Shawn Carnahan (pictured) has been reported
missing from his residence in Poteau. Shawn was
last seen on June 17, 2017 around 5:30 am leaving his house in his mother-in-laws vehicle. The
vehicle was located by Poteau Officers on Polk
Creek Street (in the Cavanal area) at approximately 8:30 that morning. Shawn was not with the vehicle and no report had been filed at that time so
the vehicle was logged as abandoned. Later, after
the report had been filed, Officers returned to the
vehicle and found it to be operational.
Officers from the Poteau Police Department, LeFlore County Sheriff's
Office, and family members conducted a search if the area on July 18
with no sign of Shawn. If anyone has any information on Shawn's current
whereabouts please contact the Poteau Police Department.

With temperatures
topping 90 degrees
in Fort Worth, Texas,
residents without air
conditioning certainly
had a lot to complain
about, especially
95-year-old Julius
Hatley.
But Hatley made
the best of his situation, sitting on his
porch in the shade to
keep cool. He even continued his yard work, despite the unbearable heat.
But the 95-year-old's luck took a turn. Drenched in sweat, the man called
the Fort Worth Police Department to report his broken air conditioner.
"This wasn't a regular 911 call," Fort Worth Officer William Margolis told
CBS News. "It was what you'd label 'low priority' because we're not AC
techs."
After responding to a few other calls first, Margolis and his partner, Christopher Weir, made their way to Hatley's home, where they discovered both
his central A/C and window unit were broken.
"When we got there around 8:30 a.m. his house was 85 to 90 degrees
already," Margolis said.
After talking over the situation with his partner, Margolis promised the
man he'd find a solution.
Margolis couldn't shake the image of the elderly man sitting in his home
in the sweltering heat, so he decided to make a pit stop at Home Depot
and Weir agreed.
The officers asked employees for help finding a good A/C unit, explaining Hatley's situation in the process. The Home Depot workers were so
touched by the officers' kind gesture, they offered to pitch in their own
money, too.
"While there, Home Depot managers and employees decided to contribute $150 of their own money to help with the cause," Weir's wife, Jennifer, wrote on Facebook. "This is what being an officer is about.”
Weir, along with another co-worker, Officer Steven Rebrovich, helped
Margolis install the A/C unit inside Hatley's home later that day. And Hatley
couldn't have been happier -- he even posed for a few pictures with the
officers afterward.
"He was actually really excited," Margolis recalled. "He said he knew if he
needed help to call 911 and we actually were able to help him, so he was
really excited about it."
"I appreciate that," Hatley told the officers as they finished installing the
unit.
The goodwill doesn't stop there.
"Since the story was [first shared], we have all worked on getting his
central air replaced and a company came forward to do so, completely for
free." Jennifer Weir told CBS News. "We are also currently working on getting his windows replaced, his house repainted and groceries every week."
Margolis said he plans to make a point of checking in on Hatley from time
to time.
"He's 95 years old and he's a World War II veteran," Margolis said. "He's
a hero. In our eyes he's our hero."

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.

problem could have been caused or made worse by the drug?
10. Do they take more of the drug to get the wanted effect?
11. Have they developed withdrawal symptoms, which can be relieved by
taking more of the drug? (Some withdrawal symptoms can be obvious, but
others can be more subtle—like irritability or nervousness.)

McAlester man Bailey Jonathan Roberts, 32, and
his 33-year-old accomplice, Pryor woman Harmony Catton, were arrested on June 15 after an officer found drugs and paraphernalia in their possession, along with materials to manufacture fake credit
cards.
According to the affidavit, a McAlester officer spotted the couple’s car driving south on Third Street
from Wyandotte at approximately 5:36 p.m. The vehicle had a busted windshield.
When the officer attempted to stop the car, the
driver, identified as Roberts, came to an abrupt stop
just south of Seminole, hitting the curb and causing
the front passenger tire to blow out.
The officer approached the vehicle and made contact with Roberts and his passenger, identified as
Catton. While checking the couple’s info, the officer
was advised Catton had warrants for her arrest. He
placed her in handcuffs. He checked her pockets
and found a bag containing a small amount of a
clear crystal substance.
The officer then searched Roberts and found another bag containing a crystal-like substance.
Due to the items found on the couple, the officer
searched the vehicle and found a glass smoking pipe
and a driver’s license with Roberts picture on it, but
with another man’s name. The ID card also felt fake.
The officer continued his search and found some social security cards and
IDs belonging to another people. He also found a label maker and a large
amount of credit cards in Roberts’ wallet that had another people’s names on
them.
Roberts admitted to using the label maker to put different numbers on the
cards so he could use them at gas stations and for hotel rooms.
Both Roberts and Catton were transported to jail.

It would be hard to make up a story as
good as this one... Oklahoma Game Warden Brandon Fulton (Tulsa Co.) came home
from grocery shopping to find a car parked
in his driveway. On closer inspection the
Game Warden found two men fishing in the

OSBI special agents and a deputy with
the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office arrested a former police officer on June 13 in the
OSBI McAlester field office.
Jerry “Jay” Lynn Gragg, Jr., 40, was arrested on four felony counts – one count
of forcible sodomy, two counts of sexual
battery, and one count officer accepting a
bribe.
The complaints stem from allegations relating to a traffic stop January 21, 2017,
when Gragg worked as a police officer for
the city of Savanna. Gragg made a traffic
stop and told the female driver she was
driving on a suspended license. Gragg said
he would take her to jail unless she could
pay the fine in full. The woman did not have enough money. Gragg then
began making sexual advances toward the woman.
During the traffic stop, Gragg forced her to touch his penis and to perform oral sex. After the encounter, the woman left.
After she spoke with friends and her pastor, she came forward with the
allegations and produced the blouse she wore that day that had a semen
stain. An OSBI DNA analyst lifted a profile from the stain and determined it
matched Gragg’s DNA.
Gragg had submitted his DNA during an interview with agents when he
denied all allegations. Gragg was booked into the Pittsburg County Criminal Justice Center.

A Kansas man who robbed a bank last September and told police that he was hoping to get caught so he would get prison time
to escape his wife, was sentenced Tuesday to six months of home
confinement after pleading guilty, The Kansas City Star reported.
Lawrence John Ripple took the guilty plea in January. He told
the judge on Tuesday that he had heart surgery that left him depressed when he committed the bank robbery, the paper reported.
His public defender told the court that ripple had lived a lawabiding life and was in a stable relationship with his wife. He has
four step children, the report said.
Ripple handed a note to a bank teller in Kansas City, demanding
cash and warning he had a gun. Ripple took the money0-- $2,924-- and went to sit in the
lobby where he told a guard he was the “guy he was looking for.”
Officers arrived quickly. An FBI agent wrote in the affidavit that Ripple had earlier been
arguing with his wife. He told investigators he wrote the note in front of his wife, telling her
he would “rather be in jail than at home.”

Jeremy G: I didn’t read this particular article, but I read a few on this guy. He was
extremely mentally ill, which led him to robbing the bank with fingernail clippers. He was
not violent, he gave the money back after he waited for police to arrive. After treatment he
apologized and WANTED to go home. This wasn’t so much a “wife sentence” as much as
a sick man’s cry for help, and a judge using alternative sentencing to help him instead of
lock him up.
Edit: After reading this bit, they omitted (or didn’t know) the bit where he was mentally ill.
Just “depressed,” which I guess is technically correct... After he was treated even his wife
said he was “back to his old self.”

The Elizabeth City Police Department held their annual anti-crime fundraiser, oblivious to the fact that a criminal was in their midst. According to Time, this North Carolina
event included a doughnut eating contest, in which a passerby defeated each cop by
consuming eight doughnuts in under two minutes. His victory was short-lived, however, as the police arrived at his house one day later due to his earlier participation in
two cases of breaking and entering. I can only imagine their satisfaction, imprisoning
the one man able to perform standard police work better than they are able.
This North Carolina couple has proved junk food can be used as a weapon, and not
just against your own figure. According to Atlanta Journal Constitution, police were
called by the neighbors around 1:30 am. They noted it as a domestic violence call,
and arrived at the couple’s apartment only to observe the pair assaulting each other
by throwing pizza rolls. They were charged with simple assault and jailed; clearly their
relationship appears warm on the outside but is ice cold on the inside.
Border protection arrested a woman in Arizona after she attempted to carry a bag
full of burritos into the US entrance. According to HP, drug dogs sniffed around to
discover each burrito was nothing but tortillas wrapped around bags of meth. The
suspect admitted she was being paid $500 to smuggle meth into the country.
A Michigan couple got into an argument that ended in a murder and an attempted
suicide. How did the cops decipher this? According to Huffington Post, the African
grey parrot had been repeating the phrase “don’t f—ing shoot!”, clearly traumatized.
The victim’s in-laws insist the bird be used as evidence in court, even though the wife
has not yet been charged. Most likely, the cops will wing it.

is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
