Texas woman with gang connection on house arrest is on the run

Houston, TX- Karla Jackelin Morales, 20 years old charged with murder back and machete killing of Jose Villanueva in 2018 escaped house arrest and is currently on the run.
Morales lured the victim to a field with marihuana before he was attacked and killed by MS-13 gang members.
On July 19, 2018, Morales had lured Villanueva to a grass field near an elementary school with marijuana as a belated birthday gift. When he arrived, he was shot and slayed by the gang members.
Allegedly, Villanueva had been hiding for denigrating the gang verbally.
Morales cut off her ankle monitor and jumped bail days before her trial was set to begin on October 25, 2021. Since the GPS tracker on her ankle monitor is gone, officials have not been able to find her.
The suspect is from the area of Houston and even though she has family in El Salvador and Honduras, police authorities believe she is still in Houston.
The police department asks the public with information about her whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. The Crime Stoppers in Houston offer a $5,000 reward to anyone who helps with her capture. (KSAT)
