested a Chuck E. Cheese employee — in costume portraying
the pizza-hawking rodent — and accused him of using a
stolen credit card, officials said Thursday.
Jermel Jones, 41, was working on July 23 when Tallahassee police confronted him at the Chuck E. Cheese on
Sharer Road, according to law enforcement records.
“I grabbed his right arm while giving the verbal instruction, ‘Chuck E, come with me Chuck
E,’” Tallahassee police officer Jarrett Cruz wrote in the report.
“Jones immediately started tensing up locking both of his arms forward in front of his chest
and attempted to pull away from my grip on his right arm. I gave the verbal commands, ‘stop
resisting, you are being detained.’”
Cruz told the mascot not to make a scene before the officer and his partner “exerted minor
physical effort” to handcuff him, police said.
Victim Michelle Allen told police she’d been to her child’s birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese
on June 28 and soon spotted fraudulent charges at stores she doesn’t frequent, police said.
She went to one of those stores and got security footage matching the time her card was
wrongly used, police said. She recognized the Chuck E. Cheese employee making a purchase
at the store at the same time as one of those fraudulent swipes, police said.
Cruz went to that Chuck E. Cheese location and identified Jones, not in costume, as the
employee Allen suspected of stealing her card, police said. The officer briefly talked with Jones,
whom he described as “very nervous” during their conversation, according to police.
Cruz left the restaurant to confer with Allen and another officer, police said. When the officers
went back inside, Jones was gone but a Chuck E. Cheese mascot was now in the restaurant,
according to police.
Cruz asked another employee if she knew where Jones went and whether the person in the
mouse outfit was in fact him, and she “shook her head up and down indicating yes,” police
said.
The officers read the mouse his Miranda warnings
before he insisted he never stole anyone’s credit, police said.
“I don’t got no card on me, I don’t use nobody’s
cards but my own,” Jones said, according to Cruz’s
arrest report.
Officers found the victim’s Visa card in Jones’ left
pocket and a receipt from a smoke shop where one of
the fraudulent purchases was made, police said.
Jones was booked on suspicion of larceny, possession of another person’s ID without consent and fraudulent use of a credit card two or more times.
Jones was bailed out of Leon County Jail after posting a $6,500 bond, a jail representative said.
