What happens when you sit in the floor of
a hotel room and make weird noises? Well,
if you’re under the influence of drugs, you go
to jail.
An El Reno man is facing charges after he
did just that on Dec. 20.
According to the affidavit, a Hinton police
officer received a call from the owner of a local motel about a weirdo in one of the motel’s rooms. The owner said that a man was
sitting in the floor of his rented room making quack noises and was acting extremely
strange.
The officer went to the motel and met with the owner. He was
taken to the room of the subject, and saw a man lying on the floor,
making farting noises and mumbling.
The officer saw three syringes in plain view on top of a table.
The officer asked the man if he was OK. The man was mumbling
nonsense and was talking extremely fast. The officer noticed that
the top of the man’s hands were a little bloody, alluding to drug use.
The man’s room was extremely messy; the mattresses and pillows
had been stripped and blankets were thrown everywhere.
The officer asked the man if he could pat him down and the man
agreed; the officer found $600 in his pocket.
The man could not stand still and was moving all over the place.
The officer told them man to relax; he said he was trying to. He also
admitted to using meth the night before.
The officer asked the man if there was anything illegal in the room
and the man said, “Oh no, you can search if you want.” He then told
the officer that there might be syringes in the trashcan.
In the trash, the officer found a small baggie containing a substance that appeared to be meth. He also found three syringes, a
glass smoking pipe with a white residue and a metal spoon with a
white residue.
Underneath the bed, the officer located a driver’s license that
identified the man as 53-year-old Roger Kevin Barton.
The officer placed Barton under arrest and transported him to the
Caddo County jail.
Barton is being charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $3,000 bond and is scheduled to
appear in court on Feb. 13, 2014.

Brian Hounslow, a 37-year-old Tulsa man, was jailed after he
was allegedly caught masturbating inside a women’s restroom.
According to police, a woman shopping at a Tulsa Walmart
was unpleasantly surprised when she walked into the women’s
restroom to find Hounslow masturbating in front of a mirror.
Investigators say Hounslow’s pants were down around his
ankles and he was masturbating his “fully exposed turgid
penis” when the woman walked in.
Hounslow reportedly got dressed and began walking toward
the store’s exit while the woman attempted to get help. When
the woman was unable to find someone who could address the
situation, she pulled out her cell phone and began recording
the man as he continued to walk toward the exit.
The video shows a man walking away from the woman as she proceeds to make
a public spectacle of him. At one point in the video, the man runs from the woman
when she begins shouting “stop that man, stop that man.”
Although the man succeeded in fleeing the scene, another shopper managed to get
Hounslow’s license plate number. He was arrested later the same day.
During a subsequent interview with police, Hounslow reportedly confessed to the
masturbation explaining that he thought that he was inside the men’s restroom.
Hounslow was booked into jail and charged with indecent exposure.

A Clinton couple, which included a
very confused woman that couldn’t seem
to remember her name or age, was arrested on Dec. 27, after drugs were found
in their vehicle.
According to the affidavit, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was driving
eastbound on I-40 when he met a vehicle
that failed to dim its high beam lights
when they met.
The trooper turned around and initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle. He
made contact with the driver, Michael
Lawrence, 51, who told him that his license was suspended.
After running Lawrence’s information
through dispatch, the trooper discovered
that he had warrants out of Greer County.
He asked Lawrence the name of the
passenger and Lawrence told him it was
Sharon Musick. The trooper looked up
the name and found the birthdate of 12-
25-79. He asked Lawrence if Musick was
34, and he said that it was.
The trooper asked the passenger her birthdate and she told
him 1-11-68. He confirmed the information that he had found
through dispatch, and she told him it was true, but she was nervous that that’s why she lied. Musick had an outstanding Custer
County warrant, so the trooper placed her under arrest.
During an inventory of the vehicle, the trooper found several
hypodermic needles and a small baggy that contained a white
crystal substance that later field-tested positive for meth. He
also found rolling papers, a green leafy substance that appeared
to be marijuana, an unmarked pill bottle that contained Hydrocodone pills, and an ID for Sandra Dee Musick, 45.
Musick advised the trooper that her real name was Sandra,
not Sharon. The trooper discovered that Sandra also had outstanding Custer County warrants, so she remained in handcuffs.
Lawrence said that the meth was his, but on the way to the
jail, the couple told the trooper that they were living together
and heavily using meth.
Musick is being charged for two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance after former conviction of two or
more felonies, possession of a controlled dangerous substance,
obstructing an officer and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lawrence is being charged with possession of a controlled
dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. They are both scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 17, 2014.

Skeletal remains found in a rural
Custer County field have been positively identified as those of JaRay Wilson, who has been missing since 2012.
The State Medical Examiner’s Office
used dental records to confirm Wilson’s identity.
The skeletal remains were found
on Dec. 17, 2013. The location of the
discovery is about two miles north of
Weatherford, police said. The cause
and the manner of death is still pending.
Wilson, a student at Weatherford High School, vanished
on Oct. 14, 2012. That same day, surveillance cameras at a
local convenience store captured images of the 16-year-old
walking through the store and texting on her cellphone.
During the 14-month probe into her disappearance, two
confidential informants allegedly came forward and told police 19-year-old Tucker Ryan McGee shot Wilson with a .22
caliber pistol.
One of the informants, “admitted that he provided Tucker
McGee and another individual... a ride to the burial location
on Oct. 15, 2012, so that McGee could bury the body of JaRay Wilson,” David Sauls, an agent with the Oklahoma State
Bureau of Investigation, wrote in a probable cause affidavit.
That information ultimately led to the discovery of the
missing teen’s remains, police said.
Although a positive identification and cause of death had
yet to be determined, McGee was charged with first-degree
murder hours after the remains were found.
He is now being held in the Custer County Jail without
bond.
Investigators have yet to reveal a possible motive in the
alleged murder of Wilson.

The Bible does

One of the most dangerous elements of drinking alcohol is setting

Apostle Paul, especially, cautions Christians to act responsibly so as

drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. (Titus 1:7,
NIV)
As with other issues not specifically spelled out in Scripture, the
decision whether to drink alcohol is something each person must
wrestle with on their own, consulting the Bible and taking the matter
to God in prayer.
In 1 Corinithians 10:23-24, Paul sets down the principle we should
use in such cases:
“Everything is permissible”-but not everything is beneficial.
“Everything is permissible”-but not everything is constructive.

An Elk City man was eventually arrested after a couple of angry motel owners
called police, demanding that he be removed from their property. Although the
man insisted that he was simply parked
in the lots for free Wi-Fi, police soon discovered that he was performing more unseemly actions in his car.
On Dec. 26, an Elk City officer was
dispatched to a local motel in the 2000
block of West Third Street in reference to
removing a man from the property. Dispatch advised that the man was sitting in a green car.
The officer made contact with the man, Joshua Ray Britton, 27,
who told the officer that he was using wireless internet from the
motel. The officer told him that he needed to leave the property.
Britton left, but he was apparently on the search for the next
motel that could play host to his disturbing public use of the Internet.
Approximately 30 minutes later, the officer received a call from
another motel that also wanted a man in a green car removed
from their property.
Apparently, a woman had seen Britton watching pornography
on his cell phone and masturbating in his car.
The officer went to the motel and approached Britton’s car by
foot.
As the officer walked up to the car, sure enough, there was Britton with his cell phone in one hand and in his other hand — well,
you get the idea.
Britton looked up at the officer and said, “Oh, s---.”
He quickly turned his cell phone off.
The officer opened his car door and told Britton to pull up his
pants and exit the vehicle.
Britton complied and the officer placed him in handcuffs.
Britton is being charged with indecent exposure. He was released on a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court
on Jan. 2, 2014.

Well, winter is here! With this
most recent ice and snow storm
that gripped Oklahoma, there obviously were some significant
obstacles to safe driving. One that I have noticed, that doesn’t
really get a lot of attention, is the visibility that is obstructed by
iced over windshields and windows on vehicles. I’m going to touch
on some of that, to try to raise some awareness about it, and give
some tips to help us stay safe.
We’ve all seen it...a vehicle coming down the road with just a
small hole scraped in the windshield so the driver could see the
road. Every time I see it, I cringe! The law that governs this is
Oklahoma State Statute 47:12-404.C, which states: “No person
shall drive any motor vehicle with any sign, poster, other nontransparent material, or debris, including but not limited to snow,
ice, or frost upon the front windshield or the side wings, or side
or rear windows......which obstructs, obscures, or impairs the
driver’s clear view of the highway ahead or to either side or of any
intersecting highway.” What this means to the everyday driver is
that the little hole you scraped to drive by, just won’t cut it! While
compliance is the goal, the reason is safety! Obviously the chances
of an accident drastically increase as visibility decreases...so why
limit our vision to just a small hole out the front windshield?
There are several ways to clear those windshields, both
mechanically and chemically. A simple ice scraper has been the
preferred method for as long as most people can remember. They
are inexpensive, and easy to find. Another method is simply to go
out 10 minutes before you leave and simply start your car up, and
get the defroster going! When the windows are clear, you are good
to go! Still another way is to obtain any number of chemical deicing sprays that are available at most stores. Don’t pour hot water
on your windows, as the change in temperatures can cause your
window to crack or break!
While we are talking about it, lets not forget about those side and
rear widows. A significant percentage of accidents happen while
backing, so it stands to reason that we need to be able to see out
our back glass as well as the front. Side windows are no different,
no one wants to be struck by a vehicle they couldn’t see when they
pull into an intersection. After you finish with those side windows,
go ahead and hit those side mirrors as well!
All of these suggestions simply take a little extra time, and
sometimes money, but the time and money pale in comparison to
the impact on time and money that an accident will have on you, or
others. As a safe, courteous driver, you owe it to yourself and your

John Posey, a 65-year-old Arkansas man, was jailed after he
allegedly entered a Radio Shack drunk and then proceeded to
urinate on the floor and various electronics.
According to Paragould Police, officers were dispatched to a
local Radio Shack after receiving a report of an intoxicated man
that the retailer wished to have removed from the premises.
Arriving officers spoke with the store clerk who pointed out
a puddle on the floor where Posey had just urinated and then
pointed officers in his direction.
Investigators then spoke with Posey who had blood shot eyes,
slurred speech and appeared to be unsteady on his feet. Posey
denied urinating on the floor and told the officer that he was
“just shopping” despite having an unzipped fly.
The officer placed Posey into a patrol car and then went back into the store to evaluate
the damage. Among the damaged items were several television sets, various recording
equipment and other audio equipment valued at about $800.
During a second interview, Posey admitted to urinating on the floor, explaining that he
“had to pee bad.” When the officer asked Posey why he didn’t ask to use a restroom, Posey
stated that “stores usually won’t let you, so I didn’t ask.”
Posey was booked into the Greene County Jail and charged with criminal mischief.

The key to your freedom
A heartbroken Loyal man’s bad night
was made even worse when it ended up
with him behind bars on Jan. 1.
The new year of Keith James Dillard,
22, did not start out well with a fight with
his girlfriend, a few too many drinks and
a friend that called the police on him after he received report of Dillard driving
recklessly around town.
In the early morning hours of the first
day of the new year, an Oklahoma state
trooper was on patrol in Blaine County when he observed a
truck pull up to a stop sign and accelerate at a high rate of
speed after stopping at the sign. The truck continued to drive
at a high rate of speed before the driver suddenly slammed on
his breaks and slid across State Highway 8 onto the grass, the
affidavit states.
The trooper pulled up behind the truck and made contact
with a very intoxicated Dillard. He asked Dillard what he was
doing, and Dillard told him that he and his girlfriend had been
arguing and he was very upset.
The trooper could smell the strong odor of alcohol coming
from the man.
Dillard told the officer that he had consumed too much alcohol and he was probably going to jail.
The trooper asked Dillard to sit in his patrol car and noticed
that that drunk man’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot.
Dillard asked the trooper if he would just follow him home.
The trooper showed Dillard the skid marks he had left on the
roadway and asked him what he was thinking. Dillard said
he was on his way home, when he suddenly decided to turn
around and go back to his girlfriend’s house.
After performing standard field sobriety tests, the trooper
placed Dillard under arrest.
Dillard’s phone kept ringing, and he asked the trooper to answer it. A man on the other end told the trooper that Dillard
had been at his house earlier that night and he had reported
him. Although the trooper hadn’t received information prior
to arresting Dillard, another officer shortly pulled up and told
the trooper that he had received a call about Dillard driving
recklessly around town.
Dillard is being charged for a DUI and speeding in excess of
lawful maximum limit. He was released on a $1,341.50 bond
and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 16, 2014.

HIDDEN CAMERAS IN WOMEN’S RESTROOM
A McAlester man was arrested and faces federal and state
charges after investigators say he put a hidden camera inside
the women’s restroom at the McAlester Army Ammunition
Plant.
Kenneth Elkins, 55, was an employee at the plant.
Elkins is charged with three counts of federal video voyeurism, two counts of recording/transmitting obscenity. The
state is also charging him with two counts of using electronic
equipment in clandestine manner.
Investigators say women were videotaped using the restroom at the plant between July and August. They say Elkins captured very revealing
pictures of least three of the women.
When investigators searched Elkins home they found child pornography on his
computer and evidence he was recording inside a 16-year-old relative’s room.
Elkins is out on bond.

A vehicle full of North Carolina residents
was pulled over for reckless driving, but it
was soon discovered that they were on a
drug-fueled joyride through Oklahoma.
On Jan, 5, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol
trooper was on patrol when he saw an SUV
without a tag driving on I-40. According to
the affidavit, the vehicle was traveling 90
mph. When the trooper activated his lights
in order to pull the vehicle over, the SUV
suddenly moved from the right lane to the
left lane, quickly went onto the shoulder
and came to a jerking stop. The trooper
saw two of the subjects switch seats.
The trooper asked the man, Jamison
Cain Oocumma, 19, sitting in the passenger seat for his driver’s license since he
had been the one driving. He said he didn’t
have one.
When the vehicle door opened, the
trooper immediately smelled the odor of
marijuana.
He asked where the marijuana was, and
a woman sitting in the back, identified as
Jillian Monike Swimmer, 27, pointed to a
cup holder that had five or six burnt joints
in it. She also pointed to a small plastic bag
that contained a green leafy substance.
The trooper placed Oocumma and the
man sitting in the driver’s seat, Rain Edwin Jackson, 19, in handcuffs and placed
them in his patrol car.
Swimmer admitted that the marijuana
was hers, and both men told the trooper
that they had been smoking marijuana
about five minutes before they were pulled over.
The men did not do well when the trooper administered standard field sobriety tests, and all three North Carolinians were
transported to jail.
Jackson is being charged with driving under the influence of
drugs, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, obstructing an officer, driving without a driver’s license and speeding in
excess of lawful maximum limit.
Swimmer is being charge with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Oocumma is being charged with actual physical control of a vehicle while under the influence and obstructing an officer.
All three members of the trio were released on $10,000 bonds
and they are all scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 10, 2014.
