Bikini-clothed arsonist found amid the smoky wildlands covered in scratches and soot

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. – On August 11, Viola Liu, 43, allegedly started a fire 30 miles from South Lake Tahoe, California. The fire erupted around Aspen Creek Tract close to Echo Summit.

According to El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the wildland fire. Fire personnel approached authorities immediately, eerily pointing them in the direction of the potential arson suspect.

Amid the smoky air, deputies approached the female fire starter amongst the wooded area. Her visibility began to increase as they worked through the smoke. What they described next sounds like a scene from a horror film.

Deputies found the woman, reportedly dressed in only a bikini top and bottom. That was not all they noticed, as El Dorado County officials described visible scratches and soot all over her body.

After a thorough interview, authorities were able to piece together the evidence of suspect arson. Liu reportedly admitted to igniting the wildland fire that day. She was arrested and booked in the El Dorado County Jail for Arson. Other complaints include possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, along with resisting and obstructing a peace officer.
